My child started at Tudorka as an infant and has gone through the toddler room and now the preschool room. We have had an overall positive experience during our time there. Things we like: - Brightwheel app: We appreciate the teachers and administrators using this to facilitate good communication. Whenever I have a question or concern and message through the app, I feel my messages are responded to promptly. If there is an announcement from the school, it is a great way to get the message quickly. - Teachers and students: My daughter clearly loves her teachers and the friends she has made at daycare. She is happy to go to school and excited to see them in the mornings. The teachers genuinely care about the kids, and will send picture updates regularly through the app. - Events/Community: There is a nice community here with various events that bring the families and teachers together, like holiday potlucks, special events. - Curriculum: It has been fun to see the things they've been teaching her at school. I see her growth in the alphabet, counting, days of the week, months of the year, learning songs, making arts & crafts, etc. During good weather I also like that the kids have a chance to go play outside each day and just have a chance to enjoy being kids! - Training and support: The teachers encourage good habits like sharing with friends, cleaning up toys, handwashing, and also help with potty training transition. - Hours for working parents: The hours at this location (7:30am-5:30pm) are great with fair tuition prices for the area. With both parents working full time, this has been really important to us. - Parent days out: The school offers extra care on weekends for parents to have a chance to have some adult time, and it's nice to have the option on occasion. Finding the right fit for a day care for each family is important, and obviously not every place works for every child. We did not go into the process with a specific philosophy or teaching method in mind. Ultimately we wanted a place where our child felt safe and happy, and Tudorka has been great for that. read more

My son has been enrolled in Tudorka Tots since he was 7 months old and is now 14 months and we have overall had a very positive experience. The teachers are kind and caring and very loving to the children. The brightwheel app makes it easy to communicate with the daycare and allows you to see fun pictures of your child while they are there. The school does a good job of doing nice things with the kids during holidays and sends cute artwork home. There are weeks off, but they offer supplemental camps to help out parents at a reasonable rate. read more

Tudorka is a great school. The carers are all warm and immensely caring with the children. My daughter loves going and has learnt so many songs, all of her colors and the alphabet from Tudorka (she is 2!). She has even learned a few yoga poses! Ms Rosemary and Ms Patty in the toddler room in particular were always so kind. The pre-school class is engaging and the community put on special events around holidays, we do crafts with the kids and share treats. It's really been a godsend and I have no hesitations recommending the school to friends in the neighborhood. read more

My boys attended Tudorka for 4 years (my older son) and 2.5 years (my younger son). They were so loved by the teachers and we built a wonderful community with the families there. My kids learned their letters, numbers, colors and other building block skills to prepare them for their next step. We attended many lovely events at the school. read more

My child has been at Tudorka since they were an infant. All the teachers are incredibly kind, warm, loving, and patient. A few months ago, with support from the teachers, my child successfully transitioned to toddler class. I love that in toddler class the kids get to play outside. I also appreciate a transitional class before moving to the 2 year old group. I'm so grateful to the teachers for helping us raise our child. read more

Our kids have been at Tudorka since they were very little, and we love it! The teachers treat the kids like rock stars and the parents like old friends. The teachers are great at teaching the kids new skills (we were struggling with starting solids, for example, and the teachers helped the kids master it quickly). I'd highly recommend it. read more

Our 2 sons have attended Tudorka Tots since 2021, when they were only 1yo and 3yo. We wanted a preschool environment for our older child that also accommodated the baby. We found the perfect place! Some of the highlights: -kind, caring, nurturing teachers that helped my son with his separation anxiety -Play-based environment with beautiful playground -Soccer shots and Spanish classes optional offered weekly (extra $ but the kids love it) -Flexible drop off and pick up times -Parents day out 1 Saturday a month! (Extra $) -Fun events for holidays including book readings by the author, visits from Sally (nightmare before Christmas), elves, Santa and Cinderella, yoga, fall festivals, performances by the students, etc. -Educational! My son was well prepared for kindergarten this year already mastering writing and math. I'm so glad we found Tudorka Tots. I don't know why any parent would do separate drop offs for their baby and preschooler when Tudorka Tots exists :) Thank you Renata and all the wonderful teachers, especially Ms Gabby and Ms Julianne, (they are ALL great!) who have invested so much in our children. I highly recommend Tudorka Tots! read more

