My children attend the Steiner Stream at Trinity Gardens School and we have found it to be a wonderful experience for our child and family. We have seen his confidence and his love for learning grow year by year and we put this down to the holistic and nurturing approach to education. This school is big on sustainability, put into practice this means no school bins. Children have to put scraps from recess back into their lunch box which can spoil other foods (Make sure you don't pack them a yoghurt) It also means the office will Never reprint you any permission slips. This school also prides itself on diversity. Yet the majority of the staff including The Principal , Vice Principal , all the office and the vast majority of teaching staff are women. They do have a male music and a male PE teacher. I pulled my child out of this school last year when I was told that it's the parents job to teach the times tables. Since putting my child into an independent school It's clear she's lacking basic educational skills. It's these basics that are being neglected in favour of promoting social agendas. While some social agendas may be important, this school does not have the balance right. To clarify my child was in mainstream not the Steiner program they run. On the plus side the school does have beautiful grounds and the children that attend are good natured and well mannered. read more
