They're skillful, thorough, competitively priced, and make customer care the most important part of the process. Showalter went above-and-beyond in helping my parents after Hurricane Michael in October 2018. They are fully licensed and insured to accomplish every task, and have earned the trust and confidence of everyone in our family. They're transparent with every task and provide realistic expectations so there are no surprises (remidiation, restoration, permits, gov't inspections, etc). We did multiple searches for help all around the region. We looked at price, location, reviews, specialty, and Showalter was consistently near the top of every search. We contacted a few companies for estimates for the dry-out / saturation mitigation, demo, roof work, and reconstruction, and Showalter was the only company that had all the right credentials for every part of the restoration. They're the only ones that were available in a reasonable time, and they were clear about their techniques and their limitations. Robert arrived to assess the damage to the house & property a couple days after we called them. He impressed us by communicating consistently and answering ALL our questions over the span of many hours including a conference telephone call with family and contractor friends. Though he had other clients, he made my parents and our whole family, feel like we were his only concern. He literally sat in the backyard fielding every question as if we were his only client. Robert took the time to explain the whole claims process from start to finish in terms that every could understand. He explained how his services are applied within that whole process, and the details that are rarely discussed like the mental stress my parents should expect to face at times. Only after he was sure we understood the concept of each step did he discuss the finances of the process. Robert was not pushy, rather he was realistic with the payment of the project as another step in the process. His goal was obvious; to ensure my parents understood the operation as a whole and ensured he had their trust and comfort with the process regardless of whomever did the work. He spoke on a peronal level and identified evidence-based results and experiential moments, he never insulted their competition or make any sort of derogatory remarks about anybody. After a traumatic event like this hurricane, Robert Showalter's assessment proved to be as therapeutic for my parents as his work is efficient. Showalter and his team made a great effort to communicate and provide rational and reasonable expectations. There were no surprises; some of the matters that arose were already discussed as possibilities (sea wall, pipes, etc). The entire crew Showalter brings are some of the most professional people I've ever encountered. Their team worked so competently & diligently that the process seemed to be quicker than previously imagined, which is great because the sooner the house is fixed the better! Other companies were vague or ambiguous with their process and pricing, and public records now show many of those companies were simply a shady practice wishing to steal people's money in a time or crisis. The Showalter Team is transparent; everything they communicated has been proven true, and they were honest every step of the way.

We were after a very specific flooring, an extra long plank LVP in a very specific tone, and Carrie delivered on locating the perfect product for our home. Upon arrival and throughout the duration of the job, Victor and his team were professional and exact in their work. Not only did they deliver an incredible final product, but Victor, Juan, Jeremiah and James were polite and patient with our family and dog as we in and out of their workspace. Everyone who comes in our home mentions how incredible everything looks. This team did not cut a single corner and worked to make every last piece of flooring, baseboard and trim they installed look complete and pristine. It is a testament to the standards this company holds. When Robert said he would work to make our house whole again, he truly meant it. CDS Plumbing is a nightmare. Be ready to manage your own project, check their progress, and call…read moremany times wondering why they are destroying your house. While they replaced our sewage line and it works, everything else was disastrous. What they did right: - Replaced the entire sewage line at a fair price. - Plumbing has worked so far. What went wrong: - Workers left doors/windows open with the A/C running. - Trash and debris were left everywhere; we had to clean it ourselves. - Cracked bathroom tiles. - Dirt and debris from floor work piled onto living room floors with no protection. - Concrete splattered on baseboards and flooring, causing permanent damage. The concrete work after plumbing was done by a different company. It was so uneven that floors and laundry room couldn't be finished. CDS "fixed" it by bringing the same company back, who sanded everything with zero protection. Our entire home was coated in concrete dust on ALL surfaces--furniture, vents, cabinets, clothes, dishes, pantry items, you name it. Cleanup was brutal. Six family members spent four full days moving out our home, cleaning everything off-site, laundering clothes and bedding, and washing dishes elsewhere. CDS only sent 4-5 cleaners who were reluctant and limited; the cleaning company confirmed CDS minimized staff and refused additional help. After moving back in, concrete dust