We had a lovely spacious room that overlooked a storybook pastoral view, complete with frolicking sheep. In the morning we were provided with one of the best breakfasts we have had at any facility. Breakfast, served amiably and with courtesy by Mr. Martin, allowed a choice from multiple options including a traditional Irish breakfast, porridge with Bailey's or Irish whiskey, and other options. The scones were first rate, and the selection of fresh fruit was one of the best I have seen anywhere - better than many of the finest hotels. Our hostess, Josephine, was most gracious and provided many useful details regarding the sites to see in the area, and navigation to them, as well as our next destinations. She recommended a walking tour of Derry that was of unusually good quality. All in all, I would have to agree that it is not an exaggeration to state that this is the best B&B in Ireland. The Martin family sets the standard for caring for the traveler. They evince a level of care and warmth that clearly transcends that of a mere business concern.

Shan, the owner, is friendly, offers great advice on local food and tourist attractions and will help you get your laundry sorted. The mussels were locally harvested so the6 were really fresh. A great deal! My wife had a vegan curry rice dish which was excellent as well. Forgot exactly how much it cost but it was good value as well. We were pleasantly surprised they actually had a vegan dish on the menu.

Setting: Very nice, spacious with bare stone walls and tea lights everywhere which was very cosy! We had intended only to have a starter or light snack but the bar was full (buzzing) and no available seating for our party of 4 so we tried the restaurant-It was a Sunday evening and we had the whole place to ourselves- I love it when this happens, it makes me feel like a celebrity! :) Food: Very difficult to please all four of us as we have such different tastes but this restaurant was fabulous. Lovely range of foods and extensive wine list catering for a wide variety of tastes- all well priced. (Two courses for 25€ ; three courses 29€) My main was salmon and hake - well cooked and flavorsome, sides came included (veg, potato and chips) Staff: Waiting staff were helpful but not intrusive. I'd have liked more help / recommendation with the wine choice.
