Absolutely Horrible service! Killed my beautiful yard and lawn even worked it over to my neighbors yard ! They put down fertilizer in the hottest part of our season my full plush green 2 year old lawn burned so bad that it's down to dirt no roots even. I have made phone calls over and over operators have given me the run around and assured me that they will help me to get results , supervisor was dispatched to look at my lawn took pictures agreed with me verbaly that there was tremendous damage done and he was contacting his main supervisor that person stated he has never been able to contact my cell number ! I myself,a business man for 39 years with over 100 employees making contact daily with contacts daily 24/7 on my phone and never has any complaints or problems calls BS! Middle of the road right now. Was so Happy with the salesperson I had. Signed up for the works!!! The people who came out were great. Friendly. Then I had Joe Come to my door. Asking me who signed me up. Was it online? In person? Was on trial? He did not like me asking him to get off my property. Did not come to my door with a card. Just disheveled and a trugreen shirt on. Y'all need to figure your own **** out and not bother me in the middle of my meetings. I'm still rating a three - but would be a five without Joe. I cannot wrap my head around this company and how incompetent they are. I signed up for their service and was told they maintain palm trees... when I spoke to the tech that came out to my house he said they did NOT service palm trees. Besides that situation Tru Green set the account up using someone else's name and our correspondence was directed to this other person. I was also supposed to get a summary of what service was done at my property once they came to do the service... that never happened. I called the company and spoke to someone and she could not confirm or deny that they serviced palm trees but I was paying for the service that sent a red flag flying, so I canceled. I then started looking for another company and was not finding anything better. I got a call from another rep from Tru Green and he reassured me that they do service palm trees and that he would make sure everything is perfect with my account so we figured we would give them another shot., he also provided me with his direct number. My husband received a text message that the service was performed at my property but it was not at my house so we called Tru Green and left a message for that rep that reassured us and it is 4 days later and no returned phone call. Then we find out after spending another 45 minutes on the phone that this person that was on our previous account that we canceled was the one that received the service and he is in Virginia and that is where they did our service and we are in Myrtle Beach, SC. The lady we spoke to Trish said that she would make sure that we were not billed and that a manager from this district would call me back and I asked her where the tech lived that supposedly serviced my property in Myrtle Beach and he is in Virginia... wow! How is it that this company is still in business.. after this happening how can it be that a manager didn't call us to do damage control.. .they just don't care. BEWARE! read more