Our two kids have been at Tudorka since they were both four months old, now 3.5 and almost 2. Renata has created a warm, caring community of families and teachers, and we've appreciated the ease of mind that comes with knowing your kids will be well taken care of and happy when you drop them off. Several of the teachers are truly beloved, and we will miss them when the time comes to move on, along with the friends our kids have made. Renata has implemented a STEAM curriculum for 2025 for the preschoolers, which has been a hit as well. read more

After I took a tour of this "school" for my infant, I wanted to do some further research. So I checked the licensee Renata Zimeny Nagy in the records. I was shocked to find this licensee had an incident where a toddler was severely burned (2nd and 3rd degree) where the staff were negligent. In fact at the time of incident, the licensee (who was also the director) was even on site. In fact KTVU did a news expose on the tragedy that occurred at her center. read more

Can you imagine Cinderella coming to life and telling stories, singing songs, and dancing with your child together in daycare? Not sure about you, but it was a big sweet surprise for us to see Cinderella and Robin Hood at Tudorka Tots' special event. After visiting lots of daycares, Tudorka Tots is a very fun one for kids. We were very happy with the teachers in Tudorka Tots, especially teacher Rosemary who is absolutely the best teacher for our toddler in her age. She is very responsible and helped a lot in our kid's language development and mastered leading the craft projects every week. As parents, we can see the difference and positive changes in our child almost every day. We are very sad to leave after one and half years due to the work location change but we will definitely cherish all the relationships made. read more

Our 8-month-old has been in the infant room since he was 5 months -- and of course, he loved it from Day 1 while I was a nervous wreck. Some context: We have an older son who attended Bright Horizons and a Montessori school before we moved to the East Bay during Covid. We also tried a home daycare and a nannyshare before landing at his current preschool. Suffice to say, we've been through the wringer when it comes to childcare and assessing what might be the best place for our kids. Tudorka, while maybe not as "academic" as the other schools (at least this isn't as obvious or apparent in how they market themselves), is a place where our baby receives warm, loving care and attention which is all we really ask for. Some highlights: 1. Renata (director) puts on extraordinary events almost 1-2x/quarter where she cooks full Thanksgiving meals (wow!), or maybe brings in a taco or ice cream truck, or even invites Cinderella (as mentioned in the other review), and gives children a safe and supervised opportunity to learn archery, and more! We actually were invited to attend the Halloween gathering prior to enrolling our baby and it was a really neat way to meet some of the other families and teachers. I don't think I've been a part of any other daycare that does this (at least not since Covid), and I really enjoy the community building aspect this provides (not to mention giving tired parents a chance to relax and enjoy a weeknight meal). It's also very nice that they let older siblings participate even if they aren't directly enrolled at Tudorka -- to me, the fact that these are free events (included in the tuition) and knowing how much effort it takes to organize and cook for 60-80+ people, says a lot about Renata and her generous spirit. 2. They use the Brightwheel app for checking in/out, tuition payment, and communication. "Daily sheets" are provided for infants where they note diaper changes, bottles/solids, and any other special notes throughout the day (with the occasional photo though they'll take more photos/video if you ask). Everything is super easy and straightforward. 3. Our 8-month-old loves his teachers, but in particular, Teacher Nadileth (Nadi for short). The other teachers joke that our son is her baby; he actually gets upset if she's not holding or taking care of him. The infant room teachers were also very attentive to our son's needs as he transitioned into Tudorka (he had only been held for naps before then, but they got him accustomed to sleeping in the crib on his own), as well as asking me to bring more milk during his first month (I didn't realize he had gone through a growth spurt and he started sleeping much better after I added another full bottle to our regimen). In short, I know he's in very good and capable hands. I admit that there were some older reviews and reports on their licensing that initially gave me pause. However, I haven't seen anything in our time at Tudorka that would be cause for concern. If anything, I wish there was a larger outdoor play space for the babies (they mostly stay inside during the winter) and I would love to see them do a refresh of their website :D (a lot of calls to action to "Call now!" :)). Overall, infant daycare is very hard to come by and Tudorka has been such a pleasant surprise and really, the best place for our baby. Highly recommend if you want a socially/ethnically diverse, down to earth, and community-oriented childcare experience. read more

This became a safe haven for our daughter after pulling her out of a bad situation. Couldn't ask for more- the school is play based, but still has a very neat STEM class on a weekly basis. I happened to be present for a class on gears and pulleys and lifts, and actually saw preschoolers fully engaged. The demos were spot on. Kids get tons of outdoor play and are happy and well adjusted. A special shout out to Ms Fiorella and Ms Monique, who are always super loving and caring. read more

