Sue booked two different cruises for me and I thoroughly enjoyed both. Sue always comes up trumps.

The ladies in here have to be the most honest, helpful bunch in the industry!…read moreSo friendly, smiley and not annoying hard pushing sales! I've been here a couple of times, completely clueless about the destination and without wanting to look through everything a hundred times and calculating costs etc. I literally give the destination and voila!!! They tell you all the information on the local area, what hotels offer what, asking what style you want to go for, kids or adults, premium or budget. Print off all the options so you can go home and have a glass of wine and make a decision without any pressure whatsoever. I'll always go back here, okay, the pricing is a bit more, but you know you ate getting no everything covered, no dramas, booking means it's booked, no faff. Definite thumbs up!
I was somehow connected to them while looking into paying gratuities in advance for an upcoming…read morecruise. Like another reviewer mentioned, their phone number came up as connected to the cruise line. The name "Travel Unravel" will NOT be used when they try to get you to pay for services, so keep that in mind. In my case, I was misled into believing I was speaking to a customer service rep from the cruise line, who pushed prepayment "at a discount," charged my card, then provided no receipt, no way of contacting them (aside of going back through my phone, and no way of reversing the charge/getting a refund. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, but that'll take a couple of weeks to resolve. I went through my phone, found their number, called and asked for a refund, but was denied. I thought maybe they'd actually paid the gratuities, so I called the cruise line. Nope! Not paid, so I called them back. Now I'm getting the, "Your customer service rep is currently busy but will get back to you in a couple of hours to resolve this." We'll see. Meanwhile, the BBB website is open to a "file complaint" page, and I'm filling it out as I write this. It is later, many hours later, and I never did get a call back. If you're looking to prevent your travel from unraveling, steer clear of these guys! I'll keep y'all posted.
I booked return flights to Faro with Travel Unravel (ref: KB8X4WR/KB8X4WQ). They charged me £960,…read morebut when I checked directly with the airline, the exact same flights cost only £407.01. That is a 136% markup - more than double - which was not disclosed at the time of booking. When I queried this during the booking call, the agent (Lisa) specifically told me there was only a small charge, and that this was taken from the airline. This turned out to be false. The reality is that I was charged more than double the genuine fare. When I raised this serious discrepancy, the company refused any refund and insisted everything had been done correctly. Their position was simply that I had "approved" the booking, and therefore the matter was closed. This misses the point entirely: approval without full and honest disclosure of such a huge markup is not informed consent. A professional travel agency should be transparent about costs, not conceal the fact that they are charging more than double the airline's own fare while telling customers the fee is "small." In my view, this practice is misleading and fails the standards of transparency required under UK consumer law. I would strongly caution others against using Travel Unravel. Always check the airline's own website first -- you may find the real fare is a fraction of what this agency charges.

The rudest and worst service that I have EVER received: I went into my local travel agent today for…read morethe the first time. I usually book with Thomas Cook down the road but the lady that usually books my holidays has left so I fancied booking with an independent agency to receive the specialised travel knowledge that they are known for. I was looking for brochures initially on the following- Mum and Dad's anniversary present, a touring holiday of Scandinavia. Budget £1000 each. Family holiday to Turkey, all inclusive 4* Hotel Budget £3000. Cruise over Xmas to Carirbean for me and my partner or Thailand. Budget £4500. Total possible spending £10,000. I got as far as picking up 6 brochures for Mum and Dad's holiday. The elderly grumpy man stopped serving the man in front of him and spat at me a tirade of abuse about the amount of brochures I was picking up! I told him that he had a brilliant selection and that I would return them when I book. He then barked out a lecture about how brochures were hard to come by and that he is going to start charging £1. He said 'You have quite enough there, now please leave!!!' I couldn't even be angry because it was hilarious to see. He practically had steam coming out of his ears. Me and the startled young man in front of him looked at each other in bewilderment. This ladies and gentlemen is customer service at it's worse. This is how not to drum up business and how not to run a travel agency. I know for a fact as I was in the travel business a long time ago that brochures are free to travel agents and tour operators would be absolutely horrified at this negative attitude. The grumpy old man serving me must be a secret millionaire to be able to afford to throw away £10,000 worth of business. My recommendation to him is to give up retail and go and do something else. Me? I'll stick to Thomas Cook thankyou very much, where I am always greeted with a smile and a plea to come back and book soon.
I equally agree that Alan Cook or whatever his name is is a very rude man. I guess he has his…read moreregular clientelle and cannot be bothered with getting new ones. I have experienced at first hand his grumpy ways and lack of tolerance around children. I guess he needs to think of retiring and take the opportunity to book a holiday himself. I had to rush to find these guys for my day 2 as my pre booked tests did not arrive. Excellent care given over the phone and via what's app ordered both the day 2 and pre departure tests no problem. They were ready for collection did the swabs in the car dropped them into the box in the front of the office and as promised test results emailed with 12 hours ! Make sure your tests are back in by 1pm as the courier leaves at 1pm. Will definitely recommend during an uncertain and stressful time these guys know what they are doing. Each PCR test was $69 thank you

