The Egg re-hatched on January 8th after a nearly $20 M renovation. That was great news! It was…read morestarting to become an eyesore with its aging seating and bathrooms. Now, it's a sight for sore eyes! Better sound system and LED lighting were among the upgrades. A little more seating. New seats and flooring. New wall coverings. The public was invited to check out the improvements at a free evening event. When you consider that the distinctive facility is about a half century old, the upgrades were overdue. The helpful ushers are not paid to be tour guides so I'm not sure how accurate their information was. Some ushers said the bathrooms were not renovated. The bathrooms I visited did have upgrades, but I cannot understand why the some of the original hardware including the old, chipped sanitary napkin receptacles were screwed back into the womens' bathrooms stalls. It seriously detracted from the overall appearance and seemed to be a bad penny pinching decision after so much money was spent. I can't tell you about the men's rooms. The men in our group of friends said they thought some work had been done. The Egg's unique shape was inspired by the half grapefruit that Gov. Rockefeller was eating during a planning meeting. In this day and age of large venues, it remains a more intimate setting. The Kitty Carlisle Hart theatre has a capacity of just under 1,000 seats and there's another smaller theater just below it. I was in the audience a few years ago when Pete Davidson did his stand-up act at the Egg. He complained about the small size of the venue. He added another show for same day just to make it worth his while. I came away offended by some of what he tried to pass off as humor. If performers like Davidson don't want to play the Egg again, I'm okay with that. It has great acoustics for fine artists of a whole different caliber. The Egg re-cracked open with aerial performances by Good Karma Studio and the DJ Hollyw8d. Looking forward to attending many awesome performances in this newly improved venue!

We are grateful to the whole team at Burch Supply as a defect in one of the cabinets could have derailed the whole project. Our very cozy apartment is ground level, which comes with a few drawbacks (mostly that bugs find their way in more easily, and increased humidity = mold growing more easily). But the maintenance team is very responsive in helping manage these. These apartments were converted from an old folks home so if you're lucky; you'll get a wheelchair accessible apartment with some extra elbow room. Rude, unprofessional, arrogant, she would not allow me to explain my score went down due to something on my credit I am currently challenging. She kept my application fee and told me to get lost. I can only imagine how she treats tenants that challenge her when she is wrong. Here's the topper: I am upgrading my MB this weekend to a newer model. AnnMarie doesn't get it.

The grounds are kept clean 2. Maintenance is super friendly and do the best they can within their means. 3. Plenty of parking The negatives: 1. Mouse issue: major concerns are ignored. I caught several and found piles of mouse droppings. I requested help for a year little to no response. My apartment is VERY clean, I had to leave my utensils in the dishwasher and all food basically out of reach. 2. They pick and choose who's worthy of all new appliances when moving in. I received a refrigerator loaded with mouse droppings. 3. My door number wasn't visible the door paint chipping and stripping broken. My packages delivered to the wrong address. When I asked I was told to put in a work order, I did and nothing, however they painted doors for tenants moving in after me and gave them new numbers. 4. During Covid I got a noise complaint one email and a few days later a letter with eviction terminology. I have two athletic kids and covid just started. The landlord sided with her long term tenants immediately even asked if she could speak to my children. I have to say that was a huge insult i found myself justifying my parenting by saying wait my oldest child is a doctor, behavior is so important to me. I almost lived at my moms house to avoid complaints as the kids adjusted to covid all while still paying my rent on time. 4. They force their way in your apartment if they want things done on their time frame even when it's non emergency. 5. Inside of the apartment isn't updated outdated everything. 6. Air conditioning outside was sparking with fire flames! Because of the way things are patched and half fixed this is SCARY! 7. Last I would not recommend to ANY African Americans, pre-judgements and differential treatment is obvious. Again I wanted to like this place and I think it certainly has potential with new non bias management. Don't expect luxury living. Their kindness diminishes after you move in, they seem bothered. The owner obviously has no concern for things being done fairly. I now understand the high turnover and get the two months free rent offer for longer leases. I truly do not recommend this complex. Especially to African Americans. Clearly an obvious bias by Christine who manages the property. I've been with them 3 years after I sold my home and it's been horrible! Again I was clean and paid on time! STAY AWAY!
