Angela is the most compassionate and thorough hygienist. Reasonable rates, would recommend.

Overall Rating: Solid 3 Stars…read more After many appointments at Island Dental, I can say that the experience has just been okay. Parking: There's a private lot shared with another business (a different dental office for surgical procedures I think) with plenty of parking. Ambiance/Decor: It is a very nice dental office and it's very comfy and cozy. It's clean and spacious as well! Customer Service: The customer service is okay. Sometimes, in my opinion, it did feel a bit less genuine/fake and it also felt like I was being rushed when I needed to call. It always seems like the front desk receptionists are in a hurry to hang up the phone. Dental/Appointments/Pricing: When I first started going to Island Dental, I loved my cleaning experience with the hygienist I was originally paired with but when she moved away, everyone after her that I had just seemed okay. My teeth never really felt truly amazingly clean as they had in the past with my primary hygienist in California. They really push the "boomcloud membership" which they raised the price multiple times since my first appointment. I personally think that for the quality of cleaning, it is extremely overpriced. Overall: After multiple appointments, still continuing the BoomCloud membership although my teeth never felt as clean as I would like them to be, I have decided that I would much rather go back to California to my primary dentist than to continue with Island Dental. Sure, it is beautiful office and the hygienists and doctors were kind, but it just isn't worth the price for the experience. I hope this review helps you decide on where to find a dentist in the Summerlin area! :) Overall Rating: Solid 3 Stars

Sometimes you need to see a periodontist or another specialist, and normally that means making a separate appointment at a totally different location but here, you don't have to go anywhere else. The entire staff is just as impressive, everyone in the office is professional, and welcoming. Another thing I really appreciate is that you don't have to wait for anything you need. On regular appts they book you for a certain time and take forever to call you in/ forget that you are waiting or they call you in and sit you in the chair waiting for over 1hour. My son and I have some deep routed issues with dentist and such and this place is amazing. Almost to the fact that they will hold my kids hand just to comfort him. Holly answered all my questions on the phone and she's one of the reasons why I decided to do all my treatments here. Are they a little pricey? Yes. Did I trust dr.Patel to complete the work that I need? Also yes. I'm ok with paying more just to have the peace of mind. Today's appt was supposed to be 4 hours(fillings, a crown and deep cleaning for my left side. I was 13 mins late- texted and called the office to let them know I'm going to be late, in case they couldn't fit me in anymore. Holly answered and said no problem, drive safe. When I got there Holly was busy, Maria checked me in. The first thing she said to me was "we might not be able to do all your treatments today since you're late. Please sign all the forms and pay the balance of $550." I said what do you mean? The whole reason why I'm here today is that I don't want to get numbed multiple times. She said but you're late and time is tight. My machine is not up front so do you have a card? I said I texted Holly she's aware I'd be a little late, she rolled her eyes and said "I can see the message too". Who talks like that and who trained her? It took them 15 mins to check me in and I didn't even SEE the doctor's face till 11:45. Clearly my 13 mins was really a big deal lol. I am responsible for being 13 mins late but I believe Maria could work on her delivery better. If you want to gaslight patients cuz you're overbooked- you're arguing with the wrong person. I'd have no problem if I was told on the phone that me being late would delay my treatment- I probably would have turned around and rescheduled instead of driving half an hour to get there and be told that I cannot do all of my treatments which would of defeated the purpose. Dr.Patel ended up doing all my treatments as discussed- I want to make it clear that this review does reflect on her work, the hygienist, Dr Jamie(I believe she did my deep cleaning) and Holly. I'm more than disappointed by the front staff Maria and her unprofessionalism/rudeness. Holly witnessed the whole interaction and the fact that this wasn't brought up to the management is concerning. If I was the owner of the practice I would absolutely like to know who cares about my clients and who doesn't. I hope they do better in the future.

Some noted that the decline began with the retirement of Dr. Davis. He was an outstanding dentist with great rapport with his patients. His office staff, dental assistants, and hygienists reflected his influence. When he left, I noticed the same decline that other reviewers have documented here. For example, I drew a hygienist that spent about 10 minutes with me, then declared she was done; simultaneously there was a background conversation obsessed with nailing down my next appointment. However, I had an appointment today that turned it back around for me. The dental assistant was very kind, friendly, considerate, and competent. My new dentist, Dr. Brittany Cortes, could not have been nicer or more friendly or more professional! I got the impression that Dr. Davis (who apparently must still have a connection with the business) had a hand in hiring the new staff. If so, I am not surprised. If you're turned off by the recent bad reviews, I'd recommend you give them another chance.

I don't know HOW to put into words how this doctor was worth every single cent but I'm going to try. So I called around the valley to ask for surgeons. Most of them brushed me off with very little detail especially because considering that this is surgery, it could be very expensive. Most places ignored me and said "you'll have to come in to find out how much your procedure will be with your insurance". That's crazy. Who has the time to go from office to office to get an estimate AND pay for a consult?? Anyway I stumbled onto a doctor AND a dental surgeon, UCLA grad, in Summerlin-- Dr. Letelier. Granted, a bit far away from my house but so worth it. Immediately upon calling, I spoke to MEMO. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable, gave me an estimate right away and scheduled my partner for an IMMEDIATE appt. Surgery day: could not have gone better. EVERY SINGLE PERSON working there was so so so nice!!! The doctor was incredible and put my partner at ease. My partner texted me and said "Thank you for finding him for me! I'm not so scared about this procedure anymore" right before they sedated him. The practice was beautiful, professional, and clean. My partner has been raving about this practice since picking him up. Bonus? The out of pocket price (after my insurance) came down so much lower than estimated/quoted. They kept finding ways to add discounts. WOW. WOW. WOW. INCREDIBLE!!!! So grateful.
