Still very glad I didn't leave before dessert (around 10PM, three hours in), the cake was very good! Every course was delicious, and the menu was chosen well. The decor was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Really a wonderful time.

They use such quality ingredients, in this case Gorgonzola, that you won't be disappointed with anything on the menu. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the ambiance is not great. Pizzeria Marinella has that "hole-in-the-wall" charm, with friendly, family-style service that makes you feel welcome right away. The prices are great. I had dinner with a LARGE mushroom pizza and San Pellegrino water for €22.50. And yes, like almost everywhere in Germany, the water was more expensive than the beer! It's not a fancy place, but it absolutely does the trick when you're looking for something easy, affordable, and enjoyable.

My dinner partner got a small salad, which was very crunchy, fresh, and the dressing was a very good balsamic-based dressing. I would recommend getting that instead as a starter. For my main, despite my misgivings, I ordered a grilled salmon with blanched vegetables. My misgivings come from the fact that I can cheaply and easily make this at home (skin the salmon, drizzle oil and salt, pop it into the oven) but I decided to go for the €18,90 salmon. I did ask for a cream sauce additionally to jazz it up a bit and justify the price with the product, and boy, am I glad I did. The blanched vegetables were pretty blah (potato fingerlings, zucchini, bell peppers) but the salmon was perfectly cooked, and the creamy sauce complemented the salmon nicely. My dining partner had the pumpkin risotto with baby calamari. I tried some and it was creamy, smooth, and flavorful. My salmon was better though :) Good service, nice ambience, excellent food, high prices. You pay for what you get here.

Sophia, the owner, is there most nights, so if you need an explanation for the name (there is one), ask her. She speaks great English, too. Some minor annoyances: they don't take any credit cards and you have to sit far in to avoid the cigarette smoke of the outdoor guests. Still, this is an easy four stars.

It is run by a family so at times it got incredibly rambunctious. Servers would sing as they dropped plates off, our servers would be yelling across the restaurant for an order. This would have been okay if the restaurant environment matched this behaviour. However, it did not. This restaurant has white table clothes, and dim lighting. So, yelling across the restaurant didn't set the mood. One thing should be noted is that servers cared. I ordered a sparkling apple juice, but he thought that I had ordered an Aperol Spritz, because of a language barrier. I got the Aperol Spritz, didn't drink it that much. He later came to the table to ask why and if my drink was okay. He quickly fixed the mistake he had made. Was really impressed by this. Overall, food is delicious, and service was good at times. However, service should be more aware of the environment that they are trying to initiate.

Authentic. So authentic that you might want to brush up on your Italian before dining here!…read more In the mood for something other than beer and bratwurst, we picked this place for dinner after an automotive show. This was the only Italian restaurant we could find that was open late on a Monday night, one that was fairly centrally located. It's true what another reviewer said--that this restaurant is better suited for a romantic evening than a dinner with colleagues. White tablecloths, candles, a deep wooden bar in the back boasting bold Italian wines... and the odd art piece heavily featuring a Ferrari. The food, oh the food! The flavors were wonderful, from the burrata starter to the tiramisu dessert. I ordered the penne arrabbiata for my main, which was just a little too al dente: I would have cooked the pasta for 30-45 seconds more.