The tech called me and explained what they do but I didn't sign up for anything because I wanted to discuss with my husband. The person I spoke with said he would be sending me an email with the information and I received a message that said I was unsubscribed from that campaign. Pretty unprofessional. Horrible service. Sprayed two of our apple trees and killed them. Trees were fine prior to me WATCHING them spray them now they're dead. Sent a "supervisor" out to look at the trees. Said, well we don't spray apple trees but if we did it's not anything that would kill the leaves. Weird since they're now dead and were fine BEFORE spraying. Would not recommend since they talk out both sides of their mouth. The "supervisor" was more interested in whining about driving out to look at the trees that they killed. I would give them no stars if I could. We moved into a new home in March of 23. We were struggling as first time home owners and had had communication with TruGreen several times over the course of the first 6 months or so but not pulled the trigger. Finally at the beginning of October a rep was doing door to door sales and when we got a better understanding of the service we decided to sign up. Our package was $970 some odd, and included lime treatments, mosquito defense, horticultural treatments, and fertilizations with weed management. They quickly scheduled our first four treatments all within a week or so of sign on. The horticulture and mosquito treatment were both done first, we were home and observed them do the full treatment. That's where the quality ended. Our second set of services were scheduled on back to back days that we couldn't be home. First the fertilization and second the lime treatment. The first day the tech came and did the fertilization, when we arrived home our neighbor approached us and told us that he had been sitting in his drive way when the tech came, and that the tech came sat in his truck the majority of the time then got out quickly did the front yard and left. We called our rep, and in this instance we were even gave them the benefit of the doubt when the rep told us that the time on the truck indicated that the whole yard had been done. But the second treatment we asked our roommate who would be home that day to watch them when they came. Sure enough the same tech as the day before came, sat in the truck the majority of the time, then jumped out quickly treated the inner part of the front yard and left. This time the evidence was even more damning because you could clearly see the pellets from the treatment in the yard. We quickly contacted our rep once we heard, and told him we had taken pictures and we could clearly see that the whole yard had not been treated. Here in starts problem number 2. It took two days of communication with the rep in order to get confirmation that a new tech would come out to reservice our yard, and to do a soil test. That was on Oct 20th. On November 2nd I again followed up after we had not heard anything in almost 2 weeks about the reservice. The responded saying he would get back to me asap with an update. We waited a whole two weeks with zero follow up. Finally on Thursday of last week, I contacted the corporate number to file a complaint, and investigate what was going on. They pushed a message down to the local branch, and said that if that didn't work they would issue a full refund. The next morning before I had even woken up a rep claiming to be from the local branch called and left one message on my voice mail asking me to contact them back and gave me the number that directed me directly back to the corporate reps. Then before I could even get a chance to call back I received notice that a refund was being issued back to me. I called to try to speak with the rep and give them a chance to fix the issue, the corporate rep put another message through to the local branch that I was trying to contact them, but the local branch simply never called me back. Simply put they didn't deliver the service I paid for, refused to fix it, and then cancelled my service the minute I pushed the issue beyond there local rep while refusing to even try to communicate with me about the issues. I'll say that the one star is for the corporate rep who was incredibly helpful, and apologetic. She was the only good thing about my short time working with this company. I would suggest everyone stay as far away from the TruGreen Myrtle Beach branch as possible. I'm convinced they were trying to rip me off and had no intentions on fixing the issues. That's why they were so quick to refund me without even trying to rectify the issue. TruGreen sent tech Vincent to my house the beginning of August for a regular treatment which I had been receiving for 4 years. The tech refused to do the job because of my dog being in his 20' x 70' section of fenced yard. I told the tech ok then the treatment won't be getting done today. Vinnie the tech then veered off into commenting on my suitability of being a dog owner. I told the tech to leave. The tech tells me he's discontinuing any further TruGreen treatments and threatened to call animal control on me. An hour later Horry Co PD showed up at my door telling me they had received a complaint that my dog didn't have water and I had been "talking bad about my dog". So, I called TruGreen, then waited for supervisor Sandy to return my call. This supervisor supported the tech. She offered for the service boss to call me. A week later, I called TruGreen for the boss. He'd been busy, but called me the next day. We talked and he tells me Vinnie was wrong about TruGreen's dog policy, his ability to cancel everything, calling the police and he tells me TruGreen had never before called the police on a customer. So, I was the first. I said I'm not patronizing a business that calls the police on me over non existent issues. I explained the tech called the police out of spite. A week or so later a TruGreen sales rep knocks on my door. The rep claims he had never heard of the issue, even though he says works in the same office, due to privacy issues. This rep, Steve Alexopoulos, wants me to tell him all about it then tells me he'll work up a price for treatment as TruGreen would like to keep my business. I told the guy I would welcome that. Haven't heard from this sales rep in a month. I emailed him 2 days ago, still no reply. A 20 year old tech comes to my house acting like a fool, then calls the cops on me. Supervisor Sandy supports the tech even though she admits he didn't give her complete information. The tech's main boss is too busy to call me for a week. A sales rep pays me an odd unannounced visit then ghosts me. What a horseshit way to run a business. read more

