This, I believe, would have protected them for the negative values in our culture, especially the ones adolescents have to cope with. I have found good people, made close friends, and found a Church home. In addition our present staff could not be better. The administrator, our building and grounds manager, our pastoral care associates,our musical director and most importantly our minister are outstanding. Follen was always a place for me to have a community of adults and kids older and younger than me that I wasn't related to. I have heard the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" and Follen was my village. I'm not sure I see myself going to church ever again in my life, attending services or that sort of thing, but I'm sure in the hypothetical someday when I have kids, I want them to have access to this type of community. There were so many ways to interact outside of the religious aspect - especially the youth group I was in in high school, and the choir, and the well-done sexual education program. And the religious aspect wasn't overbearing by any means - we're UU for crying out loud. I still remember my favorite sermon I ever heard - it was titled, "it's not okay to say you can't play" which was about children, and adults, learning how to include people. Things like that always leave their mark and I carry it with me in my life. So I don't know who will read this review, but if you're looking for a church where people are fun and just looking for other people like them who really care, about everything, then I wholeheartedly recommend it.

We are truly blessed to have them shepherd us. This holy week marks our 100th consecutive outdoor Sunday Mass. We never missed a beat during the pandemic. No matter what the weather, our outdoor Mass was a "full house", held in the church parking lot, with a fantastic outdoor speaker system, full music, and parking space social distancing. Led in attendance by Jesus Christ, parishioners were served by the full parish clergy; Pastor- Fr. DiPerri, Fr. Pham, and our wonderful Deacons. (no one got to dodge the weather) VOLUNTEERS TAKE A BOW!!! All year long our souls are catered to in the most touching, spiritual way. We are blessed.

While it started out as a church for Chinese immigrants, it welcomes people of all ethnicities and backgrounds. On Sundays, there is a Mandarin-speaking service followed by an English service. For families, CBCGB offers a robust children's program ranging from daycare to 12th grade. College students and young adults will also find their home in one of the church's many fellowship groups. Although the church may be a little out of the way for those living in Boston, I can assure you that it would be worth the visit-- for the people, the biblical teachings, and (for first time visitors) free lunch on Sunday!!