My baby started Tudorka when I went back to work after my maternity leave. He was just shy of 4 months old. It was extremely anxiety provoking to leave him with someone else but when he was at Tudorka I felt very confident that he was being well taken care of. It felt like the caregivers really connected with my son and his personality, especially Shasta! Ultimately we decided to switch daycares because we found a spot that was much closer to our house and had a better staff to baby ratio but I would not hesitate to send my son back to Tudorka! read more

My daughter transferred to Tudorka just after her first birthday. The team did an amazing job with her transition, which was difficult at first, in a matter of weeks we went from crying during drop offs to her running inside happy to play with her friends. Since starting her communication skills have flourished and her swim skills, through their partnership with Ohana is amazing. We love the parent activities and really feel like apart of a community and not just a place where we drop our daughter. read more

My two children attended Tudorka for years, with my daughter attending from 3.5 to 5 and my son from 9 mos to 4.5. We really appreciated the care and support that the teachers and staff at Tudorka provided our children and family overall. As busy working parents with no family in town, we saw the team as an integral part of our support system. As essential workers, Tudorka was really there for us during the pandemic. Our children loved their teachers (and continue to talk about them years later) and we really appreciated the STEM, music, and soccer programs. Both us and the children made great friends who we hope to keep for years to come. We found Tudorka to offer a fun, educational, and supportive environment for our children. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: My son, who is now 5 and in Kindergarten, went to the Campus site from when he was 6 months old until we moved out of the area this last May. He is thriving in Kindergarten and I think that Tudorka played a huge role in his success. He is a great communicator as well as cooperator, which is partly due to his experiences there. My daughter, almost 3, went to Tudorka at 3 months and was also there until we moved. She would still be there if we didn't move out of the area. We were all very sad to leave. They are both (as are my husband and I) still friends with the kids/families that we met there. We had a great time watching our kids grow there. It's play based, the Site Director is inventive, informative, and caring, and it's a safe place to bring our children when we can't be with them. There are educational themes that vary from seasonal to age-appropriate interest, and monthly (emailed -thank you!) newsletters about what the different age groups are learning about. Our busy preschooler came home with new songs, words (including Spanish), and ideas regularly. Field trips are incorporated for the older kids, as well. The teachers, some of whom have been there since our preschooler started attending as an infant, are all very warm and are never remiss to fill me in on my children's day - be it crawling for the little one or learning a new song or saying something of particular interest for the big one. They have helped with developmental milestones from giving up the pacifier to potty training, and are very supportive of and sensitive to our individual priorities and needs as parents. We genuinely feel that our children are well-cared for here. Communication with the Site Director is easy - both in person and/or via email should you prefer. She is very knowledgeable about childhood development, cares very much about the kids she works with, and has been the Site Director since we started. We never had a lot of interaction with the owner, and we were fine with that - Ms. Mia was wonderful. I think that your child is the best and most accurate gauge of whether or not a daycare/preschool is a positive place for them to be - and when our preschooler happily runs into the classroom and our baby reaches out to their caregiver in the infant room at drop off, I can take that as a "Yes." I would highly recommend this facility to prospective parents. read more

Tudorka Tots was truly heaven sent for our family and my daughter. She is my first and I was so sad to have to put her in daycare but she loved every second with the other babies and the teachers were always actively engaged with her. Renata is a great director and it is really a happy and healthy environment, we are moving back East and we will really miss this daycare. Highly recommend!! read more

My son started at Tudorka when he was 18 months old and it was his first experience with care outside of myself or his Grandma. I couldn't have picked a better place, the staff are super warm and attentive and he felt welcome from the beginning. I credit the amazing care team there with helping to ease the transition so quickly. The love and warmth they have shown my son is incredibly special and I highly recommend them! They are great communicators too and keep you highly informed with what is going on each day which I really appreciate. read more

Our daughter has been attending this school since she was five months old and we have nothing but positive things to say. The care givers are welcoming, communicative, responsible, professional, and we trust them. Our daughter has a medical condition that requires she gets meds twice per day: they have never missed a dose and she's 14 months now. Absolutely outstanding. They have a relationship with the pool on site and our daughter is able to have weekly swim lessons that they help facilitate. She is always excited when I drop her off and happily reaches out for the care givers. We are very happy with Tudorka Tots and feel lucky we found them. read more

