Arrived to this neighborhood trattoria via water taxi. Received a super nice welcome from the owner…read moreas we walked up and he showed us to our outdoor table. Lovely setting with what felt like locals eating with us. Highly recommend the house made pickles and also the cheese and honey as a starter. Service was excellent and engaging! After we got back to our hotel I realized I had left my expensive sunglasses at the table, but it was after hours and they were closed the next day. Unfortunately we were scheduled to depart Venice the next day. I called anyway, and the owner picked up, acknowledged that he had the sunglasses with him. When I explained my predicament he very kindly said that after he cleaned up around midnight, he would head home and pass near our hotel and said he would happily drop off the sunglasses with the hotel employee in the lobby. Next morning, I woke up and checked, and the sunglasses were, in fact, dropped off. I was so grateful for a wonderful meal, wonderful service, and a very kind gesture that he did not have to do. Will definitely be going back next time we are in Venice!
