I went to this tanning salon about 2 years ago and had a mediocre experience. I lasted about 3 months/10 sessions & as that's about as much as I'll ever tan, I stopped. This year, to prepare for Spring Break, I decided to give them another try. I stupidly bought the buy 3, get one free promotion. The price was decent (although if you break it down as price per minute, it's $$$). The salon was HOT. Like pass out hot! The poor girl up front was so nice (A+ to her), but she was clearly uncomfortable & trying to keep the customers moving along. The cluster of fans were all broken, as the young lady up front answered when I asked. They were covered in dust & lint, obviously having sat there a while. I grabbed one of 4 'clean' hand towels on my way back to my booth. It only got hotter, as my tanning booth was all the way in the back. Plus, it didn't help that another client was recently in the tanning tube, so it was still hot from that use. If the A/C was working, or if there was a fan in my private room, I would have been ok. It was dark, hot, a tight fit & the floor was filthy. After shuffling myself into the tanning booth, after literally shuffling in on my socks & taking my socks off INSIDE the booth, (I didn't want my feet touching the dirty tiled floor), I grew even hotter! The machine itself was in horrible shape! Broken plexiglass, door didn't shut all the way from the inside and missing an interior handle! I had to use my nails to close the door, which kept opening! Then, when I was done, dripping in sweat, as the $$$ machine didn't have any circulation, I was unhappily greeted by my 1 of 4 washcloths. I dabbed my face and I promise, it was sandpaper. Ouch! Next, a quick trip to the bathroom where I was met with a dirty restroom, rocking toilet (ever heard of a plumber or a wax-ring?), and a sink that needs a professionals help. No hand towels, just a wall dryer that puts out HEATED AIR. I wish I didn't care about $, or I wouldn't go back and use my 3 remaining tans. I'll come prepared with ice packs & a gallon of water to drink next time. I think they just get business, as they're the ONLY tanning Salon in Westminster. Sad.

However that is not the case here, the new owner does not understand how to properly greet and service her customers. Just when you thought customer service was bad at the MVA...Bahamas Tanning is much worse, it is like cruel torture. When I walked through the door I was rudely asked what I wanted and if I had an appointment. I did not have an appointment but was willing to schedule one. I stood behind the desk and was asked my last name...and I didn't come up in the computer, meaning that all the sessions that I had previously purchased were gone. It sounds like the new owner will not honor any carry-over sessions from the previous ownership therefore I was back to square one, filling out a information form. Then I had to decide what new package to purchase...so I asked her to explain them and she says...here's the unlimited and the per sessions...pick one!!!!! After standing there patiently while she was helping others behind me, the crowd cleared and she finally acknowledged me again and she said...WELL! I then placed my clipboard down and preceded to ask her why she was being so rude to me...I then walked out. Oh as I was leaving she did tell me to have a good day! If you prefer professional and friendly service there are other wonderful tanning salons in town. I left there and went across the street to Hollywood Tan, and was greeted with a friendly face and a tour and a tho row explanation of all of the prices, which were much easier to understand. The establishment was much cleaner than Bahamas.

The service was rushed and sloppy but still took over an hour somehow?? Nails are thick, uneven, and misshapen. The edges flare out like duck nails. I asked for square. I asked for french tip regular polish but was given gel. I sad I wanted regular polish and they argued with me, stating gel was better.

When I told her I was coming out to visit, she said she already had an appointment lined up but it was unfortunately for after I was going to be leaving. We called Tyler and he was super accommodating! He bumped up her appointment by a few days AND was able to get me in too. He is so much fun, easy to talk to, and oh so talented. I was unsure about having someone do my hair because I always go with fun colors and my mom has pretty easy hair to maintain as she keeps her natural color, but I am so glad I took her advice. Tyler took his time and clearly really cares about his clients. The salon itself has a fun environment in a reconverted house type building in beautiful downtown Westminster. Thank you times a million, I'll be back next time I roll through MD!

The person who wrote negatively about her couldn't be any more wrong. And though she does have an E-cigg she does NOT smoke it near customers, not even in the same room. Also Kasey once offered to fix something I didn't like for free, so I guarantee you will always leave there happy. Mandi does a wonderful job on styles as well. All these ladies have skills! Also got a manicure by Ashley, and it was just adorable with multiple accent nails and custom designs. I messed it up by mistake and she fixed it without complaint. She even told me what to do at home to upkeep it and keep it lasting longer. Regrettably, that I have not tried getting a massage here, but I really want one soon.

She always listens to exactly what I want and makes recommendations based on what is best for my hair. She is very understanding and not only works to make the customer happy-she also furthers her hair education as a cosmetologist. When I come to get my hair done, it is always more like coming to visit with a friend because she helps me relax and enjoy my time in the chair. I can't recommend her strongly enough.
