When you enter the first thing you notice is the smell. It about knocks you over. The smell of dogs is so strong. I know it's a vet, but I nearly had to go outside to breathe. Once you get over that initial shock you will notice the office is not modern. It is not state of the art. It is an old style veterinary. Reminds me of circa 1970's-1980's. They do take credit/bank card. The vet I saw was an old man. He was very sweet and seemed to truly love animals. He was very kind to our animals and took time with them. My dogs weren't even nervous like they normally are....surprising considering the smells I'm sure they were taking in. He stood and talked to me for quite awhile and told me a lot about his past. He had worked with the Indiana State Fair and area County fairs for years. So he not only spent time in his office, but he was out there with the people and their pets. Really made me think higher of him. His assistant/secretary was super nice and answered all my questions. Even though it didn't look like much they were thorough and followed through on all they were supposed to do to get us 4H ready again. As for the price.....much money was saved even with having to drive there. They are so much cheaper. All in all it ended up being a good experience even if it was stinky. :)

I was traveling from Hawaii with my little Cavalier, Belle, for the summer…read more After noticing her cough hadn't subsided for a long time, I began to panic after asking another vet friend about her symptoms. I called and spoke with Tonya who was able to get us in immediately. Dr. Brooke McAfee diagnosed my little angel with Mitral Valve disease after some X-rays and listening to her murmur. Receiving this news was life altering- Belle has been my baby for almost 8 years. Dr. Brooke is amazing- she has the most wonderful and kind nature, inclusive of the empathy so many veterinarians lack these days. She guided me through all of the next steps, and I genuinely felt she cared even knowing we weren't a long term client/patient. I'm beyond grateful for everything Dr. Brooke, Tonya and their staff here did for us while we were in Indiana. Without question, 5 stars!

Pet Prairie was kind enough to let us stay with our kitten while he was cremated, walking us through the entire process. My biggest fear going in was that I wouldn't get his remains back, in part due to reviews placed on various platforms and just me being paranoid. I can confirm that contrary to other reviews, I received my kitten and he is now home and at peace. I am so grateful for how supportive and understanding they were during this difficult time. In 15-20 years I know who I'm calling, and who I can trust to help my family through these tough times. We are so very grateful. Rest In Peace Lupin.

I've been taking a total of four dogs and one cat here for the past 13 or more years. I used to think of it as my best option. But... 1. They ran tests on my dog and found she had mouth cancer. When I asked what they could do to keep the area clean, they shaved the fur around her mouth and did a half-way job cleaning the area. They told me to find a canine oncologist. I found another vet who told me she was just "doing her job," and consulted with the oncology department at Purdue and treated her. 2. When I made an appointment for my 4 year-old dog to have a dental and wart removal, they sent me an estimate, the max price listed around $400, but they charged $660! I've been trying to speak to someone about the extra $200 charge--three phone calls, two texts--for nearly four weeks, and have not received a call back.F
