Currently the place is a disaster and surprised the health department hasn't shut them down. The locker rooms a littered with trash, dust and mold in shower. Who knows about the pools. Sauna's floor has never been cleaned and definitely growing someone science project under the wood boards. I think upper management should've thought out the consequences prior to releasing the cleaning company because the Y management is doing a piss poor job with maintenance and cleaning of the facility. Truly wonder what would happen if the health department would come in . My guess they would shut them down to get up to par with health safety . Clean the facilities please.

The lockers are $6 for the fist hour for a large one and then $1.50 per every half hour exceeding that first hour. They do have free cubbies on the floor also. Check in took a minute do the wavers online while in line or before even getting there to save time and don't forget your Billy bee socks!!!

The indoor pool is on the small side, but it's also (as far as I know) the only indoor pool that doesn't require an apartment lease or hotel room booking within the city of Albany, which makes it the biggest indoor pool in town. The gym facilities also look pretty extensive, but I haven't actually come for the gym yet -- I'm in it for the swimming. The staff I've interacted with have been universally nice and helpful. My biggest complaint would be that the indoor pool closes so early, I assume for staffing reasons. Also, keep in mind that they require you to reserve your lane ahead of time for the indoor pool. I like the policy, since it saves you from going to the gym, getting changed and showering only to realize that there are no free lanes, but if you like to be more spontaneous about your workouts the JCC pool might not be for you.

There are a heck of a lot of services and activities associated with the JCC. The largest would seem to be the nursery school, the gym and the pool. If you had a nursery school aged kid, and enjoyed to lift weights and swim for some good low impact cardio, you would probably never leave this place. But that's just not me.

DO NOT send your infant here! They are so horrible to them and they don't even care. I complained…read moremultiple times about the way my daughter was being treated and manager would say "oh we will talk to the staff" .. nothing changes. My daughter would be filthy everyday. She had plenty of spare clothes there and she'd always be so dirty in the clothes she was brought in wearing. they wouldn't feed her. I'd send in 4 bottles, she would only be fed 2 ALL DAY. She started solids, I'd send in breakfast and lunch they would never feed her lunch. If they did, they mark it she ate most of it but she didn't even eat any of it. I watched them feeding her a couple bites then put her back on the floor and she started crying because she was still hungry and wanted more. She was there from October until January when I finally pulled her. 3 MONTHS of neglect my poor baby went through! I do NOT recommend sending your child here!! If I could leave zero stars I would!

We have been inside this place before for other events (RV shows come to mind) but now my son it…read moretaking soccer classes here so I had a reason to pay more attention. Upon walking in there is a nice sports gear store, then an open area with lots of comfy couches and what seems to be a bar to order food (perhaps while you are waiting for your soccer games to start, or to relax afterwards). Our son is taking a toddler soccer class and I mean that in the most general sense of the word. Basically, the kids (ages 2-4 it seems) run around, go through obstacle courses, kick balls here and there, play with hula hoops, sing songs, and learn social skills. It is a fun experience, though certainly it can occur other places besides here. The instructor really impressed me by memorizing the kids' names without prompting by the second class. How he did it, I don't know. I don't like soccer so I really can't judge their soccer facilities. But as kid's events go, this seemed to be exactly what was advertised and our son had fun running around and playing with the other kids.
