The Van is all over the Portland Metro area at different times a year. I had no idea the Van would be part of this Compassion Clinic. It was awesome. What a great community event. I sent Jamie a previous video that I had filmed, and he reviewed it before my session. We spent the hour going over very specific, helpful feedback he had for me (related to hand position, gesturing, speech volume, and marking up the written content that'd be on the teleprompter), and I was so amazed at how much better I felt about how I'd do in the filming after just one hour of working with him. The filming itself the following week went fantastic; I felt prepared, confident, and so much more natural in front of the camera than I had previously. I do hope to work with Jamie again - if I could get that much help after just one session, I can't imagine how much I'd improve after a series! Highly recommended.

However, it became clear that the school is not well-equipped to handle children who may need a little more patience, flexibility, or understanding. Rather than working with different personalities and developmental needs, the approach felt rigid and one-size-fits-all. There didn't seem to be much effort to adapt or support kids who fall outside of that "typical" mold, which can be discouraging as a parent. A preschool environment should help all children grow, not just those who already fit neatly into expectations. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience here.
