Tried this place on a whim. We were working in Winter Haven for the week and didn't want to eat at the usual fast food haunts. So we looked up restaurants and sorted by distance and landed on Tsunami Sushi. The staff was incredible, making recommendations and even suggested some modifications. Totally awesome. Now to the food; it was amazing. We got a salad, some sushi and poke tacos. The poke tacos were the winner as favorite dish. Terrible wait time to order and wait so long to get food too , it took them about 40 min to get our food and I only blame it in the owners because they are short staff and waitresses are running everywhere like chickens on a run .... My kids love sushi and after a day at Legoland, I was happy to oblige with their favorite request. Service was shared by all the servers and they were happy to help each other out, which I very much prefer over section only assistance. We started off with the salted edamame and seaweed salad for an appetizer. My seven-year-old boys love edamame, and there was plenty enough for everyone in the portion. The seaweed salad was just a seaweed salad should be, but delivered in a very cute boat and very eye appealing as the appetizer. Then came our rolls, and we had rolls on rolls! There are so many delicious things on the menu that we just couldn't say no. I would recommend all of what we had: Atlantic, Malibu, Negihana, Hawaiian, Samurai Ninja Roll, and Diablo Roll! You really can't go wrong with the rolls here. Incredibly tasty, affordable and an all around enjoyable experience! Came here because the ratings were super high. Not sure if we caught staff on a bad night, but it wasn't my favorite. The rice was old and dry, and we ordered these tuna sushi wonton chips that sat on the sushi bar table so long by the time they got to us it was soggy. The tuna itself and the fish in the sushi was very fresh, and the servers were nice. It's gorgeous inside, I'd be willing to give another try. read more

Never disappoints! I am so thankful for this consistent gem. The sushi is always the right temperature which is super important. If it's raw, it should be cold and fresh, if cooked it should be temp appropriate and flavorful. Did I mention creative?! Our family took a quick trip to Legoland. We wanted to splurge on yummy food, and found this gem. Not sure if this place is usually pretty busy, as it was spring break week, and we dined there on a Tuesday. The wait time was not long at all, possibly 10 minutes. Service was great and ambiance pretty typical for a sushi restaurant. The star of the show was the food AND the prices. The food was really scrumptious. Probably took a few minutes longer than we were hoping for, but good things come to those who wait, right? And the prices?! compared to what we are used to in South Florida, these rolls are a steal. The place was clean the two servers working were very friendly they worked together as a team. Making sure customers always have what they need. We had the rodeo roll, California Roll and Krabby Roll all had great taste. The wasabi definitely will clean your sinuses out. Sodas (Pop) are served in cans with a glass of ice. Hubby is a native NYC'er and heretofore skeeved out by the idea of local sushi... However, the stars aligned (along with that 2nd Manhattan) and I was able to convince him to give it a whirl. This place is BY FAR the best sushi place in Polk County. I've seen these people take so much shit from customers (I'm a regular) but they're the sweetest group of people you'll ever meet. Theyre also very aware and cautious of allergies. I have severeballergies to certain items on the menu and have never once had an issue with them!So come try it for yourself! This location on Cypress Gardens Blvd. is conveniently located right around the corner from Legoland, making it a popular stop for tourists too. It is located in the same shopping plaza as Tijuana Flats, Tips & Tods Nail Salon, and Cypress Cigars, near the Dollar Tree. They have a clean establishment with a wide variety of sushi and sashimi options on their menu. Their sushi and sashimi are beautiful, bountiful, and always taste fresh. The atmosphere is nice, but not extraordinary. Seating is limited during peak times, and they have some odd hours of operation. The staff is always friendly end Love you and usually attentive. Because they are adjacent to the cigar shop, there is occasionally a faint cigar odor, which is not a problem if you like cigars, but can otherwise be distracting to those who cannot discern the occasional odor. On the other hand, if you like cigars, just walk next door after dinner from a great selection. I love, love, love the sashimi and nigiri at Tsunami Sushi. The Kendra Roll, Firecracker Roll, and Volcano Roll are very good and will satisfy those with bigger appetites. If you're looking for a more romantic atmosphere, the location on Central Avenue in downtown is better and provides access to the local bars, if that's your thing. read more

I came here on a Saturday night after coming out of Legoland, my 4 year old daughter was asking for ramen, which she loves. Unfortunately they did not have ramen, but they had Udon, and the waitress was super nice, not only about the Udon's special instructions, but also about bringing the udon first and quickly. Due to covid, we were forced to use grubhub. I placed the order through the app and called the restuarant to verify, they were super kind to verify the order and the food came sooner than they had said, that's always a plus!! We ordered the lobster roll, yummly crumbly, and the paradise roll. They were so delicious. The only downside I would say, is the rolls were kind of small. They were only 6 pieces to each roll and I'm used to loaded rolls for the price. So it was a little disappointing but I would still come back. This is a great spot for sushi, not to be confused with the one in downtown Winter Haven off Central. In my humble opinion the service and sushi are way better here. We are vegan and they will make vegan rolls in a variety of styles so you get an assortment - ask for the Adams Rolls. We have never been disappointed. Perhaps it's due to the slow down in the amount of people going out to dinner these days, but the fish was not fresh. I was unable to eat it. I will say that as soon as I mentioned a problem with the food, it was quickly taken away and a replacement order was offered which I decided to go with fully cooked food to be safe.
