We heard about Baths by Shay from a friend several months ago, and based upon a visit, we engaged…read morethem to do a tub-to-shower conversion with a new bath floor and vanity countertop with associated plumbing. On the agreed-upon start date, they didn't show up until after 4:00pm. They worked many days that week, although not all day each day. They had 90% of the work finished by the end of the second week, although we estimated that the job could have been finished in a week if they had worked full days all week. We are now in the middle of the 6th week, and the job still isn't finished. They have only worked a few hours in the past 4 weeks, and are well aware that they have a bit more to do. Communication about when they will show up has been sorely lacking. We even wrote them a letter a week ago asking when we could expect the job to be completed... and they never responded in any way. The work was fairly high quality... we liked their work and product, but there were several little hiccups, not the least of which our toilet was unusable for 4 weeks, and the sink faucets don't work (missing set screws), and the sink stopper doesn't work (missing part). New baseboards were installed, but by someone much less skilled than we would have expected or liked. Further, two of the 'planks' in the new floor are not 'snapped' together which leaves a gap between them that would allow any water to get under the floor. We're disappointed that communication has been poor as far as them keeping us informed what and when to expect things to be done, and job completion. Very nice people, but unfortunately we can't recommend them for the above stated reasons. It is really too bad that these people don't do what they say and have such poor customer relations. Half way through week three of the job, they were nearly finished, and their 'lead guy' asked if we'd trust them to come back if he asked for payment. I agreed, and wrote them a check, but now regret that decision. I wanted to be patient and give them a really good chance to make things right, so in the middle of week six I texted Melissa asking when they planned to finish our job. She called me three hours later and was somewhat apologetic and said she was not aware that our job was not finished. She assured me that although they were going out of town for the weekend, she would personally come by on Monday morning and get us taken care of. It is now Friday afternoon and we've heard nothing from them... no visit, call or text and this is the end of week seven. I really don't believe they are going to finish our job.

I purchased two bathroom counter tops from this business in April 2017. They delivered one with an…read moreobvious blemish on it and one that was warped and would not lay flat on the cabinet. We heard the installation team commenting to each other about one top having a problem, but we did not see it for a while. They certainly did not mention it to us. They did no installation other than dropping the tops on to the counters and putting silicon on the joint with the wall. I asked it that was the extent of their installation and they said it was. When we complained, the company sent a man to "repair" the blemish. We showed him our other problems: - Warped corner on one top, not secured to cabinet, - Sink moved about one inch from previous counter making the plumbing not match up, - Faucet holes drilled closer to the edge than previous counter giving us barely enough room to install our tile. It appears accurate measurements were not made of the previous counter top. The company called and said they would send out a manager to meet with us. That never happened. Instead, they said they would send the installers out to put a shim under the warped corner. No one said they were sorry or offered to replace the defective items. At this point, I lost confidence in them. I hired a bathroom remodeling company to tell me what to do. They came up with a plan to reduce the warping, to properly secure the counter tops to the cabinets, said they would re do the plumbing to make it mate properly and adjust the tile to squeeze it in behind the misplaced faucets. This will cost me hundreds of dollars but will hopefully make the countertops usable. I paid close to $3000 for these counter tops and new faucets. In no way were these products worth that price. The company obviously does not do quality control before delivery (releasing a product that was warped and another with an obvious flaw) nor after the sale (sending out a tech who took pictures of the problems but no management offer to try to put things right other than a band-aid fix.) Suggest future buyers be extremely cautious and investigate better options than this company.
