    Lanes and balls

This is not a place I will return. Many other options in the area for bowling and family fun. This is what is listed on their website: "Triad Lanes is a bowling center with activities geared towards the entire family. Our staff is here to assist you from the moment you walk through our doors ...". We had to wait 45 minutes for a lane. Per the staff this was due to lanes 1-36 being held for a bowling league. There are 40 lanes in total. So family bowling is wait listed. The pool table was out of order. There needs to be some renovations to compare to some of the other local entertainment establishments.

Very dirty, poorly run establishment. Lane, and equipment are poorly maintained. Management could care less.

The prize redemption prices are astronomical which is a massive disappointment to any kids you've brought who may think that they can get a $0.50 prize after their parents spent $75 in game time for them - and they find that they only have 1/4 of the points needed for the cheapest things. Gaming prices also feel considerably higher than other options in town but with that said, they have the biggest selection of newer games in town so that's a trade off that I can understand. The food appears fine but I haven't had a chance to eat here yet so I can't rate it. The bar service is annoying - despite having a full bar you have to order at a counter - when the bar is open. I understand they probably have issues at this location and I'm sympathetic but I would love to see more of a proper food and bar experience be available during common hours. This place isn't Dave and Busters by any stretch and the way food and drink is handled is where that comparison really hurts Round1. I would come here far more often if they had a better experience in this part of their offering, despite the gaming prices being higher than other options. The staff do seem generally friendly every time we visit though, so that's a big plus.

The bar is full service but food is counter service only, but the selection looks unique. The line was long and our time was short, so we didn't order food this time. Coming from Charlotte, you do not always get the best service at bowling alleys, so I was really impressed. We had a pretty big group of boys from 6th-9th grade along with parents and coaches, and the staff was so positive, patient, and helpful with everything we needed. They made the whole experience easy and enjoyable for our group.

There was a special for $11.50 unlimited bowling until they closed at midnight. Shoe rental included. We were put on lane one. The instructions on the screen doesn't match the buttons on the machine. It's outdated, honestly. We figured it out and got it set up and started bowling. We were hungry and decided to get food. We went to get food at 9:50pm ish. Jane was snack bar staff. She stated that she's was supposed to leave at 10pm. She added that the oven was off, so that took away pizza, cheesy dippers, and pretzels. 8 wings come with the classic wings and 5 tenders are in the regular chicken tenders order. I ended up getting Alley sampler which comes with 5 moz stick, 5 wings, 3 tenders, 9oz fries and 5 cheesy dippers. I also got beverage called Berried Alive Lemonade (alcoholic). The total for it all was $38. My food came around 10:15pm. It was hot and fresh. At 10:23pm, I heard final order announcement for food/drinks. At 10:34pm, my friends food arrived. He said it was hot. He was supposed to have garlic parm fries with his chicken tenders and they were regular. They tried to give it on the side but friend said it wasn't good. I checked on my drink at 10:36ish and was told that someone else was making it. My friend and I went back around 10:44pm to check on drinks. My friend got a blue Long Island and it was sitting there since the last time we check about 10 minutes ago but no one said anything. There was another drink sitting which was supposed to be mine but apparently someone else took my drink. What was there was a mai tai. The staff began making my drink around 10:46pm and she brought it to me about 2 minutes later. It was tasty. Overall, bowling itself was fine. We had no issues with the lane. The biggest downfall was the wait for food and drinks. There was only one staff in the kitchen. Another lady, who i assumed was a manager didn't help until later on. This bowling alley is definitely not the best in Greensboro. I would say possibly better than Triad Lanes but Spare Time is definitely the best. There is Bourbon Bowl downtown but it's expensive and I haven't been yet. This would be a good spot if you want a chill and not so busy atmosphere. They can get busy though. Personally, this wouldn't be my first choice. I had planned to drink and bowl and it took almost an entire hour just to get my drink. Then there was no time to get another one.

