I signed up this week. Walked in today and was told that my membership was cancelled They wouldn't tell me what was said. Only that my account was "flagged" because of something I said when I was signing up. I was able to speak to the manager on he phone but he wouldn't say what was said. I'm 1000% so confused because I have no idea what was said that would have offended anyone and I even got a friendly hello from the guy who signed me up when I came in the day after signing up. I had no notification that my membership was canceled in advance I had to walk into the gym 3mins after drinking pre workout only to be told I was booted. So unprofessional to just close my account and not even get a call or email explaining that I was booted. Still have no idea what was said that caused my account to be flagged. read more

Mailed my cancellation notices to corporate office as per my agreements. Turns out the add on the legal agreement is wrong and they never canceled them. Now trying to charge me the second time for dues and won't issue any refund. Disgraceful business practices. read more

Love this gym and the amenities but !!!!WARNING!!!! do NOT do the one on one training. The trainers here seem to not realize the beginner level of others and throw them into painful and difficult workouts risking major injury to their clients. This also causes self doubt and makes you not want to come back because you can't do the intensity level they make you feel you have to do right off the bat. It makes others hate the gym if they're new to it. read more

This was such a great gym when Bodyworks owned and operated it... customer service has gone down so much. Being a district manager for another gym franchise in central texas... I would suggest prioritizing customer service requirements asap. It could be such a great facility read more

This place looks great to the eye, but their contracts and their office practices are purposely deceptive. Buyer beware here. Stay away from anything other than regular membership and make them shoe you everything, lone by line, before signing anything. I'll never do business here again. read more

I attempted to cancel a month to month membership several times. I continued to get charged for months afterwards and I was charged late fees. They threatened to send my account to collections despite multiple attempts to cancel. The managers are not willing to help and give the typical "corporate policy states" excuse. I would not recommend any Tru Fit gym. This is maybe the 2nd review I have ever written for a business. I felt compelled to do what I could to let others know how poorly I was treated in hopes that they can avoid the same situation. read more

I left this review a year ago. Just got the call that somehow I owe 4000 dollars. Guessing I need to find a lawyer. This place is the absolute worst. Con artist. I wanted a simple membership and was talked into trying a trial for training. The trial turned out to be the highest rated package and some thing I couldn't afford. I never wanted the training and when I tried to speak with a manager they avoided me for weeks. Eventually got a hold of an email for someone higher than the manager and they continue to ignore me as well. I explained that I moved a short distance away and it was inconvenient as well as they were causing me to overdraft my account. The membership I agreed to was $39 a month. They were taking over $250 a month out of my account. I went to my bank and as I waited in line I found out that I was one of three people just that day they had the same problem with Tru-Fit. It's not ethical. They sign you up for agreements without your full understanding then avoid you when you want to discuss it. Extremely unprofessional. Do not go here. read more

The gym offers sufficient workout equipment and area. But their membership and fees are not fully transparent. After being a member for approximately 2 months and $33 a month dues, a new charge was withdrawn in the middle of the third month that was for $54. Upon calling they said it was an annual club improvement fee. At no time during the signup process was this ever mentioned. Their response was it is in your contract. I love this gym. I've been going for over a year now and the atmosphere is amazing. The cleanliness has gotten so much better recently, the workers are cool with everyone, and the womens only area has been my saving grace. They don't have contracts anymore and it's affordable. read more

I had a 12 month agreement but when I decided to cancel, they charged me twice for the yearly equipment fee, and you have to make sure you cancel months ahead and keep reminding them before your last month because they still will some how charge you if you don't smh. Bad business read more

Was basically almost forced to take personal training sessions. The guy was relentless after several times telling him we weren't interested. When we decided to cancel we had to do it in person. Then in a few days after filling the form we went back in because our card was charged, and was told it takes 30 days for everything to be canceled. Our card was charged again a second time after the 30 days were up. We had to go back in to talk and apparently they had lost our cancellation paperwork. They were unwilling to reimburse. read more

They had been sending a past due bill to the wrong address, so I had no idea the bill existed. Then someone calls me, on their behalf, and proceeds to berate me for not paying, and he called me a "little bitch" and said "you're lucky we aren't face to face because I'd whoop your ass". I even told him I was happy to pay but he wouldn't let me lol. He was too busy belittling me and calling me a dirtbag. Real professional Trufit. Initial Incident: Walked into the gym today to speak with the general manager about canceling my membership due to having rotator cuff surgery and having my bicep muscle detached and anchored outside of my shoulder. I walked in with a sling a full bandages as my surgery was yesterday because they refused multiple times to sign for the letter and documents I sent certified last week. The manager was very rude and told me she needed proof. She didn't bother to open the envelope containing the proof. She instead told me they most likely would not cancel my membership but she'd send it to corporate. She had no comment when I asked why they refused to sign for the letter I sent last week. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever received!! Zero compassion, zero concern and zero professionalism. All she cared about was the money. I will NEVER return to TrFit after today! read more

I've been going to the 19th St location for over ten years. It's gone through 3 different companies, Trufit took over and trashed it out to the point of it closing. But didn't tell any of it's customers until 2 days before they locked the doors. Now we are forced to go to the other locations which are either a safety concern or has less than half of the machines that a gym should have. Trufit is a decent gym. I prefer the one on 4th. The assistant manager was good at his job and signed my sister up to start a membership.

Restrooms are very dirty. No soap in any of dispensers. No paper towels. Sauna needs to be cleaned. Will add pictures later if not fixed in a few days. read more

I responded to an e-mail asking for payment that I was suspending my payments because of the Covid-19 situation. After getting no response I went to club and no one available because of the pandemic. Seven weeks later I get a call from a Bitch asking for payment and wanting proof of my e-mail. I forwarded the e-mail dated 3/19/20 and she said that Paramount who sent me the payment request was not her company and therefore not valid. She ask that I could buyout my contract and I told her I no longer am looking to pay for a monthly membership. she has threatened to turn to collections and ruin my credit. I say we send her cancellations from everyone that has struggled during these crazy times and let them know we will not be afraid to do what we need to just to survive in these new times regardless of any threats made.
