Although their doctors are knowledgeable, the front office is impossible to get on the phone.

I'm only one reviewer, taken from a perspective I'm developing years later, so don't just assume…read morethe worst or take this further when I mean this pragmatically and constructively. I was a regular patient during custody warfare and parental alienation that was stunting my growth and breaking what little health I had to prevent me from more. Usually when i spoke with Trish, I'd play the games in her office, pour out details in tears where she'd tell me there was hope and it wasn't my fault, and so on. The office was a quaint space with old construction and design, and her office wasn't part of the elevated division. I'm leaving two stars because of when I called Trish years later after moving to another city out of heightened confusion and with little routes to turn I couldn't easily reach in an escalated, dangerous, precarious situation that would've made the future problematic. I did my best to communicate I need simpler and more stable, I didn't have room in my circumstances to work for that, and I was in danger by settings I was supposed to see as "normal" and "valuable" that would've diverted me from my health and safety and made me engage in their ideal routines to distract me and make everyone not ask questions. She had replied I didn't want a life of retreating and taking care of myself, I did have resources to rely on, and there was more to life out there I wanted to experienced as long as I pushed myself forward. being paranoid and traumatized even today, I didn't take it personally when she rebuffed where I knew I stood and had to protect myself. But I was left overwhelmed with the dreadful sense of disaster and more of a guarantee I didn't have an out, a plan, or basic professional support because yet again, I can't communicate with someone who isn't there and takes in the circumstances impartially and considering the possible causes and effects like I weigh every day. I don't think she's a bad, incompetent therapist, and I'm not insisting on any retaliation against her and her business. She made the wrong assumptions about me then and told me she's only familiar with certain perspectives and directions without saying it outright. She probably needs to walk herself through that. I'm older, handling responsibilities from legal reports to basic stability, and trying to be impartial about my whole life, so I don't believe in a set reality or talk or think like that. All I'm saying about Trish is she offers great services and has great potential, just not matching everyone. She'll have to understand her limitations and continue as she does or adapt, and patients shouldn't afraid of honesty and dialogue. I at the very least know she's got a sense of honesty about where she doesn't and doesn't know certain directions with different clients. Just, best of luck with making the best of the situation and making your own judgments, because you all deserve that room if you're all putting that in.

Trish is a wonderful therapist. I have gone to her for 10 years with the many kids I fostered. She…read moreis a wonderful person with a wealth of knowledge and helpful resources.

Dr. Koff is conservative and thoughtful with medications prescribed, which is best for overall…read morehealth. He takes the time to take in your entire background and struggles, and he makes his assessment according to research. He's not just some "Pill Doc" who hands out ADHD meds to drug seekers. (No doubt the drug seekers are the ones responsible for bad reviews.) He genuinely wants to help. He has always been pleasant to me, a good listener, and fully discussed my mental health treatment options. Thanks to his careful scrutiny, I am getting back on my feet with ZERO negative side effects. The doctor I saw before moving to Wilmington had me on medication that caused very serious side effects. It is glorious to feel like myself again. See Dr. Koff if you genuinely want help and not just medications to mask your symptoms.

I've been meaning to write this interview for almost a year now....Koff is very intense and had a…read morevery cold, detached and arrogant demeanor. I saw this doc while I was with my wife as she did a travel nursing assignment in Wilmington for several months from ~August to December '15. I had a heck of a time finding an appointment within a decent time period when I arrived in town, and despite the reviews, I knew he had prescribing authority, being an M.D. and all, so I made an appointment anyway. In any other town of decent size, I would've never seen this guy in the first place. I ALWAYS scour reviews for anything important and almost always weed out the duds. This dude was unsurprisingly available. Psychiatrists can be a bit, or a lot, stuffy, and that's fine; this guy has about the coldest demeanor I've seen in a psychiatrist. I've seen about 10 shrinks since I was about 27 (I'm 44), and this guy is the second biggest (I'll leave to imagination) psychiatrist I've seen. The first shrink I ever saw made me feel like a product rather than a human also. I'd say Koff is runner up... Actually, in his initial consultation/"interrogation" I almost walked out, but I was interested in getting meds and that seemed to be something he was adequate at providing. I'm not sure I've had a JOB INTERVIEW as awkward. Arrogant and flip - everything you'd ever want in a mental health practitioner. I decided that in order to see a decent psychiatrist, I would have to travel. Shortly after this visit I went to Durham, NC for an ADHD specialist. She was great and gave me the meds I needed without any riff-raff. Koff also had no personality to speak of; to be fair completely fair though, I can't personally speak to how he might be on his off hours; he may host a mean cocktail party and serve drinks with umbrellas he personally made, and serve as the house comedian, but in office there was nothing redeeming to be found in this person. If you are "stuck" or are living long term in Wilmington, it may be advisable to travel to see a good psychiatrist within a reasonable amount of time, unless you've got "the stomach". I'm now in Albuquerque and am fortunate to have found the BEST psychiatrist I've ever been to (in all "categories"). Good luck to you all in your quest.
