Sadly, I have to update my review, I had a long list of maintenance issues that I turned into AIM a month ago and nothing and I mean absolutely nothing has been done. these are all major code violations such as, I have no GFI outlets in my house, I have massive leaks in my bathroom, my AC my hot water heater and basement drains nothing has been done to rectify it, I have black mold growing in the corners of my garage, on Friday my AC went out, it is now Tuesday afternoon and absolutely nothing has been done, their on-call staff, their answering service staff, and their maintenance staff, have all done absolutely nothing very very disappointed

As soon as we signed the lease, however, everything started going downhill. Working with AIM for the past year has felt like a constant battle. - They scheduled the carpets to be cleaned ON THE DAY we were moving in (which we had told them in advance), so we had to cram all of our furniture and boxes in the one room in the house that had hard floors so that the carpets could dry. - It suddenly became very difficult to get ahold of AIM via phone or email. We started going to their office in person whenever we had an issue. - We soon discovered that the house was full of maintenance issues when we moved in, some of which were actually dangerous (ie. a completely blocked sewer line, broken toilet, severely cracked kitchen floor tiles, multiple smoke detectors not working, a soft spot in the floor of the porch, rotting wood around the windows, etc.). Some of those issues were fixed right away, but only after we went into AIM's office in person, and when we had to call emergency maintenance as our basement flooded with sewer water. - During the stay-at-home order in the COVID-19 pandemic, AIM became almost impossible to reach, despite their voicemail recording saying they were all working from home. - We had MAJOR pest problems. Some of the more "normal" problems we had were a spider-infested basement (I realize that's pretty common, but ours was excessive), a mouse in the kitchen, carpenter ants everywhere (some had wings), and carpenter bees in the porch. But that's just the beginning of it... Back in the fall, AIM sent maintenance out to the house to haphazardly fix a bunch of things before a scheduled city inspection, and one of the things they did was slap some wood over some holes in the roof, but they never made sure the animals who made the holes were out of there. Around January, we started hearing loud scratching and thumping in the attic that was loud enough to wake us up at night. After submitting multiple maintenance requests online and trying to contact AIM about it for LITERALLY 4 MONTHS WITH NO RESPONSE, I finally called a pest control company myself to do an inspection, and they said we had squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and bats AT MINIMUM living in our roof, and the holes in the roof were big enough for possums and raccoons to get in as well. To this day, I don't know if they ever trapped the animals or patched the holes correctly. Future tenants of 514 Forest, be warned. - I submitted a move-out notice 60 days in advance on their website, to which I got no response, so I sent them a written notice a week later to make sure they received it. Once again, no response. My roommate submitted one on their website and got a short response, so at least they confirmed that they got our message that we're moving out when our lease ends on July 15. When the beginning of our last month started, their website charged us a full month's rent, so we decided to pay the prorated amount in cash in person. When we did, they asked us "are you sure you're moving out on the 15th?" even though we had sent THREE move-out notices making that clear. We did our best to be good tenants: we tried to communicate clearly and politely, pay all rent and fees in full and on time, and take good care of the house we were renting. I even fixed a few minor maintenance issues myself, at my own expense, when we couldn't get ahold of AIM. We held up our end of the deal and then some, but they seemed to only do the bare minimum. We felt taken advantage of. My intention in writing this review is not to be mean, I just want to honestly share my experience and warn future tenants about this company. Unless they become more organized and reachable, I do not recommend renting property from them.

I was a bit trepidatious at heading back to apartment living after 20+ years of being in a house…read more However, when we stumbled upon Woodstone Apartments, I knew we were in the right place. But first, a bit of background on Parkview Hills, where Woodstone Apartments is located. Established in the late 1960s by Dr. Batts (founder of the Kalamazoo Nature Center, as well as a professor of ecology and ornithology at Kalamazoo College) and Mr. Upjohn (you'll be familiar with that name - he was a local businessman and philanthropist; the ER at Borgess Medical Center is named after him), this planned community includes houses, condos, and apartments. There are 288 acres in Parkview Hills, which include several lakes, streams, marshland, fields, wooded areas, and plenty of trails. Living here is like living AT a nature center - but with the amenities of being on a city bus route, and a gorgeous and useful clubhouse (we use the pool almost every day). We were lucky enough to rent an apartment in Woodstone and have been here for many years. One of the things that I love most about living here is the diversity of fellow tenants. There is a wide age range, from senior citizens to families with young kids. I absolutely LOVE seeing kids play out in the safe, grassy area tucked in the L of the apartment. At night, you'll see other kinds of kids playing - the local fawns! Parkview Hills has a sizeable deer population, and it's just lovely to watch them graze at night. I also appreciate living in a community that is globally diverse. We might need to get some potlucks going up in the gathering room on the 3rd floor! I always learn something from everyone I talk with - everyone is so friendly, and lifelong friendships have been established for sure. Management is efficient and speedy when dealing with requests. Dan (maintenance) is incredibly friendly and good at his job, promptly fixing drains, lightbulbs, and the like; Brandee (property manager) is always swiftly on top of things, especially when dealing with problems that can inevitably arise in an apartment building. I appreciate their thorough and timely assistance when needed. I also love the secure building, the availability of plenty of handicap parking spots, Parkview Hills Security, the amenities of and activities at the clubhouse (Chinese cooking lessons with WMU's Confucius Institute; monthly art gatherings, and the like), and the extensive trails for walking. I can't imagine a better place to live, with better neighbors and management. If you're lucky enough to live here, you'll concur.

A Trust owned the property, not the tenant. EVEN after the tenant paid the judgement out of fear. The property management company filing as the HOA thinks they have the validity to seize the property. Not to mention the owner of the Property Management Company notarized all the documents breaking notary rules 101. This company operates in the shadows, violating any rule they can. Resulting in a Multitude of Lawsuits against the parties they pretend to be.
