There are not enough positive words I could write to appropriately explain my experience with Travis Monuments, Inc. We are a family living in Florida, South Carolina and New Jersey, who lost our beloved husband and father in March 2024. Because he wanted to be buried in Nanuet, NY in the cemetery where his parents and grandparents are buried, our task several fold: Make arrangements with the Church/Cemetery; find a local Funeral Home to help with some of the arrangements, and find a company that could do the impossible by having our monument designed, produced and set in place BEFORE the burial took place. We knew we would rarely be able to visit the site once our loved one was buried. It was important to us to have the monument in place so we knew just what we wanted was there when we buried him. No words can explain how Floriana Goldstein guided us through quite a process, helped every step of the way and understood all of our unusual needs for our monument. On weekdays and weekends, she reached out to us with information or requesting the same from us to smooth the process. She is not only professional; she is kind and compassionate. Without her and her company, we would have been at a total loss. But with their expertise, long-standing experience and with Floriana as their representative, we have made it. Travis Monuments was recommended to me by a friend and I was very happy with their work. Charles worked with me on designing a custom made monument with detailed carvings. I chose them over another company I was talking to because I liked the feel of Charles' initial sketch he showed me. He also assisted me in choosing the right type of stone. We came up with a beautiful design which was completed by Rock of Ages in Vermont. The artist who carved my stone did a phenomenal job. I couldn't be happier with the work. All the people at Travis were very pleasant to deal with and always very respectful. Yes, it did take longer than I expected, it was a slow process, but in the end I was extremely satisfied with the result. I now have a beautiful piece of art that will stand for many years. I cannot say enough about Anthony and his team at Travis Monuments. It is never easy to lose a loved one. Having to pick out and design a monument while navigating through the heartache is difficult to say the least. Anthony's from Travis Monuments intention to give us his "personal" attention was evident from day one, when at his recommendation, he met us at the cemetery to personally walk around and explain the many options available when designing a monument. Seeing and touching the actual stones, lettering, etchings, carvings, etc as opposed to looking at catalogs, was an invaluable part of the process. He encouraged us to take our time with our choices. Once we were ready, he sat with us and tentatively listened to our ideas, made great suggestions and sketched our design. He was very upfront with explaining any time issues and costs associated with the different options. Anthony also made sure we understood that the same attention would be given to our monument regardless of any budget restraints we had. Anthony treated us throughout the process as if we were his only customer and as if our monument was the most important project they had. I recently visited my Dad's mausoleum in Oak Hill Cemetery, I can't believe how time passes, it's been 12 years since he lost his battle to cancer. To this day, his mausoleum still looks perfect. This company is unethical, sorry to say. No follow-up. No accountability. No proof shown before work started. Just runaround after runaround after runaround. Lie after lie after lie. Staff members who either knew or should have known better participated in the circus act. Still not over yet -- after months of delays. BTW, the 2 5-star reviews look incredibly fake to me. "Frequently exceeds...expectations." "Leadership team is completely in touch with the business." "Knowledgeable and eager to assist." Lol. No customer in their right mind writes like that. These reviews are bogus. Grave marker was supposed to have been installed by December 20, 2017 as promised. (They originally promised installation by end of September.) As of today (12/22/17), I have received no reply. A professional business would have followed up whether or not the work had been completed. If you are going to hire this awful company, then put down no more than 33%. I made the mistake of giving a deposit of 67%. The original estimate for materials, engraving, and installation was $1,200 to 1,300. Travis Monuments now says they want over $1,700. "If there was an error on our part or by some chance our client did not receive our message, we are truly sorry, and we're willing to make it right." The word "error" implies some minor mistake was made, instead of a series of mistakes. Lies are not errors, in the sense of being mistakes that are bound to occur sometimes. The sentence implies a willingness to own up to some unmentioned error. This company has never owned up to any lie that they've made. This company is incredibly unethical. I don't care about their phony concern for me or their apologies for their incompetent and unprofessional behavior. Their rep, Alan, lied the whole time -- over the course of a number of phone calls and emails. Is the "Alan" I've been dealing with the same as "Alan H" who left that fake 5-star review? That Travis's vice-president has answered this review by slathering on fake concern in his reply is typical of this company. It's also insulting. read more

