I went in to get my piercings put back in after having surgery.. but I waited 2 months so the holes in my nostrils and septum got a little smaller due to what I had put in them while I waited to go back in. Due to the challenges presented by my holes starting to close a little bit, it took a whole team to get me situated with the jewelry I wanted since I had selected jewelry in the size I had before, but what I shrunk down to. I love the way he incorporates these "nerdy" pop culture icons into his designs (Star Wars, X-Men, Ghostface, etc.). You can tell how seriously he takes his craft and it shows in his work. I didn't hesitate to go for a decent sized Darth Vader on my shoulder/arm, and it came out even better than expected. Less than 6 months later and I went back for my second tattoo from Cory - a traditional looking dragonfly for my moms 60th bday (she's always had a dragonfly tattoo). Again, perfection. The shop itself is awesome - very clean and open, with flash splattered on the walls and plenty of books showcasing art/tattoos from well known artists for inspiration/reference. Fridge full of complementary waters/drinks. And other artists either hard at work, or just shooting the shit (which is entertaining enough to get you through a full session, thanks Phil). So I went in for a septum piercing and the manager with the back did it for me, it hurt very bad and afterward I noticed how high it was but I didn't say anything abt it bc I trusted the professional. Side note I also had trouble keeping the fastenings on it was like the didn't fit and even came back for a replacement and saw the guy again and he didn't say anything abt it being pierced incorrectly. After two days the piercing fell out and I let it bc I wasn't happy with it anyway. A couple months after I got a tat by a former employee that had left that shop and they told me the manager did coke before every piercing so I'm sure that had something to do with it!! Months after that I went to Atomic tats in Lakeland and it was a much more professional experience- the piercer checked my anatomy before piercing and it hardly hurt at all, he confirmed that angry elephant pierced my cartilage!! However, I should've done more research. Here's my experience: 1. The piercing was completely wrong. I went in for a nostril piercing, but it was placed way too high. It bled, and I had a headache for a week straight. Anytime the sun hit me or I smelled something with even the slightest aroma, I would get a piercing headache. I brushed it off, thinking it was just my anxiety making me overthink. Eventually, I went in for my check-up, and I was told everything was healing perfectly and that I had no bumps at all. A day later, I accidentally yanked out my jewelry, tried to put it back in, but it was painful and kept bleeding, so I panicked and rushed back to the shop. I was told it couldn't go back in because there was a bump on the inside, and I would have to come back to get it pierced again. I do NOT blame the shop for my clumsiness with the piercing falling out, HOWEVER, my friend also got a nostril piercing, and hers keeps falling out as well. Perhaps it's the jewelry they use, and if so, they need to address that issue. 2. One of the piercers was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I went in wearing makeup since it was a spontaneous decision. The piercer made a comment along the lines of, "I remember when I used to wear this much makeup." I also had a companion with me because I was nervous about my first piercing, and the piercer blocked them from seeing me with her body. Additionally, Confessions sold me a product (H2Ocean) that caused both me and my friend to develop piercing bumps. I wasn't aware that I was paying for it until my $50 piercing turned into over $60. On top of that, the aftercare instructions they emailed me contradicted what they told me in person. I was told to use Dial soap in person, but the care sheet specifically said not to, among other inconsistencies I can't fully recall. In the end, I decided I would never return to this place. I had to go to another piercing shop, where I was told Confessions' placement was incorrect, and that they frequently get clients with messed-up piercings from there. My new nostril piercing is much lower, DID NOT hurt at all, and didn't bleed. The staff at the new shop was also much friendlier and professional. I'll provide pictures of the piercing done by Confessions (left side) and the piercing that was redone on my right side at a new shop. The photo where I have white dots on my face is the one done by Confessions. The placement is noticeably higher compared to the new one, which is lower. I'm just glad I didn't end up with a scar from their incompetence. Do not go here