When my wife presented this seemingly obscure travel agency to assist us in planning our honeymoon,…read moreI was a little skeptical. I wasn't able to find much online about them, neither positive or negative and the deal they offered just seemed to good to be true. Concurrently, we had been working with several Miami based agencies, some were friend referrals, but Thomas at Dehouche's Rio De Janeiro, Brazil offices was not only able to get us a better price, he gave us a lot more bang for our buck. He arranged private tours for Jaclyn G. and I at various vineyards in Mendoza. We enjoyed private transportation in Argentina between airports, hotels and private tours along with English speaking guides. Our transportation vehicles were nicer than most that the citizens were commuting around in and we (mostly) didn't have to wait as the drivers were always prompt, reliable and accommodating to special last minute requests.. The other agencies we spoke to not only wanted to charge more but transportation and tours were non-included and if they were they weren't private; a desired perk when honeymooning. We would have been responsible for managing transfers ourselves during our trip which honestly would have been laboring and time consuming. Thomas made it easy too. We gave him a general idea of where we wanted to go, how long, and what our budget was. We ended up with amazing meals, wonderful vineyard tours, hot air balloon rides (I don't recommend in Buenos Aires), and wonderful hotel staff who was already aware of our honeymoon status, surprising us with chocolates and bottles of wine and champagne. One of the things that almost prevented me from utilizing Thomas' services was that Dehouche required us to make payments via bank wire transfer to a Swiss bank account or by an American Express credit card payment but that required a very high service charge. In researching the reputation of Dehouche, I could only find one obscure link which I felt to be reputable enough to put my trust in over on Conde Nast (http://www.concierge.com/tools/travelagentfinder/centralsouthamerica/paul_irvine_dehouche). I took the risk and I'm glad that I made the Swiss transfer for the balance of our honeymoon as the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Jones just returned from a truly remarkable honeymoon. What's Good: - Easy planning - Worry free while traveling - Seamless payment albeit a little intimidating - Great prices and services What's Ugly: - Only 1 of several transfers didn't show up on time and we were left waiting trying to contact someone until our driver appeared almost an hour later. - The hot air balloon ride I arranged in Buenos Aires via Dehouche was a Mickey Mouse operation which I found myself enrolled in assisting in hauling balloon parts over barb wire post crash landing.

They then sent a really easy to understand itinerary and all i had to do was go and enjoy myself. The problems come if you want to change anything on the ticket later as you have to contact the airline yourself directly rather than have Global Village sort it for you. This wasn't always easy as i was in SE Asia and contacting airlines was inconvenient and expensive. Trying to reroute the ticket was even harder! I unexpectedly had to come back to the UK and didn't complete the RTW route. I contacted Global Village for assistance but they were unable and seemingly unwilling to help. It seemed to me that once the ticket is sold there is no after-sales care or service.

Fortunately, we had an excellent travel agency who really took extra care in fulfilling all our needs, specially traveling with a baby. They gave several traveling options, with different airlines, different prices and different places to stop-over. We wanted to stay in Mexico for a couple of days, they took care of that and gave us loads of information on where to best spend our time with the few days we had. You can really tell they specialize in multi-stop and discount worldwide flights for a reason, because they are good at it. They also arrange hotels and insurance giving you what best suits your needs and budget.
