We signed up for TruGreen in the Cincinnati area to come service our lawn and spray for mosquitos. They had a tech come 3 times and lie about servicing our lawn. My wife caught them through the window pulling up to the house, walking to the front yard to put a sign up, and then again to the back before just getting back in the car and leaving and marking us as "completed service". This caused us to look back at the other two services and sure enough, same thing. They were charging us hundreds of dollars to put a sign in our front yard. Naturally, I called to speak to a manager to cancel service and he convinced us to stay under the promise that they would redo the services free of charge, and even threw in a few extras to keep us as customers. The very next time they serviced us, they double charged us. I called them to discuss the double charge and remind them of the deal we had made, and they said "No such deal was ever made" and then refused to give us our money back. This company stole from us in every sense of the word, and have been very untrustworthy every step of the way. I have never witnessed anything more unethical and slimy in my entire life. Save yourself a headache and save your cash, and look somewhere else. read more

This company is a huge scam! They schedule treatment dates and then won't show up. They even have the nerve to text you that the service has been completed when it wasn't. Their customer service operates will apologize and make promises on a new date or time but it never happens. What a sketchy outfit! read more

Very very bad company and I can't believe that I prepaid for 3 of their services and still get a bad customer service. We still see bugs and mosquitoes and when we ask for a in between they don't even care. I tried to chat and told exactly that I need a in between they played dumb and said there is no scheduled visit. I tried calling and their answering system said my wait was one minute, but instead I waited over 7 minutes then I hung up. So people prepay or not it's always the same bad customer service. I have had numerous issues with this company. I requested aeration last year and they indicated they would be here within the next week. A month and a half later we are on the patio at 630pm and a young man comes through the yard with the machine (actually there were two of them). Single pass, done in about 25 minutes. No call prior to arriving and after they had departed there were very few "plugs" in the lawn. I called and the young lady said the manager would get back to me... did not. Recently we had our service and the technician indicated everything looked good continue watering and cutting as we had. We had large brown spots, the next day we had numerous birds feasting in the yard, we discovered we had an army worm infestation. Price keeps increasing... Bottom line we discontinued service. read more

Frustration with Customer care and Field services lead to me cancelling my service. Multiple calls to Customer service resulted in miscommunications with the Field technician. When the technician arrived and walked my yard he applied Fertilizer and not the weed control I requested. When I called back to request weed control I was told they would contact the Field tech to come back and apply it. That never happened. My next contact was to cancel service. I was signed up for an 8-treatment plan for the 2021 season. I got my first service Mar 24, then service on June 3. Then as September arrived, I noticed my lawn was looking quite unhealthy, and realized they hadn't treated it in 3 months (I auto-pay, so I wasn't really paying attention). I called customer service who apologized and said someone would come that week. I wasn't put on the schedule. The location left a voice mail saying they had been struggling with staffing issues and to call if there were anymore issues. I called back after not being placed on the schedule as promised and got a new promise that they would arrive in 2 days. I asked to see that on my service schedule online and was told I'd get an email in a few minutes confirming but it could take a few hours to show up online. The email didn't arrive. And it never appeared in my account online. So I called to cancel so I could hire a new lawn service. Twice I went through the automated menu on the phone and was disconnected while on hold. So I tried online chat instead. I waited in line on chat for 25 minutes. Once an agent arrived, I said I wanted to cancel. My chat was "disconnected" but then another agent showed up and then completely ended the chat. At this point I was 40 minutes into trying to cancel my account. I tried the phone system again and got someone. When I said I wanted to cancel, they offered to get someone out the next day. I said it was too late, and that they had lost my trust. I asked to skip the attempts to get me to stay and just cancel my account. The person asked me twice more to stay, until I raised my voice and asserted that I had already made my decision, stated it three times already, had spent almost an hour just trying to cancel, and had already had service promised that they didn't follow through on. Interestingly, once canceled, that was reflected real-time in my account online. The location never let me know what was happening, and the national customer service organization did not interact with me with integrity. read more

Had prepaid for service of 2020, then cancelled after said services were finished. Not only do they barely spray anything in the yard, very ineffective results. Mosquitos galore and still had ticks on all the dogs constantly. Then had the audacity to hit debt collection for continuing services I had cancelled over a full year ago. This is the worst lawn care company I've ever had. At every turn they would "auto sign" me up for services I said NO to when asked! The "horticulturalist" came out on our first appointment and he pointed to buds in our bushes, saying they were overrun with pests and needed TruGreens Bush treatment. I said no. Two weeks later the buds emerge as new leaves, which I knew was just a sales tactic and was a bit annoyed by that. Two weeks later I catch a guy outside spraying our bushes!! He said he was there for the bush treatment. I immediately dismissed him. TruGreen did not charge me, but then a week later, they enrolled us in a variety of services we didn't want! I had to cancel these other services twice. We just wanted simple reseeding and fertilizing. Will never go with these guys again. read more

Tru Green was hired this year, after several years of treating yard ourselves. The service was horrible, and did not perform as promised. On 8-23-2021, they sprayed our yard, and neighbor's yard with chemical. They totally killed both our yards, and when notified, said they would send someone out to see the damage. After calling weekly, for a month, no one has ever called us, or come out. Do not use this company. read more

