Great product and service for travelers in Spain. I had wonderful 4G reception in virtually all locations. This included Barcelona, Madrid and Tenerife. Picked up the mobile hotspot easily from the Barcelona Airport and dropped it off just as easily at a mailbox in the Madrid Airport. 6.99€ per day for unlimited internet bandwidth shareable amongst multiple devices is hard to beat. It definitely beats the $10 per day that my carrier charges. Seeing how connected we are these days and how dependent we are on our smartphones for directions, communication & reviews, picking up a mobile hotspot is a no-brainer. I had a great experience with Wifivox. read more
I will never...ever...ever travel without WiFi again. EVER. After my trip to Tokyo, I realized that constantly having a WiFi signal is crucial to the success of my vacations. So when we booked our trip to Barcelona I immediately looked for folks that offered a pocket WiFi. Wifivox seems to be the leader in the industry - and I can see why. It was about €48 euros for 5 days of unlimited internet. ALWAYS had a super strong signal, even when traveling on Metro - and went to Monserrat and Figueres and still had great signal. Used the WiFi to get directions (THIS IS THE BEST), search nearby for recommendations on Yelp (DUH), keep in contact with family, post photos to Facebook to make all my friends jealous (duh), browse the web on long train rides...and everything else you do when you are on WiFi. The top two - getting directions and searching Yelp - are SO crucial to having a good time on vacation - at least for me. On our last day in Spain we had a 24 hour connection in Madrid - with no portable WiFi. We made plans before we left the hotel WiFi and when we arrived to the restaurant it was packed with no tables. AH, no worries, I'll just check for another restaurant. Oh wait...I can't. We ended up at a great place by doing the old "Let me peek at the menu and see how packed the places is as a good sign they are legit", but it would of been great to search nearby. Direction were also tough. While Google maps is viewable, it's so much better to have it live and it's telling you the direction you are traveling in (as to avoid going the wrong way a few blocks, till you catch your mistake) or having it map the fastest/easiest route for you. The batteries lasted us a long time - and we were able to charge it on the go when we needed to. The device and charger are super lightweight and easy to carry around. The process of getting/returning the device is super easy. You rent it online and can have have it delivered to your hotel. Pick it up at check in - and then send it back with a prepaid envelope at the end of your trip. That's it! Do it next time you are traveling abroad - I know I always will. read more

Wifivox was beyond fantastic, I was impressed with the product and the customer service! We rented Wifivox for a couple weeks when we were trying to a more remote area of Mallorca (Estellencs) and knew that we wouldn't have wifi at our apartment. It worked great even in the more remote regions. Also, the customer service was fantastic. I booked it pretty last minute and there was a problem with the pickup location. Even though I missed their email and didn't reply until I was supposed to pick it up (oops!) it was easy to get and they replied immediately when I replied. Once I got it, the device wasn't working properly. They have an online chat where I was able to get immediate help (I ended up having to reset it) and it worked perfect the rest of the trip. It was so refreshing to get a great product and customer service, even when I booked near the last minute! read more
We rented this for 9 days during our stay in Spain split between Tarragona and Barcelona to attend a wedding. The main reason we got it was because our phones were not unlocked and we wanted an effective way to communicate with our kids back home without restrictions to the amount of data we used. Being able to talk and Facetime with our kids everyday no matter where we were made this so worth it! The connection was ok and even faster than our hotel in Tarragona. While we were wine tasting in the hills, the coverage could get spotty but we were mostly connected. While in Barcelona, we had no issues at all. Service was great! Got the box delivered to a friend and just left with our hotel before we left. It was easy to chat with support and get confirmation on when we would receive the device. The only improvement is battery life. If kept on, the battery will last from 9am till 3pm depending on where we were. I carried a portable power stick which I used to charge it and it would last us until 9pm. It's more things to carry but worth it. We would definitely do this again. Our friends were grateful we had it and was able to share it with them. read more
This made my trip to Spain much more pleasant. I rented on their website a week ahead of my trip. By the time I got to my hotel, the pocket wifi was there waiting for me. What attracted me was there reasonable rate ($6.99 Euro), connection for up to 10 devices, unlimited data with not data throttling. With Wifivox, my devices were connected to the web. Instead of using the map, I pulled out my tablet for directions to restaurants and sights. The incidence of getting lost was dramatically lower than past trips. read more

