(JN 13:16) Ever get that feeling that you have been somewhere before. Your trying to survive, so these memories from the past are coming back now. More than twenty years ago, close to almost thirty this particular church was a special place to me. All these memories, the classes for getting ready to spend your life with someone all happened here. Life is full circle. Right now that circle is turning and bringing me back to a place that maybe I tried to forget. My work schedule takes me all over. How is it by chance I'm standing here in front of the alter? How I remember this place like it happened earlier in the day? Let's take a trip back to my teenage years, my husband proposed to me and made it known we are going to marry. Now you have to meet his family. I was told that his grandmother was not going to approve of her only grandson even getting married. My husband had a strong bond with his grandma, and was devastated the day that God called her home. It broke a piece of his heart over her loss. Getting to the good happy memories, I went with my new grandmother every Sunday and Wednesday. We would sit, sing, pray and go to Catholic classes. I will never forget this one Sunday, the church was always at full capacity when I visited; I got to carry the gifts down the aisle. Usually this was only allowed by the members of this church. I believe that grandma put in a little word for me so to make me feel special. Even when I walked through the halls of this church, after being gone so many decades all the love is still here. Those blessings from the Lord flood my psyche. It's overwhelming at times this is why I moved these particular memories to be stored for future days. My husband was named after the Patron Saint of Travel St. Christopher: "Dear St Christopher: Protect me today in all my travels along the roads way. Give your warning sign if danger is near so that I May stop while the path is clear. Be at my window and direct me through when the vision blurs from out of the blue. Carry me safely to my destined place, like you carried Christ in your close embrace." Amen Sparkles and shine fade, but the spirit of the Lord still lives and exists here. Explore your soul and reevaluate what's happening in your life. A little chat with the man upstairs can put one at ease. Need that ear come and sit quietly, you will get an answer. If you listen. This particular church at its height was a great beacon to all those that lived in this premier area of the Biltmore area of Phoenix. I cannot speak to much of the area any longer. Much of what made this area special does not exist here anymore. Progress and building up and up and up. Let's make condos here, with roof tops to the heights of the sky. While your building up and up don't forget that you can fall down. When you need to get picked up joy can be found here. The staff has attended so much to keeping the church perfect. The strength is in the numbers. It takes a village to make it work. Many of the daily tasks that are performed here at the church are done on a volunteer basis. Love and light are the way. Find and seek the light, at anytime HE may call and work through you. Be ready then pass the blessings on. Amen. Let his light guide you and bless you ALWAYS!

While I am not of the Christian faith, what is familiar to me is going to Catholic churches since I was a kid especially during the holidays. It is usually for a holiday concert and even now as an adult, I almost feel like its part of my own tradition to go and listen to a holiday concert at a church. It feels me with warmth and time to slow down and reflect. And in many ways, its very sacred to me to be able to do this. I almost thought that this year I wouldn't get to experience a holiday church concert so when my friend asked me to come, I was beyond elated. I dont know that I know how to explain here that although I am not Christian, how important holiday music and church concerts are to me. There is some where inside my heart where there is an opening for Christianity. It complicated but some of my family members are Christian. In any case, the main church area was nicely decorated for the holidays and while its an older church, the acoustic worked well. Lots of pews available and I noted tinted glass too. The Gregorian chant music group, Floriani, was phenomenal and their singing was very moving. And very powerful. It is well worth a listen and has a calming and grounding effect. Parking lot worked out OK and this church is in a convenient part of town. Id come back again especially if there is concert.

We always walk away and feel that our souls have been nouished. Due to surgical complications and the loss of a job one of the pastor's contacted us to see how we were doing. We told them fine due to our own pride but we literally didn't have the money to purchase milk and cereral for our kids. We were shocked when the church provided funds to help us through a very difficult situation, even though we hadn't asked for help. The church was literally the hands and feet of Jesus in ministering to our family and we've never forgotten that generosity. On the 5th Sunday of the month the church takes a special collection to help members enduring hardships and thankfully, we've been blessed to give back to help others.

The Sanctuary is beautiful; the architectural design allows a ton of natural sunlight to pour down on the altar. Gorgeous! The Light of Christ! I attended Saturday Vigil Mass on 7 March 2020 AD. Father Pawel Stawarczyk, the parish Pastor, said Mass and gave a powerful homily (sermon), on the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. It never dawned on me prior to his homily, that only 3 of the 12 chosen Apostles saw Jesus Christ in all of His Heavenly Glory during His Transfiguration!!! (Matthew 17:1-13). Fr. Pawel pointed out that the ratio chosen to see Christ's glory was 1 in 4 Apostles. That means that only 1 in 4 Christians may have such an intense witness of Christ; the rest may only have Him in their heart and head. Wow! I'll use this in Evangelization talks from here on out! It is +VERY+ important to know as much as you can about the faith! That includes the HISTORY of the faith! Learning the history of the Christian faith makes it "real" to each of us! My walk with Jesus Christ has been about 50% intellectual, with the rest being filled with personal experiences. Thankfully, I've been blessed with the gift of faith and the power of personal witness. I pray daily for others to have such a gift; it makes it easier to believe and sacrifice! I may visit this parish again soon as I'm still looking for a, "home parish" near my new home. I hereby award a solid 5 stars for the people and the worship I witnessed on my visit!
