The crew did a diligent job of installing the shed, but unfortunately, the materials that arrived for them to build it with were subpar. Our door handle arrived with deep gouges in it and the rot resistant flooring arrived with chips in it, which is unacceptable for a $3000+ shed that is supposed to last for many years. Unfortunately, the crew did not have extra handles or flooring pieces in their truck, so they had to install the defective pieces that they had. We wish Tuff Shed would have done an inspection of the materials before loading them onto the truck. In addition, the design process could have been better. Home Depot (where we ordered the shed) did not have samples of the paint or shingle colors, and it took us a while to find someone who could help us with selecting options. Once we finally decided on a shingle color, we were told that the specific color (nickel gray) had long been discontinued, which was strange to us since it was still listed as being an option in their brochure and in their computer system. The only grey color in stock ended up being too light, while charcoal ended up being too black. Ultimately, the company seemed disorganized, making the process way more stressful than it needed to be. We hope Tuff Shed will make it right by replacing the defective door handle and flooring. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. My son paid in full two months ago for a shed which Tuff Shed has not even yet obtained the permit for. They are completely unresponsive to communications Extremely dissatisfied. Hopefully he can get his money back. read more

Really stunned by today's installation. The two-man crew showed up on time and got right to work. My husband checked in periodically, but around noon we realized they were in their truck, ready to leave. I noticed the vents were missing from the shed, so my husband ran after their truck before they pulled off. They explained the holes weren't pre-cut at the factory so they thought there weren't supposed to be any vents, but they'd be happy to put them in. The two guys were always very polite, and I had planned to tip them after the project was done, but after they cut the vent holes and put them in, they jumped in their truck and left. Unfortunately, we were then able to take a close look at the work, and it was really sub-par. I found my earlier correspondence from my order to figure out how to get in touch with the company for issues, but there was no phone number...just a form submission on their website. I doubt I will hear anything for several days. I also reached out through Home Depot, through whom we ordered, but will also probably need to wait several days. I hope to update this review soon. At issue: - Shingles do not cover to the edge of the flashing - Flashing is not secure to the shed - Vent holes are not large enough for the vents. The workers clipped the center of the vents in the hole but floated the edges outside of the hole and caulked around them, rather than fix the hole size so they would fit - Messy caulking covering a corner where there were large gaps between the wood - Wall studs cut to the wrong angle, so do not fully come in contact with the top plate - One corner wall stud does not come in contact with anything at all - Deep gouges in the metal handle We are still in shock that the workers would just leave without closing out the project. Given the extremely sloppy work done by the company, my husband is planning to fix the issues himself. Would NOT recommend this company. read more

Everything about the entire experience was pretty sad as well as frustrating. They seem to be greatly under staffed along with extremely poor communication. The rep from Home Depot just didn't seem to know the answers to quite a few of my questions. Incorrectly charging me for 2 separate items, when it came time to reimburse me it took a good 2 months. The gal that handles the accounts kept telling me that my acct was given to someone else who was never there. A few times she directed me to the main office in Colorado. I got quick service and promises from one of the vp's but once he delegated the job/issue it seemed to get lost or ignored. Really Really sucked. Then came the installation... Nightmare! They came back literally 5 times. They were subcontracted out and each time "they" came out they were missing a part or couldn't finish because they forgot something. My shed was finally finished before summer hit, but I purposely waited a while so as to calm down and shake some of the frustration/anger out of my system. For over $4,000 I was hoping for better and at least a company that cared. read more

I am very happy with the shed I had built and installed. My new 10x14 shed is exactly how I designed it, and was assembled on property in under 4 hours. The cost (due to rising lumber prices) is very comparable to what I would have paid to build it myself, yet I did little to none of the work. In the planning phase I worked with PJ Billetta out of Malvern PA and he was professional, responsive and knowledgeable. Once I designed my shed and scheduled an appointment I began working with Amanda out of Catonsville MD. She was equally knowledgeable and patient, though I did find it harder to contact this office. The day of install, I had a scheduled afternoon flight and the builders (I understand they were Tuff Shed Contractors) were prompt, efficient, and trustworthy. My wife and I left the house while they finished the assembly and painting. The builders texted images of the shed and explained that they would come back to finish painting due to impending rain/storms. The reason for 4 stars is due to what transpired after. I attempted to contact the builders twice once we returned for the second coat of paint, and had no response. I then spent two weeks emailing and calling the customer service line for Tuff Shed trying to figure out how to schedule the builders to come finish the second coat of paint, I paid extra for! Eventually it took about a month, with one scheduled no-show, but a warranty team came out and finished the paint and it looks phenomenal. Follow up calls occurred within 24 hours of both the build and the second coat of paint, which was very reassuring. Overall I am very impressed with Tuff Shed and would happily use their company again. The fact that it took a month for a second coat of paint couldn't be ignored but I am overjoyed with both PJ and Amanda as well as the rest of the experience. Thanks! read more

Not a great experience. I was told the "permit and processing fee" on my quote would cover, you guessed it, the permit and processing. I even asked them to confirm that when placing the order on the phone. Two weeks later, they tell me I can either pay another 250.00 to have them secure the permit or do the legwork myself. When I reminded them that I specifically asked about this, I was told "someone made a mistake at the factory" and the salesperson took no responsibility for the error. Shady and irritating. read more
