It's wild when all you want is a copy of the exams preformed on my dogs. The owner never apologized nothing. in fact I was met with, everyone wants the service but dont wanna pay. I'm confused I just want a copy of the records sr .. Very odd clinic . Terrible. only thing good is they get you in quick that should have been a red flag guess that's on me! Also young girl in the exam room was a sweet . Other than that your days are numbered if you go!

I saw the bad reviews of this place and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, partly…read morebecause they were the only vet in town that could get my cat in asap. To begin: when I was initially making the appointment, whoever I was speaking to gave me a cost estimate of what my visit would be, but I ended up paying triple the amount. I was only going in for an examination and a singular test to confirm/deny my suspicion of what was wrong with my cat (even if I only ended up paying for just that, the cost was still double what she said). They ended up prescribing him a bunch of meds based off a previous diagnosis, which I can understand the precaution, but keep in mind there were no definitive test results yet and out of fear for my cat's wellbeing I went along with what they were saying despite what my gut was telling me, because who am I to question the experts? For one, one of the antibiotics given was explicitly for skin infections; my cat had GI issues, so I am not sure why that was even given, but again, I am not an expert. On top of that though, the amount of that medicine given to me was less than the amount prescribed, so I ran out before I was supposed to. I didn't even bother asking for more to complete the regimen because when I finally got the test results (three days after they said it would be ready!!!) all the medicine my cat was already taking was ineffective and I had to get a whole new prescription. Prior to this, every day throughout the week I would call and ask about the results and I was told something different every day-- it would be the next day at the latest, or no one was there to read the results, or the lab had messed up and needed to rerun the test. All of this hassle for a whole week just for my cat to get diagnosed with a tapeworm. I then inquired if the new prescription was truly necessary compared to dewormer from the petstore, and whoever I was on the phone with said they did not know and No One was in the office who would know that answer. Seems ridiculous that not a single person in a veterinarian office could answer that simple question. I ended up purchasing a cheaper alternative with the same active ingredient in the one they were going to prescribe. This is not even mentioning the body language and tone discrepancies I encountered with some of the front desk people. I am not one to ever write reviews like this because I know that sometimes people are just not having a good day, but in my experience this past week, it seemed consistent that this vet office is just not the best option to go to in Huntsville.

She assured me that it was not in anyway ok to be treated like this and that she would work to correct that issue with the staff. After our conversation I can see that the mission of Rita B Huff Humane Society is a good one. As a not for profit, private shelter they receive no money from the State or Feds they do the best they can to help Walker County and the city of Huntsville. Strays are a huge problem and it is not a cheap problem. As a person who currently has 27 dogs that were dumped in Trinity County I understand the issues that shelters face. Thank you Laurie for reaching out and being willing to have a conversation. I hope that all the dogs in your facility find forever homes very soon.

‼This shelter has the most unprofessional workers we have ever been to‼:…read more * Staff members are mean and called me and my fiancée "sketchy" (their words not mine) when trying to fill out an adoption application. We were new to the adoption process since this was our first time filling out a pet form and yes ofc i made a few mistakes filling out the form. We asked if they had white out and the one of the receptionist ladies rolled her eyes and tossed a brand new form for me to fill out instead. I had to redo the entire form. * We are a younger interracial couple who are financially stable. My fiancé is white and I am hispanic. The ladies treated my fiancé nicer than me the entire process. We both were being professional and polite the entire time as they were being two faced with us. The ladies would be short with me and only try to talk to my fiancée even though I was filling out the adoption form and would adopt the kittens under my name and account. * One of the weirdest requirements when adopting a pet was they wanted to tour inside the place we lived to ensure the pet is living in a safe environment. Since they only let ppl adopt within city limits it gives them that opportunity to do so. That is my personal space and no need for a stranger to come into my home knowing where i live, just to inspect and approve. I understand that they want the pet to be safe but that is taking it too far. * They also delete any bad comments off of their social media platforms to keep their reputation intact. Not everything on social media is true and the best. There is a picture down below showing they took my comment down as an example. Instead of improving they continue to draw people away by their rudeness to customers * We never got a call back so my finance made the call to the shelter the lady for a follow up. The receptionist was rude to us and didn't take us seriously. Blew us off the entire time. * All the people who work there are older middle aged women. No wonder. They are mean and grumpy. The shelter would not stand a chance in bigger city limits such as Houston/Austin/etc. No one will go to that shelter for their way of dealing with customers. City shelters tend to treat their customers better and have less strict requirements. I feel terrible for the animals. If the staff are mean to the customers, what's keeping them from also mistreating the animals behind our backs. They have so many requirements and restrictions that it's very difficult to adopt a pet from that shelter. Just because their social media is bright and got a new location, doesn't give them the right to be rude to customers. These pets deserve a loving home. A home is a home!! Unfortunately we did not continue our adoption process for the way the staff treated us as customers. We wish the 2 kittens we fell in love with goes to a loving home that meets the shelters high standards. (their required inspection and unprofessional behavior drew us away from our adoption) In some way they did their best to keep us from adopting them. We were hoping to have an unproblematic happy adoption process as it should be. THEY ONLY WANT MONEY rather than a true loving adoption. (their "fake" social media platforms and screenshots prove everything) It's very disappointing how many people are unaware of the mistreatment going on in this shelter. IF u plan on adopting from this shelter, keep in mind on the staff's behavior and lengthy process

The vet, although I can't remember her name, had suggested we do a blood test to try and find the cause. After doing the blood test, they ensured me they would get in contact with me as soon as the results came in. About 3 days later I received a call from the vet tech telling me the results had come in, but that the vet was on vacation. I was given a general summary of the tests, they believed my cat had Feline Herpies. I asked where we go from here, and the vet tech assured me I would get a call Monday when the vet was back for the next steps. Monday came and I never got a call. My cat was getting worse. Refusing to eat, despite following directions the vet had given me. I called and the receptionhist was beyond rude, giving me attitiude for not knowing the name of the vet. After figuring it out, the receptionist told me the vet was on break, and that she would call me after. I never got a call. Mind you, all of this is happening during finals for college, so as you can imagine I was more than stressed. After never receiving a call Monday, I called again the next day, telling them my cat was getting worse and that we needed help. Once again, I was told the vet was out and unavailable to talk to me. After getting fed up, my grandmother called them and demanded they talk to me. ONLY THEN did the vet call me back and talk about medication options for my cat. I relayed to her on the phone that my cat was much worse than before and asked what we needed to do. The vet prescribed me a medicine that helps with appetite, mind you, the food had to be eaten, and my cat, was not eating. Due to the lack of help and assistance from this clinic, I ended up having to take my cat to an emergency clinic, where they stated she had gone into liver failure, and both her lungs and heart were filled with fluid. We showed them the tests from this vet, and even they stated that based on the results, this could have been prevented had steps of been taken sooner. We ended up having to put my cat down due to her mass amounts if suffering. Once again, this could have been prevented had the vet of actually taken her time to talk to me and help me. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't take the time to listen to your needs, nor help you.

It's been a long 8 weeks with our boy and we couldn't have gotten through it without them!