i have been using TruGreen in Myrtle Beach for two years and my lawn has never looked worse. It now has large bare patches and is the worse lawn on the block. Before they started treating my property my lawn looked beautiful. I hired them to take the burden off me so i would not have to do the work but since they started i have been trying to correct their inferior work. They have caused me twice the work. Trugreen has to be the worst company I have ever seen. They get your money upfront and then the customer service goes out the window. I had a technician that was skipping my yard and was fired and then they were supposed to treat my yard for over a week and a half but kept changing the date and not showing for the appointments that were scheduled. Called to talk to a manager and was supposed to have one come to my home and see how bad the weeds got when my yard was being skipped and they never called or showed up as well. Definitely not a company that is concerned with customer service. I even had a technician that works for them tell me that they lie and just tell people what they want to hear to get them off the phone. We started using TruGreen in Sept 2020 due to the fact that we noticed weeds in our grass. We paid them over $1,000 thru July 2021 and we STILL HAVE THE WEEDS!! Also in March of 2021 they started charging us for shrub service which we did not ask for. They have since reimbursed us for the additional not authorized shrub service. However, they didn't offer any type of reimbursement or solution for the weed control service that didn't work at all and cost us over $1,0000 for nothing!! UPDATE: 8/4/21 I sent the information that TruGreen requested in their response and 2 days later haven't heard a word back from them. Very disappointing!! Here it is 8/10 and still no response from TruGreen and to top it off they came to our house yesterday morning to service it after we cancelled the service 2 weeks ago!!! read more

Terrible customer service, Bad communication, two hour wait time when calling in for Customer Service, unreliable! Can't tell you what kind of work they might do because they didn't show up and do their job. I took a day off of work to make sure I would be here for them I got a text at 6:30 in the morning saying they would be here in 20 minutes. I open my front door and sat waiting for them, I watched them drive by and not stop. Then when I called in it said they could not do the service because there was a dog in the yard. Yes there is a dog in my backyard! My treatment is supposed to be done on the front, the side and in the backyard. It's very simple I put the dog in the house when it's time to go in the backyard. Is that difficult? Can the person not even stop and come to the front door and asked me to put the dog inside? They have my phone number, couldn't they contact me and say we're here but there's there's a dog in the backyard. No worries I'll do it myself and save a bunch of money. read more

We started Trugreen Myrtle Beach last October after we had Zoysia sod installed 4 months earlier. The yard is full of weeds, crab grass and bare spots. Trugreen was supposed to fertilize and put preemerg to stop weeds. Oh, they guarantee. I called customer service on 4/14/22 and told someone will be out on 4/15/22. No one showed. I called customer service back and we are not on the schedule for 4/15/22. I typed a letter to the manager at Truegreen Myrtle Beach at 1615 Executive Ave. I personally delivered it to the branch sales manager Ryan Vasley telling how disappointed I was and requested all my money refunded. He said he will review it and send someone out on Monday to see what the problem is and get back to me. Ryan provided his cell number so I sent him 10 pictures of the lawn. Trugreen did absolutely nothing to improve my lawn so I want a full refund. read more

I have been using Trugreen at this location for the past four years. This year is has been the worst service ever from them. Before I would say, they were always on time, and my lawn looked well but this year we've had a turnover in people, and the service has been very inferior. I have tried to contact the local office which is impossible to do because now you get sent to a data bank somewhere and speak with people all over the country. They tell me they will have the local manager return my call, that never happened. I was told the one tech that had been here would not be coming again because I don't want him and sure enough he showed up again a few days later and made my yard even worse. I now have brown areas to it that have never been there before. I am very seriously considering changing lawn services. I am not satisfied! Somebody, another tech not a supervisor, is to come out this Friday. We'll see what happens then probably nothing. read more

