Steve was very easy to work with and communicate with via email and phone. He checked in with us several times to make sure he understood our vision for the reception. His website is great, he posts his prices clearly so there are no surprises and he has downloadable forms for the order of events and type of music you want. We had a complicated wedding reception since we had a mix of Latino, Filipino, older and young guests. Somehow, Steve and DJ Laz (who announced things in Spanish) managed to keep everyone dancing all night long with a great mix of music that kept us all happy. He was a good MC and kept the wedding events moving. The most personal part of our wedding was the Slideshow that Steve put to music for us and played at the reception. When planning our wedding, there wasn't even a debate on who we were going to trust with the highly important but often underestimated task of being emcee/dj at the event. If you ask anyone about TSPdj you will hear nothing but rave reviews. Steve is the definition of professional and pays close attention to every last detail. His experience is reassuring, even to someone like me who has a hard time trusting that other people will do things the way I envision or want them to be. We won a 3 hour session through a silent auction at Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts in May, we contacted them July 10 with a wedding date of January 19, 2019. Right off he tried to up sell us, we told him we only wanted the 3 hours. He kept telling us that he needed the contract, we told him to send the contract with the 3 hours and he kept stalling. On Monday, August 20 my daughter talked with him and he said he needed the contract and deposit, she told him she only wanted the 3 hours but was going to add on the ceremony for $175 (the ceremony doesn't add hours) and to send the contract, he then tried to call but it was almost 9 p.m. She told him to call the next night and we could do a conference call her mom (me) was already in bed. He told her he would call on Thursday night, instead he emailed and told her the date was no longer available that someone had returned their signed contract before us, except he would never give us a contract so we couldn't turn it. Today my husband talked to him and he said he couldn't do a wedding in 3 hours, it just doesn't work. I've always heard great things about this dj and was excited to win this, and we had plans on paying him extra in tips, but that won't be happening. He basically held our date until someone came through with cash to pay for it instead, I have no doubt that any of this would of been an issue if he never received another reservation for that date. read more

Steve of TSPDJ made our wedding exactly what we wanted...a party to remember!! We got to witness Steve in action first hand at a close friend's wedding we attended about a year before ours. He played great music and had everyone dancing. There was no question that we were hiring him to do our own wedding. My husband only had 3 requests for the wedding and one was to have Steve be the DJ. Steve was not only an amazing DJ, but he was also an amazing emcee who knew exactly how to work the crowd, and keep things going. He created an atmosphere and experience that was exactly what we had imagined. Steve was extremely personable and at no point made you feel like a client, but more like a friend. He took the time to meet with us to discuss what our musical likes and dislikes were and what our vision for the event was. Steve did an incredible job with our wedding. He played all the right songs at all the right times, and pleasantly surprised us with a few picks that fit one of our themes, in addition to our requests. He had no trouble guiding the crowd throughout the night, and even mixed up the dancing with a game to get the stragglers out onto the dance floor. Seriously Folks, you need to use Steve Allard as your wedding DJ! I am SO happy with my decision and here is why: Steve is so nice and professional. When my fiance (now hubby) and I met with him we knew immediately that he had a ton of experience and really knew what he was doing. We felt so confident that he would make the day wonderful- and he did! Steve's prices are leaps and bound more reasonable than anything I could find in the Sacramento area (seriously.. like 50%+ cheaper). He didn't even charge me a travel fee to drive from Yuba City to Auburn, which is a decent drive. He was SO helpful and knowledgeable about good music to pick for the ceremony and even how the entire reception is supposed to run. He kept checking in with me quite often, letting me know I had 30 minutes to see the remaining tables before the cake cutting.. things like that. Totally helpful because the entire day was a blur and I really needed that direction! One of the BIGGEST perks of using him, in my opinion, is that he brings along his assistant who actually takes photos during your ceremony and reception!! Oftentimes wedding photographers do not take a ton of dancing photos because they all look the same, but I am so glad that I have them anyway! I feel like I got an extra photographer for free! Steve plays a really fun table dismissal game too if you are having a buffet. My husband and I had an awesome time watching it all unfold.
