My first encounter with Caring Angels was when I met Jason, who runs this agency. Jason is very impressive. He is exactly what you'd hope for: he listens, he reassures and provides options for a variety of services that Caring Angels provide. I ended up needing a caregiver for five hours a day, M-F. My current caregiver is Crishiel, who has been with me for four months. Crishiel is extremely cheerful, knowledgeable and smart. She pays close attention to visiting nurses and therapists who visit weekly and is able to duplicate the same procedures or therapies during the rest of the week. She is able to talk to these professionals in an articulate manner and asks good questions. She really cares and wants to help me get better. She's a good cook, too! Their bookkeeper is friendly and punctual with billing. Jason has a deep bench of caregivers and will find just the right one for you. I highly recommend Caring Angels.

My mom needed to go to the ER. I had called the paramedics, but they explained that although her situation wasn't considered an "emergency," she still needed to see a doctor. My mom is non-mobile, nonverbal, and has dementia, so finding transportation was extremely difficult. I contacted her insurance, but unfortunately, they did not cover non-emergency transportation. Kaiser provided me with a few nonprofit organizations that assist seniors, but unfortunately, none of them were able to help. I started calling private transportation companies, but because it was a Sunday, no one was available. I was desperately searching for someone who could help us. I was completely overwhelmed, stressed, and honestly, I was about to cry from frustration. Then, thankfully, I found Rami Cohen through a private transportation company. Rami listened to my situation and referred me to Delia at Golden Heart. I called Delia and explained what I needed. Without hesitation, she was already on her way to meet me and my mom. She was truly a Godsend. Delia picked us up, took my mom to the ER, and then came back about 4 hours later to pick us up and take us safely home. The first ride was cancelled by the company within less than 24 hours before the scheduled ride because they accidentally double booked. I was left scrambling, with only 2 hours left in the business day, to find alternate transportation myself. Less than 48 hours later, the 2nd ride was also cancelled by the company the day before the scheduled ride; this time, I wasn't even called and given a heads up, I just received an email notifying me that I was being refunded. When I called to find out what happened, I was told that the driver called out and so they wouldn't be able to do the ride any longer. My father had to miss his dialysis appointment because the Friday afternoon cancellation left me practically no time to find him alternate arrangements. To say that my experiences with this company are disappointing would be an understatement. Be cautious and have a backup plan if you choose to book their services.
