I can not speak highly enough about Habitots Preschool and Child care center in Middle Island. The…read morestaff is highly professional and creates a comfortable, nurturing and educational environment for every child and their family. From the moment I walked into the center to register my child, I felt a part of the family. All the staff knows my child by name, greets her with a smile and always makes sure she has everything she needs. The teachers are knowledgeable and current on all of New York State's requirements. I am always kept up to date on my child's daily progress. My child is always happy to come to school and that makes me happy.

Lack of Structure and Unprofessional Staff…read more I would not recommend this daycare. There was very little structure or planning throughout the day, which created a chaotic environment for the children. Rather than focusing on improving the classroom environment, staff suggested that my child might have a diagnosis, even though they are not qualified to make medical or developmental assessments. I found this inappropriate and concerning. If staff have developmental concerns, they should communicate specific observations respectfully and encourage parents to speak with their child's pediatrician--not suggest diagnoses. I expected a supportive, well-organized, and professional environment, but that was not my experience.

It's in her home but in a separate part, as an apt would be in a house. There are so many toys, and lots of outdoor water play during the hot summer days. I was unsure of using an in-home childcare before I signed my daughter up here..( Especially considering her fees were so fair). The saying, "you get what u pay for", couldn't be further from the truth at Mrs. Ann's, Home Away From Home. I was pleasantly surprised. She even has an adorable little dog (hypoallergenic) that the kids just LOVED! Very much a " home away from home". Your children will be loved, safe, and have lots of fun while even learning a little too here.

When my husband and I first met Chrissy, we felt at ease and at home in speaking with Chrissy. Both my husband and I are teachers so we asked a lot of questions and Chrissy took the time to answer all of them for us over a two hour time span. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about Chrissy. She is an absolute angel who has a heart full of love. Chrissy a mom herself and former teacher, truly understands how crazy life can get. She was willing to accommodate our early morning schedule to care for our daughter. My daughter absolutely adores Chrissy and her early morning love and patience. I am able to contact Chrissy and she responds within minutes to let me know how my daughters morning went. I would highly recommend Sunflowers Children's Academy, it has become a home away from home for my daughter. The staff employed at Sunflowers are all very caring, nurturing and treat their students as if they were their own children. Sunflowers Children's Academy is a warm, nurturing, safe and extremely clean learning environment.