The specialist who performed the aeration service on our yard disregarded all irrigation above ground soil lines (ie. plastic pvc) and drove TruGreen's aeration spikes through our pipes severely damaging our irrigation system. For one why would a "professional" see irrigation lines and say i should drive straight over them? The far more Disappointing point is that when i called the following morning at 8am on the dot our local TruGreen manager has not so much as called to "own their mistake" like a true Blue Chip organization. I could care less about fluff apologies but i tell you what...seeing the "accountable & precise" best businesses around here there wouldn't be 2 hours gone by where the person in charge wouldn't immediately get involved, take responsibility like a true professional and make sure the issue was resolved like a champion. Not here for this TruGreen. It's been 3 days and not one single phone call. This is as easy as this. My irrigation is damaged with NO ACCOUNTABILITY, my yard looks worse than when i started (how is this possible with a professional company involved), and no one from TruGreen seems to care. The first email i received as a new customer "we will treat your lawn as if it were our own" was a bald face fluff cookie cutter lie. This the worst company I've ever dealt with! I signed up for their service to take some stress off my elderly husband. They scheduled to come out and sent me an email at 7 am telling me they were on the way. The report says they arrived at 8:45 and finished at 8:47. We have 1 acre of lawn. They left no signs or tag in the door. There was NOTHING done. I called and they said they would have them come out for a free treatment. The emails came again, and again there was NOTHING done. I don't know where this guy is going, but it's not my house ! I called today and canceled all services. Never got a call from a manager after several requests. They always arrived on time but my lawn never flourished, then they made a big mistake when they missed the mole crickets that destroyed my lawn. I had to pay a landscaper to re-sod the whole lawn after getting rid of the crickets. Since then I have changed lawn services and the yard looks great. True Green has called me five times in less than four months to see what they did wrong and I keep asking them take me off the call list. I put new sod down two years ago, last year I took care of it myself and won yard of the month. This year I decided to try a lawn care company. Although my front yard still looks good the back yard is a total weed yard. After several calls to the company and promises but no action, a local rep stopped by and looked at the yard, he said he would have someone out by Friday that was a month ago. This is truly the worst experience I have ever had with a franchised company. My front lawn is completely dead after being serviced in the pouring rain at the beginning of August. I have taken progressive pictures from three days after the treatment, where you could see the burn marks in my grass, to the end of August where the entire lawn was dead. The first time I called to complain, someone came out to "re-service" my lawn (they just sprayed the dead grass). The next 3 times I called I was promised a followup call from a manager but have yet to hear anything. I will be filing a suit in small claims court to cover the cost of the re-sodding. BTW, back yard has been covered in broad leaf weeds for months. My service started in March. I wish I could leave the before and after pictures here for you to see. My lawn is an embarrassment for our entire neighborhood. After leaving a bad review on facebook, someone finally contacted us to try to come to a resolution. They were able to offer a whopping 25% discount for our dead front lawn. It will cost us 5 times that amount to get new sod. I wish I had read their reviews before I signed up. They killed my lawn. I paid upfront for a year of treatments, aeration, and fertilizer. All they did was spray weed killer which killed all of my lawn too. Then after the year was up they tried to auto-renew even though I unenrolled when I purchased. They billed for another treatment that they didn't do. They have been I responsible and now they're sending me notice that they're sending me to collections. DO NOT USE! It's going to cost me $4k to redo my lawn they have damaged it so badly. read more

We signed up for a year service in May 2020. Initially, our yard looked great. My son said it looked like a golf course. Then, two treatments were done on the same day. About two days later, I noticed several patches of grass that had been killed. I called right away for help. They sent a tech who didn't what was wrong. Stay Away From This Company!! The Field Representative, based out of the Myrtle Beach office, who sold me the lawn treatment package is a liar and a scam artist! He promised me that each lawn treatment I received would kill the weeds, turn the grass green, and make it look healthy. Well, guess what? My lawn looks worse now than it did before. In fact, I have more "bare" and "brown" patches on my lawn now than before they started the lawn treatments. Also, there are several times I was called by the automated phone number telling me when my next lawn treatment was going to be and the lawn technician never showed up or never called to reschedule. My grass has now developed a "fungal infection" and when I contacted the Field Representative to inform him of this his response was "I will forward your text message to the Service Manager" The Field Representative (lets call him Kev for short) never apologized, never offered a resolution to the problem, and refused to come out to my house to look at my grass because he was "too busy" He even had the unmitigated gall to block my phone number so that I could not contact him again. What Class!!!!! It has been 3 days since I complained to the Field Representative about the "fungal infection" and not one person in authority at TruGreen has bothered to contact me. This just proves how little they care about their customers. I now have to pay someone else to fix TruGreen's screw-up! I recently quit the Myrtle Beach TruGreen Branch. I spent roughly six months there. In that time I was routinely pressured to do unethical things by management. For example, we would routinely do applications in the rain. If we would return to the branch with stops not completed, the service manager would passive-aggressively reprimand us regardless of the reason. If you asked about how to do your job, or something we were putting out, that same service manager would treat you like a moron for asking. "We are a marketing company that also does lawns." This was told to me by that manager. We did not put out a pre-emergent for crabgrass in 2017 and were told to tell people we could kill it when it had already matured. Insect control treatments were routinely sold to get rid of moles, despite their ineffectiveness. The sales department would consistently and grossly under-measure lawns, without repercussion. I'm talking a 30,000sf lawn measured at 3000sf. While this is the worst case scenario on my route, I had come to be surprised if a lawn was 1000sf within the actual measurement. I joined the company with a great attitude, willing to work incredibly hard to meet success and receive a promotion to management. While I do feel a promotion would have eventually been possible, after experiencing these things I discovered that the perceived success of a promotion would in fact be a failure. I try to live my life with integrity and to meet success at TruGreen I would have had to abandon my ethics and morals. read more

