I was very impressed by her questions and could tell I was, literally, in good hands. The massage was great. Per our discussion I was prepared that certain moments would feel uncomfortable. However overall, the experience was extremely relaxing and so therapeutic. She really worked on the areas where my neck and shoulders meet and I walked out feeling like my head was floating above my body. Highly recommend!

I have been to this day spa twice in the past month; I had a gift certificate from Mother's Day…read morethat I have not gotten around to using so I literally walked in and got down to business. Todd was extremely friendly, helpful and went over the services in detail with me. My gift certificate consisted of a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. We decided to break it up and I had my appointments on two different Saturdays one following the other. Considering I have small children and I am a stay at home mom, that worked out best for me and I was happy that they were so accommodating. I went for my manicure and pedicure early on a Saturday morning and was greeted warmly; I had a couple of minutes to browse around the front shop which is absolutely adorable. They have everything from scented candles, jewelry, gifts, perfume, clothes, robes and lots and lots of fun make up! I was taken care of by Brittany and she was absolutely fabulous; very sweet and very talented. I loved my manicure and pedicure; it was nice and quiet and relaxing. I am very pleased to say that the polish on my fingernails lasted over two weeks (we used Chanel polish). I would absolutely see Brittany again. The following Saturday is when I had my facial and my massage. My massage was very nice and I hate the fact that I forgot both of my beauty technicians names, however if I do find out who they are, I will make an edit because they were both lovely. I really enjoyed my facial; we had nice light conversation and she was telling me everything that she was doing and how beneficial it was for my skin. I was so relaxed I honestly did not want that facial to ever end. I would have given my experience five stars however one thing that brought it down; there is no private place to sit and relax in between services. Yes, there is a small waiting room but it is right behind the main front shop and you can hear all the hustle and bustle. Having a small dimly lit room with maybe some comfortable chairs, some tea, coffee (champagne on the weekends), candies burning, soft music etc kind of like a hidden sanctuary. I'm sure there's probably not enough room for it however that's just something that I thought of because in between my massage and facial I was literally standing in the hallway in my robe waiting...for technicians to pass by, for my girl to be ready for me etc...it was a little awkward. Other than that it was a fantastic experience and I would absolutely go back and plan on it very soon.

What a way to end a reputable business. Not a Christian business as stated in a Green Street Baptist publication. Does anyone know how to contact the owners? They sold us an $1800 gift certificate and closed down without even contacting us. My sister who purchased the certificate spoke with them many times trying to plan the perfect birthday for me and my sisters. We are all senior citizens and this is a lot of money to lose. We had to cancel our March appointment because of coronavirus and had hoped to reschedule. We are sorry that coronavirus made it difficult for them to stay in business but we are surprised and disappointed that a business who was so reputable for so many years would do this this. They knew how to contact us and did not. They didn't go bankrupt. They just closed down and the two are very different. Shame on the Todd Poovey the owner of About Face Day Spa!

Finally booked my first prenatal massage!…read more I'm 37 weeks into my second pregnancy and the sheer weight of my body has been causing me killer hip and lower back pains. After seeing a chiropractor, bouncing on massage balls, sleeping with a maternity pillow, and doing stretches, I finally decided to try. I'm so glad I did too. Todd was extremely professional. Not sure what to expect, he made it very easy from the moment I scheduled to the moment I arrived. The booking was easy to do online and very straightforward. He also followed up via text message to make sure checking in would be flawless ahead of my arrival. Once there, I walked into a cozy room prepared especially for me, with pillows I could lay on my side with. Fortunately, prenatal massages are Todd's fave kind of massages to do. He explained to me the process, worked with my comfort level and did his best to ensure that I was okay throughout the whole process. I typically love pinpoint, deep tissue, and hard massages, but being pregnant, there are obvious limitations. Todd was great about explaining all that and I still was able to find relief. Especially for my hips and shoulders where his technique and experience really shined through. Warm damp towels were provided to finish up my session and I was on my way to wrap up work to end the week! I'm excited to come back potentially for one more session. Interested to see how he would do for pinpoint pressure after I give birth too!

You will need to make your appointment online and if you have to cancell there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Otherwise you will lose what you paid upfront for the appointment. I did arrive early so there was available street parking. I would give yourself time to find parking and walk if needed. Walking in, the space appeared to be clean and welcoming. There is also a juice bar in the front which very much compliments the health and wellness space. For my visit I decided to do the Float tank and not the Float pod. These tanks are filled will approx. 1000 pounds of Epsom salt (give or take) and would be similar to floating in the dead sea. The float tank and pod is completely soundproof and you have the option of complete darkness and quiet or soft dim lighting and gentle music. I found it a bit challenging for myself to be still for 60 minutes, I constantly wanted to change the lighting and volume of music and at one point I cut the lights all the way off and I can admit freaked just a little bit. (Haha). But I floated myself safely back to the light by the door opening, by way of my hands, and was able to open the door and turn the light back on. Whewww. It's just you and your thoughts which makes for a very unique experience that really shows how hard it can be to truly be still. The rooms provide a shower, body soap, shampoo and conditioner. You will want to shower before and after you use the tank. There are also private dressing areas where you can blow dry your hair and get ready if needed. (for float tank users only I do believe) Sonder Mind and body also has a Sauna and different variations of massage therapy to take advantage of. I do wish that their website had some more information. I also would like to see more packages. The only ones I could see were Float and Sauna or Float and massage. There is also an option for a membership which provides a bit of savings but if you want 1 float and 1 sauna a month it's $100. Would I do this again, maybe as a special treat. But to me I would much prefer a facial or massage. I am happy I tried it though! Anywho, I really encourage anyone that has ever wanted to try a float tank to at least try it once! Just treat yourself and go do it Ciao for now.
