This was our favorite walking park during our recent trip to Niceville, FL. Its full of beautiful nature and you can swim in the creek if you want to. Total walk its about 1.5mi one way from beginning to end. They do lock the gate 20-30min before sunset. Check the closing time on the chalkboard if you're going that late. They will make people leave if you're cutting it that close on the golf cart. Entry is completely free and plenty of parking in the dirt lot. The boardwalk feels like your in some Indian Jones adventure with wooden paths along the entire way. There are numerous areas for people to go swimming, tubing or whatever in the creek if you want. There are also many turtles and the town famous Joe the giant snapping turtle! Some small fish and random sea animals in the creek if you look carefully. Its just a super relaxing easy walk or run if you want. Definitely a great place to get away from the busy work life. There are random planes flying over, but same with anywhere in Niceville since we are near the AFB. Overall absolutely recommended place to visit for locals or tourist alike.

Great little Sunday stroll place to visit. The whole path, 1 mile in and 1 mile out is a wooded boardwalk. You can also stop at several spots along the way & get in the refreshing river it runs along. There's even the opportunity to float from one end of the trail to the other if you bring your own inner tube.

Turkey Crick's another free fantastic Florida resource. It's basically an L-shaped boardwalk trail that runs along Turkey Creek sporting various launches for swimming, tubing, kayaking or whatever along the way. There's two entrances, most people use the one over on John Sims as there's also a large pavilion over at that entrance that people always seem to be enjoying. Sports a large fireplace which is nice. I've been coming here for years and years visiting family in the area and usually try to get in a few walks whenever I can. It's about a mile one way. There's on-site security and video surveillance if that makes you feel any better; and they're usually very friendly when you ask them whatever. While it impresses as serene, you're never really far from earshot of the wooshing highway nearby or the startling crack of heavy military and domestic air traffic overhead. So there's bird watching of another variety. Nevertheless, this is a solid five Star Park for all it is.

Great park with an amazing walkway. Lots of nature. A lot of docks to rest during your hike and dip your feet in to cool them off on a hot day. If you want to bring a tube you can even tube the creek back. The park is very clean and now that I have visited I will 100% return.

We had a friend with an early flight out of VPS. The rest of us weren't leaving for about 5 hours, so we had some time to kill. This was a perfect find!! After some breakfast at a local spot, we decided to check out the trail at Turkey Creek. Perfect activity pre-flight. It's a nice easy 1 mile elevated walking path that parallels a crystal clear creek.

Nice nature are in town, the airplane flight path does occasional involve the area. It is a 1 mile, one way shaded boardwalk with docks for swimming. Nice sandy creek with shallow to 3-4 feet deep moving water. The water is nice and cool in a hot day. There are birds, I don't know about poisonous snakes or alligators. I didn't see any danger signs. There are lots of benches and a covered pergola seating area. On the west end, there is a canoe ramp. If I wasn't a coward, I would go swimming. ;-). There is a pavilion with huge fans at one entrance, nice!

I very nice nature trail that runs along a creek. It is a 3/4 mile boardwalk (one way) that is great for a leisure walk as well as fitness walking or running. The trees provide shade most of the time. The walkway is open at 6:30 a.m. seven days a week. Closing times are seasonal - 7pm right now. There are several swimming areas available. Canoes, kayaks, and tubes are also allowed. Things you are likely too see are turtles, ducks and many different birds. They also have markers indicating the various trees and plants. There is also a pavilion is equipped with picnic tables and grills. It is a very nice place to relax after a hectic day.

This is a great place. It's a 3/4 mile boardwalk that roughly follows the meandering Turkey Creek. There are about 4 places with a built in lowered platform designed for swimming. There isn't much real estate around those swimming platforms so I could see it getting crowded on a hot and/or busy day (we went for a stroll around 7:30 when everyone was packing up). At the start however there are lots of picnic tables and a soda vending machine. The boardwalk itself is super nice. It's wide and very well constructed. They take good care of it and replace boards when they deteriorate. The stroll itself is nice also. It is mostly swampy and wooded so it's shady and relatively cool. There weren't too many mosquitos surprisingly.

Turkey Creek is a .75 mile boardwalk that follows a creek. There are places to swim here, you can canoe and kayak (although it is very short), tube, run, have a picnic or just enjoy nature. There is a pavilion with picnic tables and a barbecue out front. There are restrooms, vending machines and a large parking lot. It is open seven days a week from 0630 to 1900. I like to come here to jog during the week. I have never seen any turkeys here, but there are dozens of curious turtles who pop their heads out of the water if you look over the side of the boardwalk.

Quaint, clean, and beautiful nature-board walk. I grew up in the area and wish this had been available then.