We signed up and then saw on our cameras that trugreen employees were dropping off bills and not putting down any treatment. For the last 2 months, we have been fighting with trugreen for our money back. We have showed them video footage but they claim that we have no evidence. After supervisors come to our house, they ignore our phone calls and attempts to contact. Calling customer service is a joke. They always say "we will have a supervisor call" and they never do. I fell for it again. Last year my lawn, which was being treated by TRU-GREEN, was affected by a fungus and damaged throughout. I was under the impression I was paying them to keep my lawn GREEN. I called to report the issue and they said it was brown patch fungus and they did not treat for it, so I fired them. They continued to solicit my services by phone for some time after that and each time I mentioned the experience I had and finally I agreed to meet with their supervisor. He assured me they could do a better job so I signed up again. Fast forward to last week in which I called to report brown spots again. They said someone would call me within two days. I have yet to hear from anyone. Tech assures me he reported this on his last visit but did not have fungicide on his truck. Still no one else came still no calls. read more

Do NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE FRAUDS..... The destroyed our lawn after we had spent two seasons working hard to get it almost perfect. We need crab grass gone and mosquito treatment. I have beautiful picture of my lawn at the start of there service and now they have killed all my grass and left the crab grass weed. I will be taking them to court because they are now making up lies and excuses for what happened. I see now there are tons of people that have been a target of TruGreen and that is so sad and needs to come to a stop. The only way to fix my lawn is for it to have new SOD put down. We are devastated over the loss of money we put into the lawn for two seasons along with the very hard work and time we put in. I am putting in complaints with the FTC and anyone I can to help get them to get another company to sod my lawn back to normal and keep them from doing this to anyone else. They are trying to lie and bully us to not move foreword but they told one lie on BBB that went against my integrity that pushed me to want to fight for all people they try to bully. Awful service and results. When I bought my home in 2017 I had nice lawn in my back yard. I hired TruGreen to help thicken it and look better. After 2 years at a cost of over 3000 dollars my back yard is nothing but dirt with patches of grass and weeds. Every time I talked to the tech they said there were seasonal weeds that would die off and be replaced by thick green grass when the weeds died off with the proper treatments they would provide. What a lie. After the first year I wasn't happy and last spring they assured me things would be corrected and I would have a beautiful lawn so I re-signed with them. What a costly mistake. After trusting them my lawn is even worse if you can even call it a lawn anymore. I canceled my service last fall and expressed my lack of satisfaction. I got nothing in return. I just got my annual call from them to re-sign for this year with the same promises of a beautiful lawn. The company blamed poor management and bad employees using inferior products claiming to be a Fortune 500 company that has made many changes. All the excuses mentioned above are on the upper management and owners of a Fortune 500 company. As far as I'm concerned they owe me the service and results I already paid for. A Fortune 500 company would put customer service first or so you would think. I have an irrigation system in my yard so it is properly watered. I live in Myrtle Beach and should have a beautiful lawn I'm proud of. Our HOA requires us to keep our properties immaculate and I have spent a lot of money to do so. My trees and shrubs are trimmed and my gardens are weeded and mulched every spring but my lawn looks like crap. Thanks TruGreen.
