Whether it's Christmas time (the best) or any other time of year and I need a tree, the OMalley Family Farm is our favorite must visit place. Not only is the farm family run (by a spectacular multigenerational family I might add), but it's filled with all the magic and mystery of the season in the best ways possible. I can't imagine the stress of running a seasonal operation, one where people only consider the here and now and don't recognize the YEAR LONG process that organizing, setting up, planning, creating takes but the O'Malleys do it flawlessly and every year surprise and delight us beyond compare. We love kicking off the holiday season with a trip to the farm to pick up a Christmas tree but more than that, we love the festive and unique experience they offer for us and our three little kids. Let's start with the FREE inclusions...big bonfires, pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and popcorn, shots of Jameson for the moms and dads just trying to stay warm this and every holiday season, funny and cute little holiday headbands (which are such a hit with the littles), holiday photo ops, and the scavenger hunt hayride, which is a family favorite. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and even though it was busy there was ample parking to accommodate everyone. We checked in with a friendly service team member and they gave us the low down of all of the fun activity going on at the farm. Trees for Less truly makes getting your tree a fun holiday experience, perfect for adults and kids. A few festive activities going on include, tractor rides though the farm (I believe driven by Santa himself), a bonfire with seating and complimentary hot cocoa, head bands for photo opps as well as free snacks for the kids (PLUS Jamison shots for the adults, YES please). The tree selection is awesome (we got a Frasier Fir) and there are a bunch of measuring sticks around which we found super helpful. When you find a tree you like, you just pull off the little tag, find a service person (easy) and the team does a fresh cut, bags your tree and BEST PART walks your tree to your car and ties it on for you. Couldn't have been a better experience. Everyone that worked there was friendly beyond comprehension & made it a great trip for my 2 year old, my wife & myself. Every other family there was also ear to ear smiles. Trees were beautiful, & we walked away with a bigger one than expected because the great staff made it so effortless. Hayride was an added bonus. Son liked the free hot cocoa & he's never even liked anything chocolate in his life. They even had some treats for the adults. Sam and his dad were great! I ventured out on the day after we had a bunch of rain and Sam had his dad meet me at the office to discuss trees. Their pricing was exactly as listed online. Sam was very thorough and communicated very effectively. They were even able to schedule delivery and planting earlier than originally discussed. I highly recommend them! We had a great experience buying our 2019 Christmas tree at Trees for Less. We had hoped to cut down our own tree - but the selection of "you cut" trees was a little dismal, due to the weather this past year. Luckily, we found a great pre-cut tree that is still thriving. The staff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful. After our tree got loaded up - we had some hot chocolate (and the bonus shot of Jameson) was delicious! This is in regards to the Grafton location, not the Mequon location. The tree selection was great. More than enough to choose from, pretty much any size you needed, they had. The customer service was poor. After we cut down out tree, we took it to the end of the row to have it picked up, just in time for the empty wagon to drive by, so I ended up hauling the tree to the wrapping area. Also, my in-laws had a coupon for $5 off and they would not allow us to use it. The Mequon location had always accepted them verbally or allowed more than one person to use it. Very poor customer service and lack of common sense, especially when you are spending $50+ on a real tree. May have second thoughts going back next year. read more

Do not let them plant your trees! They sell a decent selection and I was happy buying from them over the years, however I opted to have them plant our last, very large evergreen. They planted the tree too deeply, so I contacted the owner. He agreed, it was planted too deeply however told me the tree looked healthy and that there was nothing they would do. I talked about the "warranty", however again he stated it looked healthy and I should prune the bottom and clear away dirt. Again I went back because I have been told it does make the plant more susceptible to secondary, longer term issues. Any number of things can occur in the years to come including: slower growth rate, weakened root system, stem girdling, root rot, cracking of bark, etc.. He told me to clean it again....Yikes. That was the last tree I bought from them, I found my next nursery. read more

Great experience with Trees for Less! Recently bought our house and quickly realized we needed some privacy from neighbors. We really had no idea where to start and the owner walked us through what arborvites to get and how many we needed. We are on a budget so we drove to pick them up and planted ourselves. We visited today to purchase a Christmas tree. The staff was absolutely excellent. As soon as we picked the tree, they wrapped it and strapped it to the top of the car. Also included was hot chocolate and a wonderful camp fire to warm up on the cold day. Could not recommend higher from a first time visitor. We will be back next year. I have purchased approximately 10 7-9 foot pines and arborvitae from this company and I had them plant them. Of course any installer requires some supervision to place something like a tree in exactly the position and depth that the homeowner wants (in contrast to the above review). One of the trees started to die a few months later, and they replaced it, at no charge, after only my first call. I therefore found them to sell a good product, to do a good install, and they honored their warranty. I am purchasing from them again this spring. read more
