I opted for a bridal trial to test out hair and makeup looks I wanted months in advance. Lisa is very friendly and easy to vibe with, which made working with her enjoyable. Lisa followed up with detailed notes after my trial where I could make final adjustments as needed. I booked my engagement shoot the same day, which worked out well. I even tested crying in my makeup (just in case!) and it held up hours later. It was storming morning of my wedding reception but Lisa stayed in contact the day before and arrived right on schedule day of. She did hair and makeup for me, my sister, and my husband. I leaned towards wanting to look more natural but with nice pop for eyes and brows. Everything turned out perfect that wedding guests complimented me and my sister's makeup looks. Lisa is also multi talented and happens to be a baker. My husband and I ordered a green tea crepe cake through her that we wanted to utilize as our cutting cake. Lisa kindly delivered it to our hotel in Napa, which worked out beautifully logistics wise. The cake was amazing and the guests who happened to get a slice too really enjoyed it as well! Highly recommend Lisa if you're looking for a makeup artist!

I have naturally curly 3b/3c hair and was worried about finding a stylist that could work with it. We had a trial beforehand- Lisa nailed the makeup and we brainstormed how to make the hair work better. On my wedding day, she nailed the hair as well- it was exactly what I wanted. She also worked with my mom and MOH- and their hair and makeup turned out great as well. She's easy to work with and upfront about prices. Gave us a timeline a week before and I sent photos of our faces/natural hair and the styles we wanted that week. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend her! **for any curly girls- I recommend styling your own hair with products you're comfortable with so your curls look exactly how you want.

My teenage son is very particular with his hair cuts. He started seeing my hairstylist but she couldn't get the haircut the way he liked (and his face after the cut will say it loud and clear). One day we decided to venture into SOLA and see if we could be seen by anyone without appointments but that was not the case so we decided to walk around and feel the vibe of the place and felt that Blanca's salon had a nice energy so we decided to book an appointment. We met with Blanca on the day of my son's appointment, she listened to him as he was explaining how he wanted his haircut and after she was done with him, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a smile on his face...that was the sign for me that everything went well and he was so happy he got the haircut based on how he instructed Blanca. After that we continued going to her and every time we have been there, the smile showed at the end of his hair cut (except for one time, but it was not her fault but my son's for trying to get a haircut that did not match his face as she cut his hair based exactly on what he said). Blanca is a great hair stylist and very professional. Just know that her salon space is very small, enough for the client and herself. Outside of her salon there are benches you can sit on to wait for your party.

Lynn, tested my hair before feeling comfortable doing it, being honest if it was not recommended, even the test strand was with care & time. With two options, a traditional perm & healthier option. Since I have long hair and wanted spiral coily hair, this took five hours, BUT, Lynn cared for every individual strand! She genuinely took her time grabbing and perfecting every strand. It looked so natural and so bouncy! It felt like such a personal experience, I felt cared for and I do not believe I would've gotten the same treatment elsewhere given my long previously dyed hair. I did research for a few years before landing on Lynn, I'm so happy I did! She even let me go with fruit for the road. Shes so kind and accommodating. She's so precious!!!!

Tina no longer works here. I goto Mindy now. Who cuts my hair perfectly in the faded Asian hair…read morethat sticks up like a microphone. Sounds funny, but eh, at least I don't have the mushroom top head look. My thick hair and the cut I want is not an easy hair cut to do. The description sounds funny, but with gel it's a clean military look or akin to school kids going to grade school. Not my thing but, the maturity aura can be fixed with longer hair on top. Believe the best way to say is it that I have a heart shaped face. That means the top of my hair should look like an egg to my preference. The haircut I want isn't for the faint. Mess up and you cannot fix it. It's why most fades on my hair type sticks out and is not flat on the sides like a flat top. Once Mindy understood I was willing to take the risk, I was rewarded in something that many hairdressers cannot cut and or is willing to do. Which is to fade free hand, then rat tail comb fade the edges on top with a clipper and texture with scissors. Mind you I watched a long time before giving her the go ahead to take the risk. Sounds a lot of work right? Hair dressers will complain doing this type of cut. It's a lot of work, will take time. Mindy does this for me. And for that I tip well. To be fair, I get my hair cut once a month. But it's usually the best way to learn as the hair has grown out and everything needs to be redone again. Note. Tip what you can, I usually tip hourly wage max to half. Mindy gets more, that's how much I like the cut. 15 to 25 percent minimum wage is a good tip. That being said Mindy takes time, is patient, and remembers you. Everything you would want in a hairdresser. I really should come every two weeks but I got things to do. Mindy does textbook style hair cutting. Which doesn't work with my hair cause you don't really expect an Asian with an Afro like hair type, thick, and straight. Takes time to learn cultured hair types. My hair is a rarity. Mindy learned quickly how to cut and tame it. Qualities of a true hair dresser. Note. I got my hair cut by Lynn too. She's good, but she's busy and I believe she understands my haircut and hair is annoying to do. The guy and new girl are good too. Just a preference and patience to be had.