Saved time and money for me. Good speed, great battery life. Perfect solution. I traveled through a good deal of Spain over 2 weeks, and having wifi on hand everywhere was awesome. WifiVox and google maps kept me on track everywhere. read more

The company is very reliable and have great prompt response time by email. I rented twice, in Madrid and Barcelona in between our group tour travels, both times they were very professional, in Barcelona because the date I requested falls on a holiday, they were on top of it, contacted my hotel to deliver days ahead of time. They also contacted me because hotel did not want to accept ahead of time and after I cleared it up with the hotel, they delivered! I also changed drop off hotel in Madrid and it was easy to contact WIFIVOX and change info . It was all smooth good experience. Regarding the pocket WiFi itself , it was good and reliable , signal was strong and fast for both areas. The battery lasted but make sure you have power bank if you plan to use whole day ! The pricing is also fair! Overall I would recommend this company ! Very satisfied ! read more

Wifi was spotty. Worked well in Barcelona and Madrid but spotty in Segovia and Seville. Battery life wouldn't last the whole day. "Convenience" fee for airport drop-off was not convenient at all. It took 30mins of fast walking/running one-way from the metro station. It's outside terminal one and the signs are not easy to follow plus i had to check in to a different terminal which is on the other side of the airport. Barely had enough time to catch my flight. I wish they would change their drop off to any mailbox. read more

The WiFi was FAST, reliable and well worth the money! I was able to use the WiFi by carrying the credit card size unit in my pocket, safely tucked away, while I navigated throughout Barcelona using Google Maps. Since my phone did not work with a cell connection, I used TalkaPhone that I downloaded and made free WiFi calls back to the States that were crystal clear too. It works with whatsup, and Messenger! I could not be happier. I ordered it online and they delivered it to my hotel within an hour. They were super friendly and helpful. I can not recommend this company enough! I wish it existed everywhere I travel out of the USA! read more

They've got the system down, from start to finish. The only complaint is that the directions for the pick up location near Terminal 1 in Madrid should be a little clearer (perhaps the map should show where "Left Luggage/Consigna" is, in relation to the garage and rental car stations). Aside from that, the pre-trip communication was terrific and responsive, the instructions in the envelope for use and return of the unit were clear and concise, and there were no signal or connection problems during our time in Sevilla and Madrid (and on the rails between the two places). We would definitely use them again the next time we're in Spain. Gracias folks! read more

Fantastic service- the device is delivered to your hotel the day before you arrive so you can use it if you arrive early. On your last day of rental so you can use it until midnight. The service worked flawlessly in Spain, Italy and France. read more

The number one way of getting a crazy phone bill is to incur international roaming charges. You pay for every GB of data you use, you pay for every text message you send and receive, you pay for every minute of talk time. Verizon has this new "Travelpass", the pass itself is $10 a day in addition to other secret charges that will pop up on your phone bill. Also, I need internet for several devices.. not just one. Well, WifiVox made my trip in Spain a lot better. For 6.99 Euros a day, I was able to get unlimited internet, and was able to connect multiple devices to it. The wifivox was waiting for me in the hotel even before I had arrived. I used it in Barcelona, then went down to the south east cost of Spain, and it worked perfectly there as well. When I was done, I simply dropped off the device into a mailbox- the company had sent me an envelope with a stamp. It is that simple. I definitely recommend getting WifiVox. The team there is responsive, they do respond to the online chat, and they respond to emails very quickly too. read more

I can't recommend Wifivox, and would definitely not use them again. The quality of the wifi unit/signal was really disappointing. I've rented a number of these types of portable wifi units in the past, and I've found the wifi signal is usually better or at least as good as the wifi signal for an apartment I'm renting or a café/restaurant I'm visiting. Not with Wifivox. The wifi signal was always inferior, and I was using the unit in the downtown area of Hamburg. Also, I found the communication with the team to be a drag. I reserved the unit online a few months before my trip. A few days before the trip, the team reached out to change the pickup location. Apparently, the store was out of business. The next day the team contacted me again to change the return. They thought the drop off location/store was going to be closed for a holiday. Turns out the store was open that day, but closed the previous day. In the end, everything worked out OK, but these little snags left a bad impression. read more

