I came here on multiple occasions this past week to purchase decorations and several flower…read morearrangements. While they have a nice selection of seasonal decor, the service (from a particular employee) was very rude. I had previously requested a particular arrangement but when I came in to pick up the arrangement it was completely different than what had been specified. Instead of neutral / white, it was all red roses. The florist I had originally spoken to was not in the store, and the florist that was there instead spoke to me as if it were my fault when I had given specific instructions. She did make a new arrangement which turned out to be quite lovely. Unfortunately, the arrangement died within a few days. We had meant for it to survive through the week (through 2 dinners we were hosting), so had to come back in to get a new arrangement. This being right before Christmas, the pickings were slim, so I chose whatever flowers I could find, and the same florist proceeded to make a bouquet. At some point, the florist stepped away and said I could rearrange one of the flowers. While doing this, one of the other florists - presumably the supervisor (or owner?) - called me out, and told me to step away from the bouquet, that it was a Covid risk (even though everyone was wearing masks), and how it was "unfair" to everyone on the team. Even after I immediately stepped away from my bouquet, she continued to berate me so that everyone in the store could hear. I felt extremely uncomfortable and did not say anything in return. While I was paying, I heard the supervisor complaining at length about me to the florist, and tell her that she had to have a "conversation" with me. Moments later, the florist brings the bouquets to the checkout register and proceeds to give a speech about how in the future I need to let the florists do what they want and that if I want to pick my own flowers then I should just buy the flowers and make the bouquet myself at home. She says all of this (and more) very loudly so that everyone in the store can hear. Presumably, she is saying this so that the supervisor / owner who put her up to this can hear her. After the speech she walks away, and no one offers to help carry the bouquets. On my way out, I could clearly hear the supervisor talking about me to all of the other florists, and going on about how the florist had spent too much time on my order and that she can't be spending much time on individual customer orders. (It seems like they don't think much about someone spending $500 at their store in a week....) (Also, maybe wait a few minutes until after the customer is gone before trash talking them?) The whole experience came off as mean-spirited and not the type of customer service one would expect from a nice boutique. While I want to write this off as someone having a bad day, the fact that the supervisor was the one inciting all the negative comments makes me thing the service issue is more pervasive. Edit: Upon reviewing the receipt, it looks like they included a $35 "open design" fee. While I would have had no issue with this charge (especially if told upfront), I'm really baffled that the supervisor would complain that the florist spent too much time on my arrangement if they are charging for the time anyway! And it's not like the whole thing took more than 10 minutes of the florist's time.

Trillium supplies the best floral delivery and design services I've ever experienced. I am very picky, but every time Wally and Booker and Angie make something marvelous happen. not many florists these days use as many greens or textural accents as they could, and the team at Trillium uses these and other design elements to make their flowers truly stand out in the room. Furthermore, they do NOT sell you anything that isn't as fresh as possible, nor frozen. They will help you design something that will be spectacular, and it will not fade in a day. If they feel a flower you would like would not do justice to your arrangement, they'll consult with you rather than just over-ride your ideas with their concepts. Bottom line: they care about quality, your happiness, and representing themselves as a fair-priced community business. read more

I was fortunate enough to work with Wally for a wedding this past September in the Philly area. I would have to say that he was definitely one of the highlights of the whole wedding planning process. His creativity, sensitivity and ability to work with a VARIETY of people made it a most memorable experience. He was always conscience of staying within our budget, while also being aware of the surroundings that he was designing for. The quality of his flowers, the design and his awareness of the environment that he was decorating for couldn't have been better! read more