continued to come through our air vents and settle on our belongings. Given that I have two children, I requested professional air duct cleaning due to health concerns. The owner was again rude and reluctant. We never asked for reimbursement for housing, utility costs, or the extra week displaced. Even so, CDS resisted. Dust continued to come through vents, forcing professional air duct cleaning for health reasons. The owner was rude, dismissive, and at one point said he would "not spend another penny," showing zero concern for our safety or family. Additional issues: - A worker failed to reconnect a pipe, flooding our laundry room. - Bathroom vanity measured incorrectly and is off-center. - Laundry room vanity installed at an angle; sink leans forward and won't drain. - I repeatedly had to inspect the home and property to find unfinished work and leftover debris, requiring multiple return visits. - Workers smoked marijuana in our backyard twice. Final thoughts: Plumbing works, but everything else was handled with zero professionalism. Damage to our home, unsafe conditions, poor workmanship, and dismissive ownership made this extremely stressful. Avoid CDS Plumbing if you value your home, health, or peace of mind. The costs are high, the work is challenging and the end results are unknown. So due diligence is paramount in this quest. As it turns out, I put in the work, took several bids and made my choice. I went with Tadlock Roofing and while the result in the end was satisfactory, I can't help but think I might have done much better. I will cover the good first and then the bad. The good. The sales person was very personable, her manager was very knowledgeable and I felt at ease and comfortable. All my questions were answered and I felt confident that I could go forward with enough information to compare their product to others and make a reliable decision. The product was of good quality and promised to last a great many years. The Mexican installation crew were focused, speedy, professional, jovial and detail oriented. They worked carefully in order to limit any surrounding damage to plants and property. The post work clean up was encouraging since the ground was covered in debris and nails and I have grandkids who play out there. They were meticulous in their efforts to leave the yard safe and clean. Now, the less positive aspects. Those friendly faces that promised to be with you every step of the way, did a vanishing act. The half dozen or more documents you are forced to sign that release Tadlock of any responsibility should ANY damage be done to the home or surrounding area felt downright menacing and impart a feeling of helpless doom. A huge laundry list of things for which they would take no responsibility, a virtual cornicopia of small print to indemnify themselves was extremely worrisome. Shingle delivery workers who ignored my many many requests to spread the shingles weight on my roof for safety, downright aloof and nasty was their attitude. The delays in schedule were abundant. Leaving the heavy shingles on the roof an extra week. They left the roofing plywood on the ground in the yard to get wet from the rain for nearly a week. A dumpster sitting in the driveway an extra day. The gutter work was not even scheduled until the roof was completed for more than a week and then days went by without any contact or word regarding the installation. And remembrr those smiling faces promising to be with you every step of the way, still missing. Found out later that Mr. Tadlock sold his business to a national company that fired about 80 employees in our state and closed one or more locations. The girl who came to our house in the beginning was gone. The manager now splitting time between Tampa and Sarasota. It's all downhill from here, with all the cost cutting the company is making, the skeleton crew that is left, it would be wise to consider carefully whether you want to hire this once great company. To be fair, in the end over 2 months later I did have a new roof and gutters. It was quality product and MY installation crew was awesome. Viva Mexico. There are several crews however, you have to make sure you get a good one.

I worked with 3 different remediators to resolve the issue before finding Steve with EPS Lakeland, LLC. I will say that the 3rd remediator did discover a possible shower pan leak and that was very helpful, but after 7 weeks, the job still wasn't done. Steve came out and tested newly. Then he did the work and was finished in 2 days including clearance testing. He also recommended Sleuth, Inc. to come out and determine if the shower pan really does need to be replaced (bad news is that it does, but now I know without a doubt). I went into the unit personally after Steve finished and it's the first time that my allergies didn't flare up since this whole problem started months ago. I'm very happy that I found Steve and I would call him again. I posted the above review on Google last week. I decided to add it to Yelp, because I am still so happy with Steve's work and I think people need to know how good he is. I also want to add that I have been in this affected unit several times since Steve completed his work and I have not had any allergic response since he completed the work a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't be happier. He has put my mind at ease about mold. I know that if I ever have a problem, I just have to call Steve and he will handle it quickly and completely and safely. :)
