I typically do not just hand out 5 star reviews but I cannot short Blooming Barn of any credit. They did fantastic for my Mother's day selection! I called on Thursday the 11th of May and spoke with the nicest lady I have encountered as far as my customer service career in Maine. I'm so saddened that I did not catch her name but she was so welcoming just via phone call. From beginning to end she carried a pleasant tone, was extremely patient with me as I called from work and informed me of all my possible options which is what I consider above and beyond in any type of customer service. I wanted a floral arrangement to represent me and my three other siblings and she was more than willing to communicate different ideas with me and even let me suggest a price point preferred. I explained to her how I live in Hawai'i and she understood the 6 hour time difference and did not rush me to decide. She let me know that they do same day delivery so if worst case scenario happened I would not have to worry. She also pointed out that they DO in fact have a website and I could also order delivery from in case I was unable to reach them in time. I received my order confirmation right away and the price was absolutely reasonable for the beautiful arrangement my mother received that following Saturday. I am so pleased and would highly recommend this florist for anyone with family living in Maine for any type of occasion. The woman who runs the store is Diana and she is amazing. She has the most unique items in her store from all over Maine and beyond. Lots of antiques and neat stuff for almost any room in your house. Make sure to inquire about the letter press she owns. She showed me pictures of the Gutenberg letter press she uses to make the beautiful cards and prints. Her skill is unmatched and eye for detail is unmatched OH... she bakes all kinds of yummy treats. My personal favorite is the ginger cookies..and the bread. She makes the best tasting organic items you'll ever find. If you are having a party she also says she does some catering events. She also has rail bikes for rent! You'll get to pedal bikes that run along the rail road tracks and it's a blast..and a work out. Kip is a great guy who works there and loves to chat and will help ya with the bikes. It is such a great way to see Maine. She said she has a facebook page but She's working on a webpage. I live in Colorado and visiting Maine is wonderful. The woman running this place has wonderful taste, a light hand with the pricing, and a talent for letterpress printing: she makes all kind of clever cards, including page-markers for cookbooks (now why didn't I think of that?) She sells some locally-made food products, but mostly she sells things I would buy if I had an inch of extra room: a heavy, elegant hand-crocheted tablecloth with deep fringe ($18.00), handsome pitchers from local potters (ok, I bought the one with the rabbits) and funny old toys and gadgets. I also passed up a child's quilt embroidered with nursery rhyme characters. if you need it, it's still there. This is AFTER you've visited Bryant's Stove Museum and BEFORE you've eaten at the CrossTrax Cafe in nearby Unity. You've got yourself the agenda for a marvelous day.

When we were there, one of the rooms and the barn had a 20% off sale, so perhaps they usually have specials of some sort going on. There is everything from trading cards and books to decor and furniture, so it is at least a nice outing on a winter day. It is on Stetson Road, aka Rte. 222 for us when we take that route to Bangor. It is on the corner where the three roads merge near the gazebo and the ATV trail crossing. It is not very accessible. My wife had to leave her walker a couple of times to check out vendor stalls, so I can't imagine a wheelchair getting very far.

They have a wonderful of fun candy that you might remember from past decades, they have wonderful truffles. Bulk candy, like Jelly belly and seasonal candy offerings as well. This is one of the few places I can find Butter Rum LifeSavers for my friend. This candy store isn't too big or too small. There a ton of variety for everyone AND they are great at managing stock - I have never found an expired product there. The staff is welcoming. I have always been greeted when walking in. During the Halloween on Main St celebration each year, they have one of the best trick-or-treat spots! I enjoy visiting and shopping here whenever I'm in the area.
