After dealing with these women, she feels deflated and does not like the school. I had to interact with them by phone and in person when we were registering my girl for school....soon realized these women just really do not want to be bothered with students or parents. Today, friends told me that this is the reputation of this school...(negative staff). What a shame...such a disappointment we have for this little campus now.

After 7 years I'm going back to school. While attending I had a lot of blows to my confidence, but…read morethe biggest blow, the one that really discouraged me as a student came from a Christian institution. As hard as I worked at SWCC, SGA, Kappa Pi Sigma member and president, Chorus President and even went on 3 tours (2 spring, 1 summer), I was NOT allowed to graduate with my class. Not because I was not qualified to graduate, but because of a personal vendetta Dean Turner had against me.. that apparently she had with so many others. I was denied the right, and told I would have to come back for an additional semester, but see I knew that I wasn't a failure, or supposed to be there an extra semester. When I registered for my classes my GPA wasn't high, but it was good enough to get by. I talked to Dean Turner before my last semester, and she told me I was on track to graduate. My parents heard her tell me I was on track to graduate! The day before graduation Dean Turner told me that I wasn't going to walk. She would not let me see my transcripts to understand why I wasn't able to graduate, and I'm ashamed to say I even went across the desk. I was gonna beat her up.. and my Daddy saved her life. 10 years later Dean Hodrige and Dr. Jackson have cleared my name. They took a look at my transcripts and found 3 classes listed that I never even took, and the grades were listed as an "F". They removed the fraudulent classes, and are awarding me my Associates Degree. It took 10 years, and a new staff to make this discouraging wrong into a right, but I'm glad I took the time to them, because I had written Southwestern Christian College off, and said I would NEVER support them again. I'm open to change, and this is just the first step, it is a much appreciated step.

So first things first?…read more What exactly is The UNT New College at Frisco? Think of it as a school where all the big businesses in the area got together, told UNT what kind of things they'd love to see in graduating college kids, and then UNT made programs tailoring to that. Bam. You've got the Frisco campus. No, it's not just a business school, although a heavy focus of the curriculum is put on accounting, finance, things like writing press releases, fund raising, public relations, etc. All sorts of things are taught there that corporations have a huge desire to see more focus on. Another key thing about the Frisco location is that it is predominantly all night classes, so it's tailor made for those already in the work force, maybe those wanting to get a different degree or even further an existing degree. You can still come here and do some basics (I took chemistry and a psychology course here) but they are typically afternoon to evening courses. Lots of the commuter students at the main Denton campus like the Frisco campus because parking is free and PARKING IS FREE. Yeah. It's worth putting twice. Plus they are super freaking friendly here. They always great you with a smile when you walk in, they give you free swag all over the place and I swear...It's like they remember you paid them to go there or something. Amazing. They cater food in all the time for all students and you can rent a laptop, use a printer, get scantrons, all free. Instructors are fantastic. I hope they offer more daytime options for core classes. It's a great facility.

Everyone was inviting and helpful. The campus deserves Five Stars but the curriculum offered was not in line with our goals. We were informed that the website needed to be updated and the information we had was incorrect. Kinda of a waste of our time :(

As a parent, I would NOT recommend East Texas A&M…read more Freshmen are essentially forced to live in the dorms, and the environment my child experienced there was extremely concerning. We received multiple official safety alerts from the university, including an armed robbery in a dorm, a terroristic threat with an arrest in a residence hall, a stalking incident that led to a police pursuit, and a hazing investigation. Imagine knowing your child is required to live in that environment. My child described it as feeling like they were living in a prison, constantly on edge instead of feeling safe. No parent should have to worry like that. To make it worse, we paid around $22,000 for just two semesters, and it absolutely did not feel worth it. I am honestly just grateful this experience is almost over. If you are a parent, please do your research and think very carefully before sending your child here. I would not make the same decision again.

The diversity of the population of students was the most impressive. All my concerns about my child's safety, or feeling out of place were minimized. I did notice that all the female African American or black students were alone, and not in groups like the Hijabi girlies. Then again I also noticed every Asian girl was accompanied by an Asian male counterpart. I hope its not offensive to say it felt like a campus full of nerds. I liked it. I means my child will study and focus.
