I recently had a hair transplant experience at Turkeyana Hair Transplant Clinic in Istanbul and it was an absolute nightmare. Before signing up for the procedure, I was contacted by a clinic advisor named Bahram who gave me an estimate of $2,200, including 4 nights at a hotel. Everything seemed well when I arrived at the clinic, but my experience quickly went downhill.
Firstly, none of the medical staff wore name tags, so I couldn't even properly identify who was treating me. The doctor who showed up, a young individual who only introduced himself as doctor Ilias, seemed inexperienced and unprofessional. During our brief consultation, he mentioned that I needed a stem cell treatment before the transplant, which would cost an additional $2,200. After negotiation, I managed to bring down the price to $1600. However, I became aware that this doctor had no knowledge about my skin genetic condition, Hictosis, and brushed it off as "just a dry skin" issue. It was clear that he was not qualified to handle my case.
Feeling uneasy, I decided to visit the dental department to discuss any potential dental procedures. To my shock, the dentist claimed that I had a tumor and needed two front teeth extracted, totaling $4000 for the extraction and replacement. This was an outrageous lie, as I had no symptoms of any tumors, pain, or inflammation in my teeth. At that moment, I realized I was surrounded by nothing but scam artists and thieves.
Meanwhile, my wife spoke with another unhappy family from South Africa who complained that the recovery treatment package (special shampoo and hair products for 3-6 months) was not disclosed before the hair implant procedure. When they requested a warranty certificate, Turkeyana Hair Transplant Clinic refused to provide one, leaving them frustrated and cheated.
I had a conversation with the clinic's general manager, who never even bothered to introduce himself. I voiced my concerns about doctor Ilias and asked for his credentials. He reassured me verbally, without any substantial proof, that I was in good hands. This lack of transparency and professionalism further solidified my suspicion that this clinic was engaged in illegal medical practices.
That evening, I returned to my hotel, deeply troubled by my entire experience. While mentally preparing myself for the implant procedure scheduled for the next day, I decided to email Bahram, the clinic advisor, to inquire about doctor Ilias' credentials and last name. I also expressed my concerns about this doctor, copying my lawyer and the US Embassy in Istanbul for added support. However, Bahram conveniently failed to respond to my email.
The following morning, when the driver arrived at the hotel to pick me up, I made it clear that I would not proceed with the procedure. I completely refused to go through with it. Two days later, I received an email from Bahram with a photo of a different doctor who would apparently be performing the implant. However, there was no mention or clarification about the previous doctor Ilias. This complete lack of transparency and disregard for patient care only confirms the unethical and illegal practices of Turkeyana Hair Transplant Clinic.
I strongly urge anyone considering this clinic for a hair transplant or any other medical procedure to stay far away. The unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and potential scams make this place a danger to people seeking legitimate healthcare. Don't be fooled by their promises or slick marketing tactics - this clinic does not prioritize patient wellbeing or safety. read more