It hasn't changed much in over 15 years. Not that it bothers me personally, but you can tell it's not nearly as flashy as a new bowling alley. -1 star because this place is not in the countryside. Only kidding. :) However, the lady who works on Friday night was not very nice. She was a drink police. With just me and my husband renting a lane, we felt like we were micromanaged. We were asked to take our water bottle to the car. She wouldn't even let us empty it out and fill it with their water. Thankfully, the grill gave us a free water. However, within our lane beside the chairs, there is a spot for three drinks to be held - where our drinks were sitting. The worker came and told me that my drink, if not in my hand, had to be sitting on the back wall. I'm sorry but I do not like to have my back turned to my drink. I don't feel comfortable with the idea of someone touching my drink, taking it, or possibly putting something bad in it. I followed her rules and took it to the back wall when I was up to bowl. However, one time I had a child leaning up next to my drink and putting their shoes on the table beside my drink. I was just not a fan of this rule. But they own the place so they get to make the rules - just be aware of this. I told a friend about this incidence and she said she has never had a problem with being told to move her drinks out of the cup holder. Who knows?

I was disappointed when I joined their mailing club to get a coupon and then the coupon said it could only be used if printed. The whole point of mobile/emailed coupons is convenience. I didn't have time to find a printer, so I ended up paying full price. It was $4 per person for each game and $4 for shoe rental. This seemed like a lot for a weekday afternoon, so we only decided to play one game. I was pleased to discover that they sold a socks, which I desperately needed. The bowling balls seemed older and heavily used. We were assigned to a lane right next to a large party, when there were numerous other lanes opened. In spite of all this, we made the best of it and had fun. When we were done with our game, we were ready to get out of there. The attendant was MIA, so we left our shoes and peaced out. Located on the south side of High Point, High Point Bowling Center has been around for as long as I…read morecan remember. Bill Cornell and partners assumed ownership from Michael Amos in 2010. I remember coming here in middle school in the mid-90s. There used to be cigarette vending machines at this bowling alley (not anymore). I ran into one of my schoolmates one night and I watched as she casually inserted money and bought a pack of cigarettes, even banging on the machine loudly to get the pack to fall out. Our sixth grade social studies teacher was in a lane not far from us. Funny how that's the one thing I remember most about this place growing up. 20-some-odd years later, I returned to this bowling alley to meet up with some old friends. We met last week over the holidays. We originally were going to meet at Tar Heel Lanes (the old Brunswick) on North Main, but it appeared to have closed permanently. This is still very much an old school bowling alley with some enhancements here and there. The building hasn't changed from the outside. Purple High Point University flags now fly outside the main entrance. There's a spacious parking lot. There's a pro shop just inside the entrance followed by the lane and shoe rental counter, a pool and arcade room, and a bar and grill. There are 32 lanes total. The arcade room has a few pool tables and games such The Fast and the Furious arcade racing game (one of the screens appears to be blown out), skee ball, a jukebox, dance rhythm games, claw games, and more. The bar and grill is called Sidelines Sports Grill. The sports bar is quite spacious with many big, bright, and crisp TVs playing sports. I like the giant Coors Light / Wake Forest football and men's basketball graphic on the wall. I bought a Pepsi at the bar here for $1.99 ($1.86 + $0.13 tax), served in a Styrofoam cup. According to my receipt, the sports bar is open until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights with a DJ and karaoke after 9:30pm. Games of bowling are a good deal. Shoe rentals were $3. We paid $2.75 per person per game. Rates vary depending on day and time. I took a picture of the pricing which you can find here: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/high-point-bowling-center-high-point?select=F9XSGxG-jLRfPZcki7iBBw#F9XSGxG-jLRfPZcki7iBBw. $2 games and $2 shoes all day Sunday. $1 games and $1 shoes all day Monday except between 6-9pm. The communal bowling balls, rental shoes, and bowling lanes all seemed to be in adequate condition. Widescreen displays above our lane kept track of scoring. There was a keyboard stand in front of the bowling ball return which we could use to edit our names and scores if needed. Plenty of seating is available at each lane consisting of both four and six-top tables along with bar-height four-tops. The carpet reminds me of a 1990s kids party: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/high-point-bowling-center-high-point?select=F9XSGxG-jLRfPZcki7iBBw#B7V5S6b2nYnU6m10uS_x7Q. Service was A-OK. The lockers and restrooms are located on a far end of the bowling alley across from lane 32.