I highly recommend the use of Wifivox. Purchase it prior to your trip online and have it waiting for you at your hotel or the airport left luggage desk. There are no wifi services selling their wares at the Madrid airport (unlike in Japan). We didn't buy in advance and instead had to arrange shipment during our trip since we were going crazy without service. I ordered it for a hotel in Granada that ended up not being a "hotel" but an apartment type business with limited hours for reception. Wifivox worked with me to have it sent to a package receipt company in Granada and we picked it up there. Made the rest of the trip a breeze. All 5 members of our family used it. On occasion we had to charge it before the end of a long day with our battery that we brought along. Returning it at Left Luggage counter at Madrid Barajas Airport was easy. Thanks Wifivox. read more

Renting wifivox is one of the best decision I ever made for this trip! I'm surprise wifivox didn't have more wonderful reviews online. The rent is reasonable, and ordering/receiving it at the hotel is simple and easy. I put in my order 3 days before my trip (paid online with credit card), and chose the option to ship it to my hotel (free in Barcelona) on my arrival date (remember to use the name of the person who booked the hotel). The wifivox package is already there when I checked in in the afternoon (asked the front desk for the package). It's easy to connect with step-by-step instruction in the package. The speed of the wifi is surprisingly fast and it makes your trip extremely easy and smooth. Not every location offer free wifi in Spain, and having the device save my ass from traveling south of Spain and back to Barcelona. Can't understand/read Spanish? No problem, google translate! Can't find directions? No worries, let google map take care of you! Don't know what to eat? Yelp and google! Overall, I have access to internet 99% of the time (with 5 mobile devices). Having wifivox also save me from breaking down some nights since some of my hotel have extremely slow/and hard to connect wifi. I opted to return the device from the El prat airport (5 euros); the package then came originally with the prepaid envelop and drop off instruction. The drop off location at the el prat hotel is downstairs and the lost and found counter; make sure you have enough time to drop off the package at the airport. Total €52.53 for 8 days. Friendly Advice: the device can support up to 8 hours of use after fully charge: make sure you pack up your external charger for the trip so you can stay connect 24/7! read more

This product exceeded our expectations. The wifi signal worked for us throughout our trip very well in both Barcelona & San Sebastian. We ordered the additional battery pack and didn't even end up using it cause the box held a pretty good charge. We picked up the product at the Barcelona airport. There was a little miscommunication as to how we were going to return the box, but after a few emails with them they kindly dropped a return envelope off for us at our hotel in Barcelona. We would definitely use wifibox again. read more

Dear Friends at Wifivox: Your service has been a lifesaver! Not 'cheap' but worth every euro. WiFi access in Spain is not everywhere and if you find it, it is usually password protected. As a business traveler, I had your hotspot on 24/7 and in many cases, access was faster and better than many of the hotels visited. At some point, I did not even bother looking up local access. I had you on, in my back pack along with an extra battery which came in super handy. THANK YOU and see you next year. read more

I LOVE WIFIVOX!!! They have the best customer service! When we arrived in our hotel in Barcelona, the lady at the reception could not understand English. So, when I was asking about a package from Wifivox, which should have had arrived the before our check in, she could not understand. When I talked to the owner, who did speak English, he said they didn't receive anything. So I tried to contact wifivox through their chat service. And there was actually someone there (unlike most of the telcos or internet providers I know)! And they immediately contacted my hotel, and voila! They got my package after all!! Their price is also reasonable and the signal was consistently strong throughout our trip! We also got to talk to our baby back home every time we missed him. Everything was flawless! I just wish they would have more branches in other countries! Thank you, Wifivox for making our Spain trip extra special! read more

