Before I even hired him, he spent a good bit of time on the phone with me to answer questions on how he could help me with my case. The fact that he got the case dismissed so quickly says even more about how great of a lawyer he is!

If you need to go to court, this is the guy you want on your side…read more He prepares meticulously and does not enter a courtroom to LOSE. Don't let his laid-back demeanor fool you--he is wicked smart, an absolute powerhouse, and more than professional in the courtroom. I would 100 percent never want to be opposing him in court, that's for sure. When I was facing the prospect of needing a family law attorney, I had no idea where to start in this highly stressful and emotional time. I was lucky enough to be familiar with two Napa Sheriff court bailiffs. These gentlemen both referred me to Matt Bishop. One told me that if he ever had to sit on the other side of the table, the only person he would want in his corner was Matt Bishop. I ended up needing Matt Bishop more than I ever realized. I was facing a separation. This turned into a muliti year high conflict divorce with complex asset division, business issues, child custody, child support, a move away request, mediation, custody evaluation, private mediation, therapists, guardian ad litem, supervised visitation, high asset property sales, criminal court dealings, restraining orders, depositions, multiple hearings and domestic violence issues. He was the rock and advocate I needed in my corner. He kept myself, my children, and our assets safe. He speaks plainly and maintains honesty, telling you the hard truths you need to hear. Anytime a complex asset division, legal hurdle, or business issue arises where he doesn't immediately know the answer, he finds the professional needed to advise and get the job done. His billing is fair, and he is a man of deep integrity who truly helps people. I have since confidently referred him to others for both family and business matters, and he has helped them to complete satisfaction as well. He gave me my peace of mind at every turn. If you need to go to court, this is the guy you want on your side.

All lawyers aren't created equal. When you don't have enough money, you lose their interest. Losing their interest leads to poor representation. That couldn't be more evident here. I was not educated about my plea options. My life is ruined when there was a chance to repair it by taking the right plea. Why would I take a plea with no options and would ruin my life? Because Maas doesn't know the law or wasn't interested in representing me correctly. That's my honest experience. I don't expect him to take responsibility which is another reason to avoid using him. There's the real truth.

It's baffling how they manage to sleep at night. Knowing they are doing absolutely nothing to help their clients. I wouldn't trust this public defender to defend a parking ticket, let alone a serious criminal case. It's clear that this public defender couldn't care less about the lives they are responsible for and should probably consider a career change, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this excuse. DAVID WOO'd me with his promises and Bedside manner, to the point I trusted and exclusively signed for him to work on the case. I honored my agreement and waited patiently for him to deliver all of the things he promised: I did not work with other lawyers or firms.... And for my loyalty and integrity instead I was ignored, tossed around from paralegal to paralegal... and then when I (6 months into this) cried to him that my family was suffering ...
