I've lived in Joe's neighbourhood for about 6 months now and I really don't know what I'd do…read morewithout him. I live closer to Pat's Grocery but the fact that they don't accept debit and are only open until 5 makes me take a few extra strides to Joe's Kwik-Way. Completely family owned, you'll find a member of Joe's family happy to serve you. Joe himself is quite a character, a strong silent type, but quirks like a funny grandpa. Sometimes he'll suggest to me new products he got in that I should try, and not in a "I'm sitting on 3 crates of this stuff and it's gotta go" kind of way. Granted, the store isn't too quick to refresh it's shelves, and stuff pretty much stays there until it's bought, but nothing that's totally out of control. While your in Joe's, more then likely when a customer comes in through the door, you'll hear them say "Hey Joe" (They're not quoting Hendrix) Joe is the most popular guy in my neighbourhood and he runs a good store too.

I have been ordering-in from Alexandra's for YEARS. I find the pizza is always consistent and is…read morepretty tasty. The delivery drivers are pretty chill, and are always friendly to my "yappy" dog. Delivery most times is pretty speedy they usually do a good job at telling you over the phone when your order is going to arrive-if its a busy night they usually mention it. I have tried their club sandwich and I'm pretty sure it was canned chicken-it had a metallic taste. I also ordered dessert once--they don't really have any options and I got the cheesecake which had no toppings and came frozen. Really disappointed in that. So, I'd stick with what they do best-pizza and garlic fingers. We (me and my BF) always get pizza sauce instead of donair sauce for 2 reasons-we prefer it, and their donair sauce is always separated, chunky, and watery at the top...doesn't seem...right. This is the only reason I haven't tried their online ordering system--you can't make specifications like pizza sauce over donair sauce. I find their prices a bit high--a 2L, Lg pep, md garlic fingers will put you back $40. You can get the same thing from other pizza places for less then $30. It would be nice if they had specials once in a while--their "specials" have been listed on their website/menu as long as we've been ordering there, making them not-so-special and none are really a good value, either... My only last bit is make sure to pre-heat your oven while you wait for your pizza to arrive--its ALWAYS cold. ALWAYS. Overall I recommend them if you're looking for some standard tasty 'za.

Rush Hour Pizza is that little hole-in-the-wall pizza spot that everyone knows. Really, though,…read morethey should be called Rush Hour Donairs because the donairs are the star in the menu. Sure, my boyfriend often opts for the poutine (which is stellar) and I like their subs, but the donairs are the main attraction. Rush Hour is run by a family and you can tell the dedication as soon as you enter the store. Family pictures are posted over the cash register and there's usually two or three members of the family floating around the kitchen. There's a counter installed along the front wall of the store, but I've never seen anyone eating there. There are two drawbacks to Rush Hour. One is that their pizza really isn't all that great. I've had much better pizzas, to be honest. The second is there is a criminal lack of parking spaces - most often, you have to park on the side of Windsor Street and hope that someone doesn't clip you coming through the intersection. A particular bonus is that Rush Hour has debit on delivery items - definitely a plus for people like me who rarely carry cash.

The reviews were good, but now I'm realizing they're probably based on the market and not the meals. I ordered the lasagna for $9.95 and it tasted like it had been previously frozen. You get what you pay for! It was actually lukewarm when I opened it, so I had to nuke it. It lacked flavor, to say the least. Hubby said the spaghetti with meatballs was also average, at best. The caprese salad that he ordered was the worst he's ever had. If you look at the photo of the salad, you can see that the tomatoes aren't even ripe. They also gave the wrong dressing for this salad. Typically it comes with balsamic dressing but they gave us Italian dressing instead. Next time we'll stick with an Italian restaurant.
