If you're ever curious about checking this makers space out, they have tours every Saturday at 1pm. It's an amazing facility. The building opened in 2022 and it was made just for them so it's a huge upgrade from their previous location, where they were for 11 years. They now have an open floor plan with high ceilings and lots of natural light along with 20+ machines available. From laser cutters/engravers to water jets and 3D printers, the resources they offer are mind blowing. Fab Lab Tulsa is one of 1500+ MIT-chartered Fab Labs in 90+ countries and the first in the southeastern region of the U.S. (that's right, not even Dallas has one). Aside from the studio on the first floor, they have a metal lab and a wood lab, each with 10+ machines available. Both labs have a minimum age and require PPE to be worn at all times. The second floor has classrooms and a conference room. They have a membership model with lots of options depending on how many hours per month you'd like to have as well as what room. The pricing starts at $39 a month, which sounds like an incredible deal since you get to use machines that are $30-60k. Classes are also available for signup on their website along with education programming for kids. They have a couple of workforce initiatives as well. This is a huge asset in our community!

My friend was disappointed about this since she wanted to learn how to flood since they do it all the time on some British baking shoe she watches. The baker did explain that the cookies had to to come pre flooded since that takes so long to dry. we actually didn't want to do a DIY project at all. Only wanted to cookie decorating. so we were basically forced to do the DIY. We could have done cookie decorating with another company, but i really liked the day of the dead theme.

You get to pick the stains, paint colors, and you can work out some frustration while hammering or sanding! Woo hoo! Each table has an assistant, our lady was Lydia. She was very, polite, helpful and encouraging. The owner Ashley is an absolute doll! She was walking around checking on us, helping, and just all around friendly host. This is a perfect thing to do for a private party, just by yourself, a group of friends, whatever the occasion. We were also given so yummy cookies to go along with the Christmas in July theme.

On the education side, it houses the TCC Visual Arts, Digital Media and Design, and Mass Communication programs. On the art side, they have different initiatives and programs that promote inspiration, education and collaboration such as art exhibits, installations and education programs. On the event side, I've attended presentations, fundraisers, and other social events. The event hall is a wonderful venue with ample space, parking, professional lighting/sound, and a kitchen. The 9th Street Observation Deck and the Boston Avenue Terrace are my favorite spots. They have a great view of downtown and offer an outdoor venue. It is also Oklahoma's award-winning first "green" sustainable rooftop. The facilities rental prices are all on their website and the staff is great to deal with, always very accommodating and taking health precautions seriously. I have also been very impressed with how they've pivoted due to COVID and continue making things happen. From online galleries and exhibits to virtual workshops, I've loved the versatility! My favorite workshops are the "I Can't" series offered at no cost to the public multiple times throughout the year.