It's tucked into a really quiet strip mall with plenty of parking, which already makes the whole experience feel easy and I won't lie, I love that Pets To Go is right there too, so I can turn it into a little two-for-one stop and feel extra productive that day. Ken and Kat are both amazing. Ken takes care of my mom, and Kat takes care of me and my very specific teen, which honestly says everything. She just gets it. Whether it's color or a cut, I can sit down, explain what I'm thinking, and know it's going to come out right. That kind of trust is not easy to find. One of my favorite parts though is the shampoo, which sounds small but it's not here. The back room is super quiet and relaxing, and Kat has the best head massage technique where you're sitting there thinking please don't stop yet. It turns into this whole moment instead of just part of the appointment, especially when you walk in a little stressed and walk out feeling reset. Everything is always clean, nothing feels rushed, and the whole space just has this calm energy that makes you actually enjoy being there, not just checking it off your list. I would give it 5 stars if the chairs were more comfortable. Helpful tip: Give yourself a little extra time and don't rush out. The shampoo and overall vibe here are part of what make this place so good. It's one of those spots where you go in for hair, but you leave feeling better overall, and that's why I keep coming back.

We loved her so much, my matron of honor considered flying her out to do our makeup for the reception we were having in California later that year. (Then the reality of the cost set in.) Luckily, fate led me to Vanessa Artistry / Beauty Mark Ink. Vanessa came to my house with everything ready to go--makeup, lighting and everything needed to glam us up. She was a professional perfectionist, ensuring me and my gals looked and felt our very best. We are a bunch of middle-aged women; youth was not on our side, but this pro did wonders for us! I'll admit, I was a little nervous wondering if anyone was going to be able to live up to the wonderful artist who did our makeup back in May, but my fear was for not. Vanessa was wonderful! A true artist!

This review for my August 2017 wedding is long overdue! What…read moreamazing service! From beginning to end, I had a great experience with Andrea and Vanessa. I thoroughly did my research and contacted about 15 hair and makeup artists and had a methodical spreadsheet approach on cost, what each business offered, and if they had airbrush makeup, since my friends who have gotten married before highly recommended it. Keep in mind, I am not really into makeup on a day to day basis, and I have a headful of frizzy curls that I can't manage on a daily basis. I was also nervous about my face being too overdone or not looking like myself. Vanessa and Andrea were quick to respond to emails from day one. They were flexible in dates for my hair & makeup trial, and were able to accommodate me in the bedroom of my 1 bedroom condo. I loved the way the trial went- the airbrush makeup looked flawless and my hair was awesome! PRO TIP: Schedule your hair & makeup THE SAME DAY as when you go wedding dress shopping- it REALLY helps put the entire look together and visualize how everything will look on your wedding day. MAKE SURE to add buffer time from your hair & make up appointment to getting to your dress appointment. After the trial, I wrote them notes about what I did and didn't like afterwards, and they easily accommodated me. They recommended for a fuller look that I get extensions, and Andrea came by my house once again to make sure she ordered the right color. Vanessa went into a lot of detail as to what was included in the VIP service, which is what I ended up investing in. That includes them coming to the venue and doing a touch up. Fast forward to the wedding day- they arrived on time, and they really helped set the tone of the entire day. They were mellow, easy to get along with, and my bridesmaids, mother in law and sister in law all felt at ease with them. 2 of my bridesmaids also had curly hair, and they looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL with their hair and makeup done. Everyone looked gorgeous and at the sametime, themselves. ONE MORE PRO TIP: In addition to how much Vanessa estimates for your hair & makeup, add in an extra half hour on top of that to put your dress, shoes, and jewelry on when putting your wedding timeline together. With all the hecticness, that extra half hour really was needed! I am so glad I invested in the VIP service- Vanessa and Andrea had set up in the Japanese Tea House which I had rented extra at the Piedmont Community Hall. It was a perfect setup for them. Before and after the ceremony they were on standby to touch up makeup. After shedding a few tears, this was much needed! It set up me up for my makeup & hair to last the entire night. Andrea even got off some sticky glitter that mysteriously appeared on my husband- lol! The hair and makeup was a true investment, and to be quite honest, more than I had budgeted to spend. But when I look back at my wedding pictures and videography, I am SO glad I chose Beauty Mark. I felt so beautiful and flawless on one of the biggest days of my life, which is so important on your wedding day! I would happily recommend them to any bride. They truly added to my amazing day.

This time around, my fiancé and I came in and there were 2 other people ahead of us. Perfectly fine we waited. The girl that was working was a bit younger and slower. It was finally our turn. She asked us to hold our hands on our eyelid and forehead area above the eye brow, which was completely normal but she had trouble with pulling the hairs, because she must've gone back at least 3 times back to the same spot, after she had left the area. She pulled so hard that we both had open bleeding cuts when we left. She was really young and inexperienced.
