I worked in aircraft simulation for many years, so I was familiar with the pre-flight procedures the pilot went through before the flight. We flew over downtown Annapolis and the bay near the Naval Academy. I was able to handle the controls for maybe about ten minutes. The scenery was fantastic from about 1500 feet up. It was just like being back in the simulators years ago. I don't know If I will get a pilot's license, but I would definitely go through them if I did. The instructors are very knowledgeable and professional. Excellent job. No complaints.

The quality and detail involved in the instruction here is superb - you feel like you're being given all of the information you need, from the basics to more complex properties of the helicopters. There was no point where I felt like the information was overwhelming or over-simplified: it seemed like the right mix of education and beginner's instruction. As for the flight, it's a blast! While I was far from talented at piloting the helicopter, I was given quite a lot of control over time, and I felt increasingly comfortable as time went on. I felt safe and monitored the entire time - even when a lot of wind blew the helicopter around, the instructor was available to make things right quickly and effortlessly. Needless to say, if you have the time and the money, give this place a shot!

He was very personable and knowledgeable. He pointed out various landmarks and places that we would be interested in seeing. He took the time to explain everything and throughly check the vehicle, it made us feel very safe and comfortable. Seth answered all questions, and even cracked a few jokes. I would definitely recommend them for celebrating a special occasion or just a romantic date. Make sure to ask for Seth by name you won't be disappointed!

They are one of the reasons that I continue to give Trident Aircraft my business. Once I arrived to the office for my lesson, I was greeted by whomever saw me walk through the door. The instructors carry themselves in a highly professional manner and there are obviously knowledgeable over the subject matter which they teach. After a quick and thorough briefing, you're wheels up and on your way! I am quite impressed with how the flight school operates and although they are small compared to some others.. they make up for it with the wonderful services they offer to the aviation world. This winter was pretty rough and the flight experience had to be rescheduled several times due to rain, snow, ice, etc....Marylanders, IYKYK! Brett Aviation was very flexible with the rescheduling and we had no issues using the Groupon. We were over the weight limit, but Brett still offered to accommodating us by splitting the flights up into two shorter flights. Since it was a birthday gift, I stayed while my partner went on the flight with Colby. The simple fact that they even offered to do this speaks volumes about the business and was a greatly appreciated gesture. My first suggestion is to definitely check the weight limit before booking, especially if both of you plan on going up in the plane. Also, do not forget your license. The aviation school is inside of a secure gated area and you will not be admitted into the gate without your license. There's a place (FBO building) where you can watch take off if others came with you or if one of you choose to stay. Nothing fancy but it's a gated area with benches. You can watch other planes take off and land as well. You can also sit inside where the FBO office is. Even though I didn't go on the flight this time, this was a fantastic experience! The Groupon was easy to use, the staff was friendly, and I heard the views were absolutely amazing. I booked it at 5:00, so it would coincide with sunset. Highly recommend for couples. I was under the impression that there would be 30 minutes of ground instruction followed by 30 minutes in the air. However, when I arrived, no one was at the reception desk (the receptionist might have been out for lunch). I tried calling, but no one answered. After about 10-15 minutes, the receptionist returned and checked me in. I waited for an additional 15 minutes before being directed to wait in the museum until the pilot instructor was ready. Eventually, the instructor, who was finishing some paperwork, asked if I had a car and could follow her to the airplane hangar. Once there, she performed a quick inspection of the aircraft, and we got ready to fly. The flight itself felt shorter than expected, and I only had control of the airplane for 2-3 minutes. While the experience was fun, I was hoping for more hands-on time. I would consider trying it again with a different instructor to see if that makes a difference. For comparison, a similar experience I had two weeks later at a different location provided more detailed ground instruction, and I was allowed to take control for most of the flight.

My friend and I came here and we filled out all our consent forms and gave them the Groupon code. Then they took us to the back and explained everything to us. In the plane, you basically sit shotgun while the experienced professional flies the plane into the air to a safe altitude and then they give you control. Flying the actual plane was such an amazing experience. It felt scarier than skydiving to me. The instructor let's you fly for about 20-30 minutes and then he takes you down to the location. He also lands the plane. It apparently gets added to your flight hours if you were planning on becoming licensed. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I high encourage you try. I don't regret it in the slightest and the staff here make you feel safe.
