I had such high hopes for this company, it is an absolute shame TruStaff turned out to be a terrible company to travel for. My entire first contract (and definitely my last) was a circus from start to finish.
Communication is a huge issue with multiple Trustaff employees. Recruiters, housing, and even supervisors all had the same problem with failing to pass on important information pertaining to my assignment. This ultimately disrupted my pay, work, and my relationship with the facility I was traveling to.
Housing was a major issue for me. Not only did I have to switch hotels because of their lack of communication, the third party source they used was allowed, by Trustaff, to take more money out of my account than was agreed upon. When this left me stranded in a different state, Trustaff was concerned about me missing work, not the breach of trust that occurred. I was informed that if I did not find a way to work, I would not get paid and my contract may be cancelled. When I sought to make it right, I was ignored and talked down to by staff. It was alarming how quickly they went from kind and accommodating to rude and dismissive over a mistake they made. When I spoke to the housing department I was hung up on. They stopped taking my calls and I was forced to go directly to the third party company for answers. This company informed me that everything that occurred was fully authorized by Trustaff and I signed an agreement that they claimed to have, that I never signed. Trustaff's response was they did not need my direct authorization to pay a debt I owed. After that, I completely gave up trying to have a professional relationship with TruStaff or any of its employees. The trust was completely gone.
This situation was enough to prevent me from signing back on with Trustaff. However they were not done screwing with me. After my final week, after breathing a huge sigh of relief to never have to communicate with these guys again, they just don't pay me. They blame the facility, who of course, stated they turned all my information in. On the phone I was told by my recruiter that "We are not going to pay you off a phone call." I play phone tag back and forth all day Friday and Monday, clear through to Wednesday, when they called again to say they never received anything. I had to get an email from their vendor stating she sent in my timesheet and the day it was sent. Only after I had the time stamp to prove they were lying, did they agree to pay me. Trustaff, again, took no responsibility and placed the blame back on me. The vendor advised me that there were better companies to travel for. I couldn't agree more.
The lying, rude employees, lack of accountability, and poor communication skills make this the absolute worse travel agency I have had the misfortune to work for. Luckily, in all the chaos, I gained allies through their vendors and received referrals to a way better company.
I not only feel cheated by TruStaff, I also feel betrayed. They sweet talk you in the door with higher pay and desirable locations and then slam it in your face after you have signed the contract. When you're 3000 miles away from your support system, you're supposed to be able to rely and trust your traveling company. You are vulnerable. They take no responsibility for how their actions, or lack thereof, effect you. One assignment was lesson enough for me, I will never travel with Trustaff again. I will also make sure my experience is shared with as many professionals as humanly possible, to save someone else this heartache.
I would think twice about working for this company as a traveling professional. That is if you don't want your hard earned money messed with and your time and profession disrespected. read more
