I went into Toepperwein Family Practice yesterday to confirm they take my insurance and make an…read moreappointment for my daughter. My Daughter has a persistent cough and I think its time to move up from a pediatrician. I explained why I was there and they said they couldn't see my daughter if she was sick. They said that she needed to establish herself as a patient when she was well. WTH!!!!!!! A doctors office that cannot see sick patients? So bizarre I just walked out wondering what they just said. I wouldn't recommend this place if your not well. But, hey, they won't take you anyways.

He's had horrible staff during times and good in fact awesome at others. I don't know if the medical care system has changed. I don't know. But months out from appointments means one of two things or both. Either you have too many patients or not enough staff. No matter. And this is kind of common here in San Antonio I've found. Tried to find a doctor taking new patients. 5 months out. THAT is not health care. I can't 'plan' every event with my health 5 months in advance. People get sick and need to see a doctor fairly soon. 'Go to the ER' is the answer. Then the ER gets clogged up to people that really need it. So I just become part of the problem. But for me, for as long as I've been a patient, I don't' care how many patients you have...it's about loyalty and trust me, I've stuck through some bad times there as he's gone through some horrible staff. And I see it. I didn't say anything but I saw the damage being done. I just can't do it. I don't feel like I can accept that for MYSELF. Love the man. He saved my life long ago. We've been through a lot together. I consider him a friend, but I just cannot be treated like that. 5 star for Taj, 2 for the management side of it.

Never encountered that before. To top it off I am supposed to go to a specialist once a year her people say to go to the appointment and the specialist will do the referral, last time I did that they said they don't work for my PCP, it's her job to do the referral. Instead of $55, I had to pay $175 for a simple visit. My wife and I both don't like the way she talks down to us. She ignores my suggestions and acts like she know everything. I even had to tell her one of my medications was on the list for bad side effects. I liked it better when she had a PA working for her.

I found Cibolo Family Medicine and thought that a concierge service would be out of my price range. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the monthly charge for their practice was comparable to one massage! I was a bit skeptical of this model of medicine but went for my initial visit, which is an intro visit, at no charge, and wow I was INCREDIBLY impressed by Dr Karos Muñoz!! She gave me her full attention, and was not rushed in any way. She said that her number is provided and should I get sick on a weekend or evening all I had to do was call her. I signed up and went back for my physical the following week. They draw your labs, in-office, and have contracted rates on many services such as radiology and labs. I recently had a situation where I was sick, after-hours, and required an ED visit. Dr Muñoz was available to answer my questions and guide my care which was so very comforting to me. While I do have insurance, and an in-network primary care MD, I will absolutely keep seeing Dr Muñoz, as I trust her, I love the individualized care she provides, and the ability to reach out after-hours or on weekend if there is an emergency is priceless to me. The office is clean and the ancillary staff is very professional and responsive. Once I accidentally called the office and hung up, but office staff called back saying they had a missed call from me and wanted to ensure I was OK! This type of customer service is truly amazing and not found often in my experience. I highly recommend Cibolo Family Medicine and specifically Dr Karos Munñoz for your medical needs.

I ended up switching to his office, because my previous primary care provider refused to even consider giving me a prescription to address anxiety issues, even though I had a recommendation from another healthcare provider. Dr. Rodriguez listened attentively and addressed all of my concerns. He really takes his time with each patient. Dr. Rodriguez is now part of the MdVIP program, so we switched to PA Heather and PA Jerry. Heather has been great. She is really good at presenting all of the options available for treatments and even puts stickers on my lab results. Overall, I recommend this office to my friends all the time.