All my three kids attended Tudorka Tots. One in the infant room, the other one in preschool and the other one in pre k . Teachers are always warm welcoming the children. They receive them with hugs and breakfast ready. If you need anything from them, they are always eager to help. The owner and director of the site is Renata and she is always on top of everything, she makes sure everything is flowing the way it should. She is there participating with the kids and throws the best parties for the parents and kids such as for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The reason why we left is because we had to move, we are so sad since our kids loved it here. I recommend this school for your kiddos.!! read more

We were lucky enough to enroll our daughter Amelia in Tudorka's daycare as an infant. She's now turning two next week and about to move out of the toddler class. All of the teachers have been wonderful and enthusiastic. Activities are tailored to age appropriate levels and emphasize play and creativity! She almost always comes home with sand in her shoes and loves getting outdoors. The hours fit our needs and an added perk is the monthly parents night out! Highly recommended!! read more

I forgot to post my review after my tour in June 2015. I left crying. Will never send my 2 yr old. The tour lasted 10 min. Is that really all she had to tell me? We walked to the infant area. The infants were on the opposite side of the play area alone while the two caretakers sat on their phone. As soon as they say me they quickly put their phone away. I asked the director why they were on their phone and she didn't know what to say and said they text to communicate to each other lol. The older children would not stop yelling. No control over them and the lady was complaining about how the orher caretaker was late, again. read more

We have been sending our son to this day care from four months, and he is now ten months old. He has really blossomed under the care of Turdorka Tots, and he especially loves Ms. Mia and Ms. Wendy. I think that this daycare has helped him to become social - he loves other babies and loves being around people. At daycare, we see him playing with toys, with other babies, and really enjoy being there. Plus, they offer a daily menu of food for the babies, and our son eats well. We are happy with our decision to send our son to this daycare and recommend it to others. read more

We have been at Tudorka Tots' Campus Drive location for 3.5 years now and don't have anything but positive things to say. Our son is now in their Preschool Program and getting ready to transition to their Pre-K Program and our daughter is in their Toddler Class and getting ready to transition to the Preschool. Their caretakers are very patient and loving and always communicate with me at pickup on how their day was overall as well as specifics on the highlights and, on those not so good days, what they need to work on. I know that my children are loved and taken care of during the day when I can't be with them. The Site Director, Mia, is awesome. She has been there since we started and plays such a significant role in my children's lives and at the daycare. As a family with two full-time working parents and two children, there is not much time in the day to sit down and "teach" my kids their colors, numbers, letters, etc. But we don't have to worry about that because Mia and her team excel at this. The story I tell everyone is when my son started pointing out letters to me and telling me what they were. I couldn't believe it, as I hadn't done anything but sing the alphabet song to him at that point. So I knew that this was attributed to what he was learning at Tudorka Tots. And they teach them through everyday play rather than in a sit-down ditto sheet formal manner. We love Tudorka Tots so much that even when me moved from Oakland to Richmond, we kept our children enrolled, as I can't imagine them anywhere else or anyone else taking care of them until they go off to Kindergarten. read more

Our son loves Tudorka Tots! Tudorka provides everything - play-based learning, lots of fun, exploring, stimulation, and even accommodations for us needy parents! Mia, Danielle and Ashley are so attentive to all of the toddlers on Campus Drive and the children are in a safe environment. When we drop our son off in the mornings, we leave him with a smile. When we return at the end of the day, he's still smiling! That's a good sign! And the cost is so reasonable and Renata is so flexible during these hard economic times. Try Tudorka Tots-you won't be disappointed! read more

