The children who attend the school are from people who never left the neighborhood. If your child or you yourself are not from the neighborhood and do not drink the kool-aid you and your children will be treated poorly and graded poorly. The school does not encourage diversity, the staff is not diversified. The staff is comprised of mostly people from the area. Many parents are entitled police and fireman with the gangsta in a uniform mentality, which in turn the children mimic. This in turn makes the school environment hostile for children, who are learning intolerance for people different than them. Instead of being sensitive and aware of the problem, the leadership is more concerned about their hyper inflated ego and the fact responses are to conflict are threatening to you and your child's education. The best one I heard was "I am responsible for the largest school in the Archdiocese" and I personally, and I..I..I. No addressing situations that cause concern for your child. Just I..I..I. There are a few great teachers who do not deserve this review. There are others that I question their mental fitness to work with our youth. In one instance I questioned a grade for my child who loves school, and my child was torn down, made accusations against, and our family was torn down with my child. All for noticing a grading discrepancy. Don't expect anything less than South Side drama here.

She frequently yells into the microphone rules that she creates on a whim. When you ask her a question or express concern about the mistreatment of the patrons she is rude and dismissive. The volunteer staff are not trained properly and often skip patrons to service others (their favorites). They limit the number of games you can play/purchase because they lack the supplies to properly service all the patrons. And a fight broke at the start of a game. I've been attending off and on for the past 3 months and I recommend that you do not waste your time, energy, or money at this location. Alot of regulars that I encountered stated that they would not return either because of the mistreatment and inconsistency they encountered. DON'T WASTE YOU TIME OR MONEY!

I was then, and have always been welcome by their cordial secretaries, Mrs. Kubick and Mrs. Rose. I was instantly invited for a school tour and was able to witness first hand many neurons firing among the students. I truly believe this environment to be conducive to high educational level, high spiritual standards, as well as a high sense of commitment to one another. At St. Bruno, the teachers are extremely dedicated to the student growth as a whole. And the rest of the staff enthusiastically participates in their continued asuccess. I was surprised to learn how the eight graders actively interacted with the students in Kindergarden, and how the school dynamics allowed for the school building to feel like a safe and joyful home. I highly believe that the best gift for my children is their education. And, I will do everything in my power for them to get the best! Therefore, as a mother of two now, I highly recommend you this magnificent school!!

Grimes consistently rates well on local and national rankings and test scores average higher than the Chicago average. A new artificial turf playground and field were installed in May of 2014. The naming of the school seems a bit unclear. It may be named after a man who served many years in the US Navy. I do know it has NOTHING to do with the two Grimes sisters who were abducted in Chicago and their dead bodies found in Willow Springs. If you have additional information please share it with me.
