For one thing when you call nobody ever picks up. Then when we leave a message they rarely return your call , and if they do it is always a week or more later. State Farm also didn't notify me, or assign me a new agent. Lucier left my account a total mess and then to top everything off, I found out he had been charging me for a policy he had never sent to the underwriters. There's really no information that you can get out of the State Farm corporate offices, so if your agent stinks, like mine did, you're up poop creek!

I took the advice of the lizard on the TeeVee and spent 15 minutes comparing insurance…read morerates-actually it took more like three or four hours-and I confirmed what the State Insurance Auditor had to say-the Farmers Insurance Group/State Farm are the most economical insurance on the market by a wide margin. My late mother always used State Farm and never had a problem with a claim-unlike my experience with the deceptively named "Progressive" insurance corporation. During my research I spoke with a number of different Farmer's agents and found them all to be polite, friendly and very helpful-and prompt! Even though I was calling to buy insurance several of the other agents with the big TV names took hours to return my calls and all of them were high pressure tactic over-selling bottom feeders who gave me deceptive information about our mandatory minimum coverage limits. So, if you're insurance company advertises on late night TV you're most likely paying too much! I'm sure Montana isn't the only state where the Insurance Auditor has a comparison chart so I highly recommend checking it out BEFORE calling the little lizard.
