Every time he goes in for a checkup and cleaning, there seems to be an issue with the secondary insurance (mine). Even when I go in for my own cleaning, we somehow run into the same issue with his insurance being listed as my secondary. This time was no different. The dentist apparently refused to proceed with my husband's cleaning because my insurance wouldn't cover the remaining portion. My husband told them to simply proceed with a basic cleaning since his primary insurance would cover that, and he just wanted to get his teeth cleaned. We were then told they couldn't proceed because doing so would be considered "malpractice." I honestly don't understand how a basic cleaning that his insurance covers could be refused for that reason. At this point, it's extremely frustrating. A routine cleaning should not turn into a constant insurance issue, especially when the patient is willing to proceed with the services his insurance does cover. Now he has once again left without getting his teeth cleaned, which could potentially allow tartar buildup to get worse. We've had repeated issues with this office, and unfortunately, this experience has left us taking our services/ patient care elsewhere.