Losing my mom was difficult enough but working with the Spring Valley team turned what I thought would be a long emotional and tedious process into a pleasure (thank you Angela!). We worked completely remotely developing the design, the wording, picking the stone and color and always so patient as I changed my mind multiple times! I ordered my husband's monument from Travis in 2010, and despite some delays, I was pleased with the 1-foot X 2-foot granite stone. So, when I needed the same-size monument for my son, I returned automatically to Travis. My son's stone had more text and also musical notes, so I expected it to be more than my husband's was 9 years ago. It was almost 3 times as much: $2196! Owner Charles Minozzi designed both stones and we did not protest the cost as we signed the new contract. Problems occurred when we were forced to deal with an employee we had not met named Allen. He disregarded Charles's design and used one type size. When we called his attention to the discrepancy, he said the design "is just a sketch." Yes, it is the sketch we approved. Allen told us a phrase was too long. When I called, I was fortunate to get Charles, who said the phrase would probably fit (it did). Charles is easier to work with, and I dreaded having to deal with Allen. There were numerous revisions, and about two-thirds of the way through, Allen told me he would only do two more proofs! This was an empty threat: The proofs are done outside, and more than two were needed to get the music's spacing, etc. correct. Another one of the owners helped get the final proof, which I signed on Dec. 5, 2018. Allen assured me he would do all he could to expedite the stone. When I called in Feb. 2019 to check, Allen told me no stones are set in Jan. and Feb. He forgot to mention this detail when assuring me he would expedite. The stone was put in place 10 months after our initial visit to Travis. I am sad to say that I will not return to Travis. Enough is enough. read more

Do not do business with this unethical company. One of Travis offerings porcelain pictures for headstones. The company also provided email assurance of a lifetime warranty against fading. The photo was installed in 2009 and started fading by 2014. When we reached out to Travis we were told that they would only replace the porcelain picture once - and never thereafter. This shows bad will on the part of the company and dishonest dealings. When we brought their email assurance of a lifetime warranty to the attention of company owners, they informed us that they would not do anything further for us. This is no way to do business - and a company such as this does not deserve to remain in business. read more

They were constantly late on their timing commitments and very poor in their customer service (never answered the phone at the office, and late on their responses to the numerous messages). My grandmother recently passed away and a friend of mine recommend I go speak with Charles or Anthony at Travis Monuments. Not really knowing how to handle the purchasing of a monument for my grandmother, I walked in with an open mind. As soon as I arrived I was shocked by the amount of possible options that existed and the amount of monuments they had on display. I walked in and asked to speak with Charles or Anthony. The woman at the front desk was really nice and offered me some coffee and cookies while I waited to speak with Charles or Anthony. A few minutes later Anthony welcomed me and asked me if I had a chance to look at some of the options. I told Anthony that I did but felt very overwhelmed. He turned to me and said not to worry we would find the perfect monument for my grandmother. Then I was really surprised to learn that Anthony wanted to hear about my grandmother. Her name, what she was like, what were her favorite hobbies. I really felt like Anthony wasn't just trying to sell me anything he had but really wanted to make sure that it was something my grandmother would want. We spoke for a little longer, and Anthony started to narrow down to just a few choices. I finally was able to make a decision and it didn't even seem overwhelming. Actually, it was inspirational. I felt as if I was finally doing something to honor my grandmother as I and everyone else knew her. I even asked Anthony if we could etch a NYC skyline on the monument, because my grandmother loved NYC. With a little exchange back and forth, we finally came to the perfect NYC skyline etching. Since it was the winter, I wanted to wait to have the monument installed in the summer. After it was installed it was absolutely breath taking. I could not believe how much this monument meant to myself and my family. To know that we have been able to create a monument with the the help of Anthony to be a long lasting tribute to my grandmother. Anthony even mentioned during the design process that I could have a small vase installed as well, because he knew my grandmother loved her lilacs. I am so glad Anthony suggested the vase. This past Spring I went to the cemetery to place some lilacs into the vase and I just wound up standing in front of the monument for at least an hour. Just feeling like my grandmother was so proud of what we created for her. Now, I know why my friend recommend Travis Monuments. I would never go anywhere else. The communication, design, installment, and most of all the care was by far the best experience I ever had. After the fact I would even tell some of my friends about my experience, and after hearing their horror stories, I know I went to the best place. Thank you Anthony! read more