We've been parents at the East Hills Tudorka site for over 3 years, and currently have two children attending. What can I say? We've had a great time watching our kids grow here. It's play based, the Site Director is inventive, informative, and caring, and it's a safe place to bring our children when we can't be with them. There are educational themes that vary from seasonal to age-appropriate interest, and monthly (emailed -thank you!) newsletters about what the different age groups are learning about. LOVE this place. Love the staff and the site. My daughter started a week ago and comes home happy and excited and full of chatter (she is 2). My two children have both started their formative years at Tudorka Tots as infants, toddlers, and my older through preschool (left for TK). My younger son is in the Twos group now. Their Hungarian Grandpa proudly/fondly jokes that his two grandchildren attend "The Hungarian University" because the multiculturally diverse caregivers are under the direction of a Hungarian Director, Renata, and he is thrilled that chicken paprikash is sometimes on their hot lunch menu (that's right...a CHEF prepares everything from fresh produce baby puree for babies to warm home cooked lunches for the children every day & all food from breakfast, lunch, organic milk and snacks are included in tuition. Happy busy working parents here knowing their food is even better than what we would probably make at home!!). My husband and I agree that Tudorka is much more than a standard daycare center, and though not a university, it offers enrichment programs and opportunities that are almost never found at a small school or even most elementary schools. Our older son participated in Soccer Shots right there on Tudorka's grassy yard, started Spanish lessons through Hola Amigos there in his classroom, my younger son just started swim lessons through Ohana Aquatics once a week right there at the pool (that's right, a POOL, folks!) and both boys enjoy the music classes. We haven't tried the yoga classes yet, but point is that's offered, too. And all of this DURING the SCHOOL DAY WHILE WE ARE WORKING. The caring, professional Tudorka Tots teachers who treat our children like their own family help get the kids ready for these activities which are run by the experts in each respective program. And perhaps our first impression is among the most lasting because it is felt daily, which is that Tudorka Tots sits in the Oakland Hills amidst gorgeous forests, gardens and has a sweeping, amazing view of the Bay. The classrooms are bright and darling. We live in a city, yet the environment is a total, private, protected, gorgeous natural oasis for children. My son is always so happy to go to school, and so happy when I come pick him up, giving his teacher big loving hugs. The teachers there are our village helping to raise our boys, and it is clear that the love, trust, joy and sense of family is well established and a two-way street. And as a final note, my job has some special circumstances, and the Director has been more than accommodating and flexible to work with our family on a tuition plan to meet our needs. She doesn't have to, but she does, and that loyalty and sense of community has been there for our family from Day 1. read more

Our daughter started at Tudorka Tots when she was 10 months old and is not just turning 3. It has been a great experience for all of us. She has moved from the toddler class to the 2's class and now has begun preschool where she is thriving. The teachers have all been wonderful, positive, supportive, communicative and they really care for our kids! That alone makes it easier to leave her each day but I think the best thing about Tudorka is that is play based and thoughtfully so. There is just enough structure to provide a sense of security for our littles and enough freedom for them to explore and learn and grow. The Campus Drive facility is big and has plenty of outdoor and indoor space to accommodate kids energy in all seasons. While I cannot say that any daycare or preschool is "affordable"- Turdorka is reasonable in comparison to many and they provide healthy, food (snacks and lunch) as part of tuition. They also do things to build the community like field trips and parties and events outside of school that include families. I recommend Tudorka wholeheartedly. read more

My son has been in the loving care of Tao, Mary and Cathy at the Campus Dr location for 4 months now. He loves it at Tudorka. All of the caretakers at Tudorka are loving, patient and kind. They are very attentive to my son and all of the kids I witness when I am there to pick him up. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience there. He is always happy, smiling, clean and well fed when we pick him up. We love the "Parents Night Out". It has been instrumental in my husband and I focusing on our relationship post baby and we are very thankful for it. Not to mention it is the most affordable option out there with people my son already knows and loves. In addition to all of that, the site director, Mia, has always been a pleasure to work with. Absolutely love this place! My boy started when he was about 15 months in the infant room. He was kind of bored there, but the caretakers were caring and really got to know him. When he turned 18 months, they transitioned him downstairs to the toddler program. I really appreciated the transition they provided: it started with short visits to the toddler teachers each day for about a week, then half day visits, and then we went full time to the toddler program. My boy completely thrived in this program! He has been developing in his social, communication and critical thinking skills tremendously. Each day I pick him up, it seems like he learned a new word, phrase or action. It's a sign of a good program when he doesn't want to leave at the end of the day, and talks about his awesome teachers (Ms. Cass, Ms. Brandi, and Ms. Danielle) on the days he doesn't go in. At 2 years he transitioned to the 2-year program as a precursor to pre-K, and they had a similar gentle transition so that he gets used to the preschool teachers. The whole program is very well thought out. I also appreciate the food, snacks and milk that is included. During the summer break I am taking my boy to another program that doesn't provide food, and packing lunch each day is a pain! Makes me appreciate Tudorka Tots more. They also have two large playgrounds, and a fun music teacher on Wednesdays. The teachers and the Site Director are very responsive whenever I have had questions or concerns, and respect/support the way we want to approach naps and potty training. I cannot say enough good things about this place! read more
