The good is that the ER staff showed caring and compassion. The hospital needs to have better signs…read moreshowing where the customers are and where the entrances to the outsides are.

I was taken to unity point health st. Luke's ER on 12/8/25 after a bad sledding accident.. right…read moreleg was all broken up. The ER staff was very good. But then they sent me to xray. I had a shattered femur, tibia, and broken fibula. The pain was unbearable, even after every pain med they could give.. there was a group in X-ray waiting for me. One young girl was merciless!! she kept trying to manipulate my shattered leg and I kept screaming STOP! she just kept repeating; 'don't hit me'. now if you keep having to tell a patient not to hit, maybe you should rethink your actions. And for the record, I never, ever, even attempted to hit anyone, I just put up my hands and screamed 'STOP!. I am a 62 year old female and totally helpless at this point..One of the x-rays even contained her entire hand trying to bend my ankle! Should the tech be IN the X-ray?? Once I got out of surgery and admitted into a room, it like a sauna.. 4th floor ortho... I lay in a pool of sweat for 5 days, no sleep, so uncomfortable and miserable, all they could do was give me a fan. the thermostat did not work! Never went below 75 degrees, and I am a hot blooded person with my leg wrapped up like a cocoon! Three different people put in maintenance requests.. no one ever showed up. The nurses were nice, except for a helper named 'Heather', she needs to find a different occupation. And the chest pain I kept complaining about that was supposed to have a CT scan was never really addressed, just lidocaine patch and NSAID lotion. When I got out I told my GP I wanted a CT and it finally got ordered.. fractured sternum!