Very bad customer service. Many no-shows, reschedules, poor application. No call backs. No managers ever available. Result, more weeds than when I do it myself. They aggressively try to win your business, but then ignore you. Call center is in another state. Online system yields more dead ends. They want to bill you, but dont want to do the job. This is the absolute worst company I have ever hired to do anything. I literally had my lawn treated one time, weeds were not dying, even after rain had set the treatment into my lawn. I called every week for 5 weeks straight after the initial treatment and asked for a re-treat. I was told 5 separate times, once even being a supervisor named Jeromy, I think, that they would be out within 3 business days of my call to re-treat my lawn. ALL 5 TIMES NOBODY SHOWED UP! I even received an email that my treatment had been completed when in fact it had not been completed. I have numerous cameras on my property as well as me being home at the time, and nobody every set foot on my property. Unless the person treating my lawn was invisible and also all of their equipment too, it was not treated. That was the third time that had happened to me over the last 3 years as well. I gave True Green numerous chances to get it right, and they failed miserably....... read more

We've been lawn care customers since we moved here. I called seven days ago to begin tree and shrub treatment, due to a large infestation on worms eating our new landscaping. Last time I called, they said they'd be treating in 10 days. They supposedly are coming tomorrow(8 days after my first call) to treat, weather permitting. I think this is way too long to wait. I'm afraid we'll be paying for their service and also having to buy new landscaping. I've called three times. Today when I asked to speak to a manager, the girl asked me why I wanted a manager. I never did get to speak to a manager. If things don't improve I'll be seeking a different lawn care company. read more

I have been with TruGreen going on my third year and my lawn is looking the best it ever has!

We have been a customer for over 15 years (we will cancel tomorrow). We have a yard that is 33% weeds! Their weed treatment guarantee is bogus (non-existent). I have called at least 6 times for retreatment (this year). They came out once and refused to spot treat the massive amount of weed spot clusters. The person applying the chemicals said " I can not spot treat the yard. The spray is digitally applied to hit every problem area". It is not true. The next time, they did spot treat only 10% of the areas--they must have grown tired. They gave up. The last 4 calls, they promised someone would come out to treat --in the next 3 business days. Still waiting. They are NOT coming. read more

Don't use their service! Was scheduled 5 different times for fall seeding service and they no showed each time! Wife and I called three times and promised they would be there and nothing! Then when I canceled my device the rep was very rude and said it was because of a invisible fence and sprinkler system.... THAT WE DON'T HAVE!!! After having to deal with Scotts for 2 years I decided to give Trugreen a try. Now to be honest, I am happy with the way the lawn is shaping up so far, but their customer service...that is another story. When I set up the account, they offered a deep root fertilizer of trees and bushes. Since I do not have trees or bushes in my yard, I respectfully declined. About a week before they were to come out and put this down, they sent me an e-mail telling me they were on the way. I replied back that I had cancelled that and moreover, I have no trees or bushes. They came out and put the application down anyway. On what, heaven only knows, due in large part to the fact that I have no trees or bushes. So, I keep receiving a bill for a service I cancelled and that they must have put down on a neighbor's yard or just sprayed it into the air. One would think they might credit back the account instead of pursuing a payment for mystery service. Nope. Can't get an answer or a credit. So...Good bye Trugreen. read more

I have used Tru Green in the past and was reluctant on using them again Agreed to using, the rep did not show up when scheduled despite taking off work to be at home, treated my yard right before it rained, and have not returned calls to schedule a walk thru of my yard and the concerns I have. Have had to make multiple calls and the sales rep who I was told would be my primary point of contact has to refer me to the 800 number to cancel my account. TERRIBLE I will NEVER use them again and will move my mothers account over to where I go. I would give them a zero rating if this tool allowed for that. read more

Sprayed fertilizer into pond and killed many fish and when we called gave lots of excuses and wouldn't even say sorry. They don't really care what they do. Will never use them. read more

Cancelling my service today. The trouble started when the lawn technician showed up in early august to do the aeration and over seeding that I had ordered at the beginning of the season. I let him know that it was too early for that treatment and that it needed to be done in the fall. He was reluctant but agreed to reschedule in October. The came to perform the service the first week in October. I was not at home when the service was performed. By the end of October I had a nice growth of grass in all my flower beds and gardens. I contacted the customer service department asking that someone come out and take care of the problem. I was assured that the problem would be handled. I talked to one of the local supervisors, Matt Finnicum, and he scheduled an appt. to come out. That day came and went without a word from Matt or Tru Green. I called 4 additional times with the same complaint. Each time the customer service reps were quite understanding and very professional. (I have all the ticket numbers they assign to complaints) Assuring me that they would get it handled. I talked to Mr. Finnicum 2 more times as a result of my calls. The first time he said he came out and sprayed the grass but it obviously didn't work. He scheduled another appt. and said he would be back out the next week to spray again. The day came and went again without Matt showing up or calling. I know he never made the first trip as I have surveillance cameras that record any movement in my driveway and yard day or night. Matt recently missed the third appt that he scheduled with my wife and again never called. So here we are in early March and I'm looking for a new lawn service read more
