I've been going to this church since I was born the priests have always been great,I recently…read morebecame a godmother and I was so excited for this spiritual blessing. The day I baptized my godson our priest was father issac, I was so upset I almost cried after because it was not what I expected it was a joke.... father issac made us feel like we were wasting his time, he made me feel dumb, he was not welcoming or caring. He didn't even greet us or turn on the church lights on a Saturday morning. He seemed hungover... and he was about 20 minutes late... im never going to this church again because of him it's sad because he made my baptism experience so basic I didn't even feel like it was real to him. I'll pray for him..

Had our wedding in StFS about a month ago and it was tremendous. Father Mike was adorable and warm…read moreand lovely and we can't wait to go back and see him. The ceremony of about 100 people only had about a dozen Catholics, but the whole night I kept getting compliments on how wonderful the priest was. He made everyone feel welcome and made us laugh a bunch. I was so nervous about all the pomp at a Catholic wedding and he totally made me feel relaxed and at ease. We loved him so much we asked him to come to both the rehearsal dinner at The Lodge and the reception at Cline and he came to both. Everyone wanted to get a few minutes with him it was so cute. Thank you Father Mike for making our wedding so special.

This charmingly quaint, traditional bible-based church is absolutely darling. I looked at this…read morechurch every time I drove past it on Chase Street. I always thought to myself "what a lovely little church. I wonder what their services are like?" But it took me three+ years to go in the front door. Walking in the first day (and every Sunday since) we were greeted by the nicest man named Harry who greets guests & delivers the services program. The church is so charming with it's pew-style seating and the beautiful rustic chandelier hanging from its high ceilings. The church capacity is maybe 120, tops, and we see 40-60 people there regularly (we've attended 4 times in the last months). The pastor, Art, and his wife and two high-school age children are genuinely kind and welcoming. Pastor Art is a gifted storyteller and an encouraging soul who's beaming smile shines out of his face. He brings me joy just watching him and listening to him speak about Jesus. My husband and I are feeling like regulars after only about a month attending. We can see they are evolving into something exciting, but at a pace the long-time parishioners can gracefully manage (change can be so hard in this setting). Currently ~90% of the absolutely charming and genuinely kind congregation is over 50, so the vibe is more "adult." As an observation, there is no children's church and no nursery. The music is relatively traditional, so while not extremely exciting (unless it's a heartfelt rendition of Amazing Grace or some other gospel blockbuster), Jenny's joyful handling of the music (which I think she is doing until they find a more permanent music coordinator) and Art's sermons, really make up for it. We brought our children one Sunday and they were the only under 14s in there. Regardless, they enjoyed the adults and the message. Art is great about keeping the service to about 60 minutes (11 am to noon) so he keeps your attention the entire experience (I rarely check the time). Our children enjoyed the "after church church" in the social/congregation room and the great food the parishioners cook & assemble - bringing people together to grab a bite and a beverage and socialize. It's a very nice and relaxing experience ... everyone is pretty relaxed and approachable. We have decided that this is the church that we will attend and continue to see where it goes. At some point, hopefully, we will become more involved and I will update this review. Until then I am very content to sit quietly near the back and simply be a regular attendee of our little neighborhood church. Background: I have been looking for a church for quite some time. I was raised by a great Christian family with various religious backgrounds, so I while I spent much of my growing up years at the Methodist Church, I also went to the Lutheran youth events, attended Baptist bible camps and attended parochial (Catholic) school from 5th - 8th grade ... as an adult I occasionally went to the Seventh Day Adventist church my ex-husband was raised in and I generally gravitated toward non-denominational churches. All I really cared about was that the church was biblical-based and that they love Jesus. At one point I just stopped going altogether - I basically told myself I had too little time, but the truth is there were too many worldly distractions and I am just a flawed human who feels unworthy some days. My new husband had been raised staunch Catholic by his step mom and his other mom was a confusing Pentecostal. Neither of us was too convinced that any one church would suit both of us as the religiously evolved (or damaged, lol) adults that we were. Bottom-line? We both find this church refreshing and comfortable and, personally, I am just so thrilled to be back attending a church (where I belong). Stay tuned :)
