The building is newer, 60's on a vast campus with more parking than most schools. The auditorium holds about 800 on the main floor and 1400 including the balcony. AV systems are up to date and the acoustics sounded good. They are easier to rent in Summer when school is out and they have their own security. Staff was solid.

All of the kids got through college and graduate school. BUT our experience was with Honors students. We have had exchange students who have been in the 'regular' classes and some of those classes are pretty sad. Not all, but some. We despair over the History curriculum in particular. The counselors are wonderful, but this is not an OES or a Jesuit, where the push to help kids get into private college is a priority. The relatively-new principal, Brian Chatard, is definitely making headway in improving the standards and pushing the school more towards responsibility and excellence. The school is solid, though not exceptional.

No one wants to learn Latin. It's a dead language like what the heck! All the homework is very stressful and really drians out your energy whoch could affect your mental health. Parents, if you love your kid's mental health,don't take them here. They say bad things about public schools but not all public schools are bad. They expect them to finish "school work" and "assignments" even though they are pre-school and there are no true assignments for that age. (At least there shouldn't be) We had our child in first grade at the beginning of the year and removed him due to many blatant circumstances... one was due to a combined 1st and 2nd grade experience which he wasn't prepared for the combined learning and greatly divided attention based on acumen. They said they treat both separately but we were sent home with homework that was NOT for a first grader. This brings up a greater issue. We believe this school thinks of themselves as a higher/further educational school for bright children. They are not. They give work to children without the teaching/learning they need to actually accomplish the work. Unless you are the culture/lifestyle that also teaches your child at home, your child may be lost or left behind at this school. This has by far been the most "by the book/rules" "school" that I have seen for CHILDREN as young as three years old. Do we really think that three year olds should "finish their homework"? Do three year olds even need homework!? I believe enrolling my son in this school was one of the worst decisions I have made in my raising him to this date. He has been thriving and multitudes happier since attending public school I can't imagine why he hated this school so much.

I moved to oregon and finished all my primary education, came back to so cal for college and have been here ever since. i've lived in la longer than anywhere else. yet why do i call oregon home? maybe i don't want to be an angeleno. or maybe home is where you go to high school? whenever i am home in beaverton, oregon. i tend to drive around my area to see how things have changed and i always drive by sunset. i slow down and lower my window and just linger and look at the sign about the new game, or school play and let it all come back to me. how i remember high school and how it really was, is probably 2 different things. i thought i was a character, memorable. i remember speaking to mr. shlegal, a teacher i really got along with, a lot of time had passed but he didn't remember me. he was sorry but told me class clowns like me come through ever year. i remember mr. coply my ap econ and ap history teacher. i saw him some place and he didn't recognize me. i thought i was an econ and history prodigy but probably one of me every year... though one person i swear does recognize me is my old wrestling coach, coach parker. haha i always got this notion he still holds a grudge when i quit the team my senior year. whats funny is i still wrestle and compete to this very day, but now its more like ufc (not useful funny cool but ultimate fighting championship) style. i remember when westview was built and our school looked old and small and they took half our students and all our best athletes...freakin westview!!! i remember friends becoming enemies, friends being separated, because of new school boundaries... i remember break dancing in the halls. listening to my walkman at all times. wearing my letterman's jacket as a badge of honor and pride. pride... some kids hate their high school, or their experience. high school was rough. but needed to make me who i am. i made life long friends i still talk to, not a lot of people can say that. my best friend from then is my best friend now. my car from then is my car still. hey who says sam can't keep a long term relationship! i even still wrestler dammit haha. i still got school pride. i remember blushing when girls used to ask me for my jackets or if i could show them a move, or for me to dance a lil bit. i remember making home movies with my friends with hopes of becoming a filmmaker. i remember writing a lot. i remember picking on a lot of other people and smacking kids around. the bullied becomes the bully sometimes. i remember smoking behind the school, i remember drinking at my friends house and falling in love with liquor. I remember catcher in the rye and robert cormier books and the great gatsby and ethan frome and crime and punishment and so many more. i remember garretty and zinn. i remember warm summers eating outside, laughing, and care free eating orange creamcicles. before i was an adult. i was a human being. it was almost idyllic, or thats how i remember it. i remember what it felt like to be at home. i remember pride. sunset apollos.