Great data coverage and amazing customer service. The company's website is very thorough and they have a live chat feature where you can gather all the information you need before booking. Also, the website gives you many options when it comes to picking up or returning the hotspot device, which is very convenient when compared to other firms. Customer service for the company is also very through and responds in a timely manner to emails. We had 3 minor glitches/issues, thus 4 stars. 1) There is discount promo code option on the website but it's not clear if the promo applied/processed when you try entering it. I had two promo codes and couldn't see which one is valid and would work, so I used the one that seemed most recent. I had to confirm with customer service via email that the promo code was applied after the booking. 2) When booking, I picked date X to Y, but my confirmation said X to Y +1. I found this odd and requested customer service to adjust this and refund me the extra day's charge. They agreed but said I had to wait until I used and returned the hotspot to confirm what days we used it - perfectly fine with us. 3) Beware of the battery life on the hotspot! The company never gave us a heads up/warned us regarding the limitation on the battery life. On one day, the hotspot barely lasted 4 hours and we were stranded without internet for the rest of the day. On another day, it barely lasted 5 hours. On both days, we had 4 smartphones linked to the hotspot and were using the hotspot for google maps and checking minor things on Yelp, Tripadvisor and Facebook. When we reached out to customer service via email regarding this, they said: "The average life of the battery is 6 to 8 hours.....We have customers with units lasting up to 13 hours and there are others with battery life's of 4 hours. It just depends a lot of how you use the unit." Like I said, I wish the company told us this in advanced because we would have brought a external battery/charger so the hotspot could last the entire day. The point of renting the hotspot is having data from morning to night. All in all, our experience was positive and I would highly recommend this firm for a hotspot in Spain. Just be aware of the limited battery life and plan ahead for that. read more

The wifi works and it was easy to use. Made life easy so I can use google maps to get around. But the devices last about 2 hours when you use it. It won't last 8 hours! Bring a portable charger if you're out and about all day. The wifi device will drain before the end of the day. read more

Hello Carlo,…
Wifi makes your life easy, very easy, simple. Specially in a country, where you do not speak their local language. During my trip to Spain, I rented out a wifi device from Wifivox. Price was very reasonable, receiving the device and returning the device was also very simple, very hassle-free. I booked my accommodation with Airbnb in Barcelona, and opted for the device drop off at the apartment option. I wanted the delivery to be made before I reach my place in Barcelona, but when people from Wifivox went to my accommodation place to deliver the device, they did not find me there and as par their policy they can not deliver to anyone other than person whose name is on the order or the name of the person should be there on the mailbox. So they held the device at the Wifivox location closest to my accommodation and left a voice mail for me. So finally I picked it up from their location around one mile from my Airbnb place. Service was just top notch. Will surely recommend everyone to use their service during their visit to Spain. read more

I loved wifivox! Though at times it got really hot and we had to turn it off to let it cool down, it was a life saver during our trip in Spain. The battery lasted us all day and my partner and I were both connected to it. Pick up and delivery were both as smooth as can be. We picked it up at our hotel when we arrived and we dropped it off at a different hotel we were staying at when we left. I would definitely use it again! read more

Researched a few providers before our trip to Spain, and this one looked to be convenient, reliable, and economical. In actuality, our expectations were exceeded. The hotspot device made traveling SO much easier, since we had access to maps and transportation guides and translation sites virtually at our fingertips. It had great connection and the speed was better than the regular wifi at our hotels. The unit was waiting for us at our hotel in Barcelona and was incredibly easy to set up. The battery lasted a long time and recharged quickly. We traveled from Barcelona to Montserrat, Bilbao, and by train down to Madrid and there were very few spots where we lost connectivity. Very, very satisfied! read more

Didn't actually get to use the product features as my trip was cancelled. However, I can comment on their customer service. I received nothing but the best service through both their in website chat, and through email. I had a great experience with Wifivox. The equipment worked great even in remote areas of the country I was traveling in, and the customer relations was top notch. Had this thing rented for 3 weeks. Staying at one of Denia's main beaches I had terrible reception. They use the Movistar network which is absolutely useless. After complaining for a week they had my device replaced with another one. It did not change a lot. I had no service in the house at all, I had to put it up in a tree outside for me to just check my emails. After 3 hours the battery was dead or overheated. The frustrating thing is that even when they offered a refund after returning it, I needed my internet. So better a lousy connection than nothing at all. If I would have known it was this bad in advance I would not have rented it. Out of 3 weeks I had about half a week of decent internet where I could watch streaming tv. The rest of the time I was too busy banging my head against the wall! As a comparison: My girlfriend's prepaid Vodaphone sim card in her phone had perfect 3g service at all times while the terrible Movistar had difficulty with showing any bars on the 2g (!!) network. Great service, crap product! read more