Every year the Principal takes AWAY from these kids. There used to be amazing things done for the…read morekids but now she shuts down so many ideas because she doesn't want to stay at the school later than 3:30 or 4pm. Well dude it's kind of YOUR job. Events are all run by PTO and volunteers except for choir concerts, science fair, art fair etc. and they do a decent job. I want to volunteer IN my kids class. But there aren't many opportunities for that as they reach higher grades. The principal is aloof and doesn't have a level of investment at the school. The staff (aside from her,) are wonderful. So caring and so supportive. She lacks follow up, initiative and just general CARE. She can't even pronounce the names of long term teachers. What garbage. That staff cares SO much for the students. And the Vice Principal SHOULD be running the show. She is everything a leader should be. I cannot even grasp how the Principal makes the salary she does with the true lack of care and investment in the school. My son has a year left and then we are moving on. Aside from her it's been wonderful but she has truly made the school LESS in every way.

Our son started at Faith Bible this past September as a high school freshman. We were a little…read moreapprehensive thinking maybe he might have a difficult time starting in high school when many of his schoolmates had likely been together since elementary and junior high school. Our concerns were unwarranted and I cannot say enough positive things about our experiences over the past several months. The staff at Faith are fabulous.The staff all go out of their way to create a positive learning environment that strives to teach our children to become responsible citizens. They push him academically but do so in a spiritual, caring and attentive manner. The class sizes are small and foster a positive learning environment. There truly is a "Faith Family" feeling to all of our interactions with the school, both in and out of the classroom. We couldn't feel more welcome or blessed. Our son has made many friends and most importantly he comes home happy each and every day. We raved so much about our experiences that our dear friends are moving their daughter from a different Christian private high school to Faith in 2020-21. If you are looking for a Christian school you should consider Faith; I have no reservations in fully recommending them.

Attended the spring band concert. Jazz, concert, symphonic and wind ensemble bands treated us to a…read morenight of varied and skillfully done pieces. This is a large hs (~2500) so each offering was medium to large in scale. We enjoyed it immensely but the wind ensemble captured our attention most due to my g'son composing and conducting one of the pieces. All in all a great program and these students should be proud! Well done!

This school is the best for any child who wants to make new friends and learn lots from a bunch of…read morethe most supportive and kind teacher I have every had. ignore all reviews that say otherwise but as a student that was so proud to go to this school I made so many new friends including the teachers and have made so many remarkable memories. during COVID it was hard for this school to adapt to all the new changes but because off the amazing staff and principle Minor managed to turn back to its regular fun and joy. The PE classes keep you healthy with lots of creative fun and games that excitingly change through out the week. And Music that you also learn from none other than the amazing Heidi Lentz will make you get a head start in perfect vocals and lots of fun game with instruments. I may be 13 years old but as a student who went to this school k-5th I would highly recommend this to any parents looking for a school for there kids.

The school was great until they started pushing Comprehensive Sexuality Education agenda on my…read morechild. The teachers are great but obviously have to abide by ODE guidelines. I think it's inappropriate for my kid's third grade teacher to tell my kid and the class that they could choose to be a boy, a girl, or a neither on any given day by holding up a number line with a boy on one side, girl on the other, and neither in the middle. The part that angers me the most is that there was no phone call or email to parents so that we can follow up with our own child. I had to find out by asking her if she knew what "gender" meant, and that's when she told me. I fought for gay rights alongside my gay brother and gay sister in the 90s and 00s, so I am not a hater. But I do believe that telling a YOUNG child they could choose to change their gender, planting that seed and confusion in their heads, knowing the psychological and physical effects including mutilation of bodies as well as hormone therapy causing horrible side effects and possibility of being sterile, is just crossing the line in my book. I asked my daughter how she felt when she heard her teacher say this, and she replied "I forgot what 1 + 1 was".
